Dell XPS M140

I want a new computer! I had my PC for the past 5 years now and I’m tired of it being constantly hogged by other members of our family even tough we have 2 other computers at home. I would also like the ability take it outside and on vacations with me so therefore I’m looking at a laptop. I researched and looked and fell in love with this little beauty XPS M140 http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m140?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs .

So here I’m hoping that one of you has one of these and can tell me a bit about it.

Don't know about that one, but I have an Inspiron 6000 that I love. People complain about Dells customer service, but I came home last night to find out my power cord died....it just quit working. Of course the computer was left on so the battery had also died. I called Dell, my power cord is under warranty (I got the 4 year extended warranty) and they are sending overnight express for me. He is also sending me a new battery and an extra AC adapter. All for free. I am a happy camper with Dell.

A good friend just got one and it's wonderful. Take a look at the dimensions and make sure it's what you want. The thing is much larger than normal because of the widescreen, but so worth it.

I've got a XPS series desktop and it's also everything they say.

Dimensions as in size of the computer itself (sorry, forgot Dimension is another computer line).

It didn't really hit us how big the XPS notebooks are until we opened the box. Because of the widescreen display the thing is much bigger than the average notebook. Something to think about when buying accessories and traveling with it.

Well I looked; I drooled and wished for the last 24 hours I thought about it over and over again. I debated why I should/n’t do it and guess what…




I brought it! Yay for me! I’m getting a new laptop!

Which options did you get? My friend got the better battery, better video card, and the wireless modem.

I stepped up with battery and upgraded the processor but went with the standard on everything else. We have a wireless network in the house and according to my son this laptop will connect just fine to it as is. I am ssssooooooo excited and I can’t wait till I get it. I’m sure my DS 13 will be just as happy once he gets home as it means he now gets my old computer.

I got it yesterday and I love it! It is fast, light and quite portable. I’m so glad I decided to splurge on my computer, even DH who is a self proclaimed desktop man says it’s a nice little computer!
