dell laptops

DD has had one for 2 years or so - I've had mine about a year - no complaints from either of us yet.. :) All Dell desk tops in this household too (currently 3 of them) and has always been that way - with no issues at all..

We have a Dell Inspiron 1100. We have had very few problems and would purchase another Dell with no hesitation.

The product itself is fine in general, but I refuse to purchase one because Dell has one of the WORST Customer Service departments I've ever encountered. I'd rank them below AOL.

Actually dell has better customer service than HP. Trust me been there done that. I've heard the labtops are more incline to damage if you accidently drop them or something.

I tend to avoid Dell due to masses of bad luck with them.

I've had my Inspiron 1200 for almost 2 years with never a problem.

I called twice - because of something that I did to mess up my lap top (I'm not computer literate at all - LOL) and the customer service was excellent - better yet, they spoke fluent English!

I got a dell desktop as a college graduation present in 2003 and it ran great and then I took it to school and was hooked up to their network and did not have the proper virus scanner/spyware, etc. so they ended up crashing my computer and reprogramming it and it has worked fine since then. So last summer I got an early grad present and got a dell laptop and took it to help desk before i even hooked it up at school and they put the proper software on it and I have not had any problems at all. My roommate also has a dell laptop and has not had any problems with it. They take up so much less space in a crowded dorm room! My brothers monitor broke on his dell desktop on Thurs night and so we called dell and they are shipping another one because we got the extended warrenty on it and customer service said it would be here by Monday!

I'm on my third dell laptop. The first one was great and got really beat up and still worked great. It is actually still in use it's just not powerful enough. The second one had issues from the start but the dell support was great. When it came it wouldnt even boot up and they had to send me a new hard drive but it arrived in about 2 days. Then there were little bugs in it for the rest of the time. I just got my third one and it is fantastic (so far). I also have a desk top that I've had for 4 years and it has been really good. It crashed once after the warranty but I had a friend who fixed it and it has worked great ever since.

I use an Inspiron E1505, and it's great. Dell is the best balance between price, quality and service.

I have 2 dell desktops and 2 dell laptops right now and no problem with any of them.

I'm on my third Dell laptop. First one lasted only a year, but I dropped lots of times. So, my bad with that one. My second one a Insprion 9100 lasted 2 1/2 years (with not one drop by me!) and the motherboard went out as well as the monitor. All at once, I don't know what happened. That was right after Christmas and in Jan. I got a Inspiron 6400, so far so good. My dh's best friend's brother works for Dell, so that's why he keeps getting me Dell.

I've had a Dell M600 for 2 years now without any problems. I even dropped it on a concrete garage floor once and I just keeps going.

We have 6 dell laptops and the quality and service are great, IMO. I won't buy anything else.

We have three Dell laptops - one refurbished, one top-of-the-line and one cheapest-model-available. (Guess which one is mine? ) All of them work great. But we haven't had to call customer service so I don't know about that.

One tip: buy the CDs with Windows loaded onto them and start out by erasing the hard drive - gets rid of all the junk Dell pre-loads. (McAfee or Norton trial, AOL/Earthlink trials, etc.) I waited six months and finally zapped the hard drive and it runs so much faster and smoother now. Even if you're not going to erase the hard drive, buy the CDs. You never know when you might need them.

I totally agree! I called once and the guy walked me through several steps and at one point, it looked like I was about to erase my hard drive and I asked him several times "are you sure you want me to press ok? Are you sure it won't erase anything"...."oh no! It won't, don't worry"....ok...poof....EVERYTHING was gone! What did he say "oooops...that wasn't supposed to happen" and actually LAUGHED! I was in tears!

Remarkably, for the money, they actually have one of the BEST customer service departments. While they do have the odd screw-ball, generally, they have far more competence and capability than their competitors. The real problem is that, "for the money" part -- for the money, customer service is invariably going to suffer.

I got a really nice laptop deal from Dell. Loved it soo far.

if you need a great laptop/desktop deals, id visit gotapex.com

like 90% of the deals there are Dell computers.
