I am ready to order my online tickets to make sure I don't miss out on the free kid ticket and the extra 3 days. I thought I could have the tickets mailed regular mail for a small processing fee :confused3 . We won't need the tickets until July, so there is no rush to receive the tickets, but I would prefer to have the tickets in hand rather than rely on the kiosk. Is there a way to get my tickets in hand without paying the $15 Fed Ex charge? I know folks on here are describing the tickets they receive through this dealas if they have the tickets in hand. Is everyone paying the Fed Ex charge? If I opt for picking up at the kiosk, will I get something ahead of time to verify my order "just in case"?

Thanks!

we've had friends order them online and then go to the kiosk when they get down here. you print out your e-ticket with your confirmation number. bring that e-ticket and the same credit card you bought them with. you enter the code, swipe the card for security verification, and they print out immediately. we renewed one of my daughter's friends AP last week using a kiosk again. it took about a minute and a half for the whole transaction.

Getting the tickets mailed to your home is the only way you can be absolutely sure in advance.

You still can't say "absolutely" sure because it's a chance they could get lost in the mail. Which ever makes you feel more comfortable is what you should go with.

I chose to get them from the kiosk which I did last year. There was no problems and it took all of a minute. Also, I am just to cheap to pay for the shipping service :)

as long as you have your eticket with confirmation and the credit card, you're fine. we've seen this transction over 10 times. bring your ID if something were to happen as a backup. UO wull honor the transaction. every park down here has the eticket kiosks. no lines, no wait, very easy. FEDEX is going to require someone be there to sign for your tickets.

Actually, they can't get lost in the mail! Fedex guarantees their deliveries. I paid the $15 to have them sent to my home. They are now in my cupboard. I'm just wondering when they really expire, there are no dates on them besides the date of purchase :confused3 .

According to the Universal Orlando website, the 2-day 2-park - kids free & 3 day free tickets must be used by December 31, 2006 and expire 5 days after the first use.

The website also says that "A signature WILL NOT be required at time of delivery."

Hello!!

I ordered my tickets online LATE Wednesday night, and they arrived Friday about 12:30 p.m.

FedEx driver left them in the door. No signature needed.

i read goingtobe40's question a little different than the rest of you.

you all gave great advice but she had a different part to her question.

she wants the adult/free child ticket in advance so she can be reassured the tickets won't be marked adult/child on them. if she waits until she arrives at the park, what if the system changes and they are marked to specify child/adult on them.

that's how i read the question. maybe i am wrong

dunno what to tell you about that one. universal can change the promo anytime without notice as it's advertised one adult/one free child ticket. you will receive what you paid for if you pick up at the kiosk. universal won't change any already paid for tickets. be reassured you will receive exactly what you did order in advance. you must have the confirmation number of the order and the credit card you used to pay for the order to pick up the tickets though.

i ordered my ticket and originally indicated pick up at kiosk.
then i changed my mind and called back to change it for fed ex.
no other choice but the $15 fed ex fee. since there was an error on my first order, it was overnight fed ex without any additional charge to me.

the only reason i did that change to have them in advance was to save time.
the last two years, i have seen the long line at guest services in the morning. i just want to advoid spending time in a line. i talked to someone that did and they told me it was about 40 minutes of waiting to get to the front to talk to a gs employee.

i go for the hhn event. i check into the hotel and then go to the park.
the weekends are busy at the time of year i attend. i do not want to have to wait in line for the ticket exchange. too excited to enter the park on my first day there.

That is also how I read the original post and that is the context of my answer.
The only way to be sure of what type tickets you have in advance is to have them mailed(fedex).

I was worried about them changing things before our trip in May so I paid the $15 to have them shipped to me FEDEX and I got them yesterday (no signature required). All tickets are the same but the tickets will be used by two adults and two children so I see no problems for us getting into the parks anyways. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input mac & steevo. I do not in fact care if the tickets are adult or child--okay, I do want the adult tickets I order to actually be adult tickets! But the child tickets are for a 7 year old so I am not looking to get away with anything as implied! I will have an extra child ticket, however. I just am the paranoid sort and was hoping to have tickets in hand without paying $15 extra (since I am buying the tickets as a gift for my sister and her DH). At this point it looks like we will all be arriving in Orlando on 7/6 but they will probably not start the 5 days in the parks until 7/7. We will be able to go to the kiosk at our leisure in the 6th to pick up the tickets for use the following day.

The last time I was at Universal (last summer) I used the kiosk and found it to be extremely easy -- I don't think it took more than a minute, total. There are several machines, so I don't think you would find a long line.

imgoingtobe40, no, i was not implying anything .....i regret if that is what you thought from my post.

if you give the two adult tickets to your family and use one child ticket for your child, then the other child ticket will be valid for as long as you don't use one day of it.

you can hold that child ticket next year if you wish for another trip. no matter what the uo site says about expiration 12/06, that won't happen.

i had one of my tickets scanned last year and it is from a few years back and still valid.

yes, that bites about the fed ex fee of $15 for sending it out but no other way around it unless you use the kiosk. i feel like you do and prefer to have the ticket in my possession before i make my trip.

last year i ordered the hhn tickets and epp in the summer when they first went on sale. i chose the fed ex delivery instead of kiosk. now these are hard tickets so that is different from the park passes. when mine came, they were the wrong dates. for the 6 tickets i ordered for one person (3 hhn and 3 epp) they were for the same date. i had to call and send them back and have them replaced. if i had waited until i went to the park, i would have been screwed. hhn tickets say sale if final.

i was concerned that the epp would be sold out if i didn't order in advance. only a limited number are sold per evening for the event. who knows when they really do sell out...........

because of that issue, i now prefer to have my tickets sent out to me instead of the will call.

i know lots of people prefer the will call/kiosk,and it works out fine for them.

i stress out enough planning and trying to organize and like all to go smooth for me.

hope you have a great vacation in july

No cause to regret mac, no offense taken.

I am already scheming about the extra kid ticket! I am hoping that DSis has such fun that they will want to upgrade the two adult tickets to AP's for the extra $80 then we can all do Christmas at Universal! Their DS will still only be 7 so he can use the kid ticket. Of course I will have to convince my DH to renew our AP's an extra year... :rolleyes1 But, he and DS both said they missed being in FL this past Christmas...
