delivery Fee Question

BS doesn’t handle our luggage, but last month I brought 3 kids and my mil down to bring up our groceries & BS said no, they would bring it up. They insisted & I was annoyed b/c I had no USD for a tip & had to borrow some from my mil.

Bell services wouldn't give you your groceries????

Yeah, but so what? At SSR and OKW, the refrigerators would not have been paid for by Disney. they were paid by DVC.
Plus I was under the impression that the fee was for delivery and not storage. If you pick it up yourself there was no fee. If it had to do with refrigeration wouldn't everyone be charged even if they picked it up from Bell Services?

The GM at BRV and CCV will let guests use the luggage carts. Bell Services there told me that they are really upset about the policy, (less tips).

:earsboy: Bill
Now that's funny, because that's where I had asked. I was taking a load of groceries in from a wegoshop delivery, she wanted me to meet her at her car. Thought it was silly to offload to a bellhop and have him bring it to us when I had to do all the work anyway.

No. I asked for them. They said we’ll bring them up. He looked at the 5 of us & said I know that’s why you brought the manpower with you, but we’ll have somebody bring them up. I wasn’t going to argue with BS in the lobby.

Beach Club?
It will be interesting to see if this policy of theirs changes with the new rules.

Side note: What if someone needed something from a delivery asap? Say for example, OTC medicine.

Psssstt...DVC Sales...make free grocery delivery (tipped, of course) a perk for direct purchasers. :P

And did they bring them right away?

I have a general question for tipping. In this case, if I had gone down to get my groceries from bell services , I would have felt I would still need to tip something. I would have tipped more if they had brought it to the room, but I always heard any time someone touches a bag, you tip. Perhaps someone that travels more than me (which is almost everyone) has some thoughts.

About 1/2 hr later, which was another reason I wanted to bring them up myself. I know how important tipping is in the US, but this type of corporate “welfare” by a company worth billions drives me insane.

Now that they want to charge & still pay the employee a pittance and expect me to tip, I will insist on picking up my own bags.

So at SSR where ALL bell services are paid for via MF, where is this extra money going???
Got this typical non-answer reply today:
Thank you for contacting Disney Vacation Club®.
We appreciate your interest in the resort package fee and will be happy to assist you.

The resort package delivery fees have nothing to do with Bell Services so you are not having to pay this fee unless you have a package delivered. The resort package delivery fee is charged when the Front Desk receives a package in the mail for you or you ask to have the package delivered to your room.

Disney Vacation Club values our Members' feedback and would appreciate you taking a moment to fill out a survey on the service I provided you today.

I’m just going to insist on delivering my own groceries to the room.

I will say they didn't actually answer what you asked. They answered about the package delivery, which is independent and a separate service from BS delivering groceries. They didn't understand what you asked it looks like.

just back and we had a garden grocer delivery waiting for us at Bell Services, we were told about the fee to deliver to the room, we said "we will carry it all up ourselves thanks! so we all grabbed stuff and walked it back to our room. We had always tipped BS anyway when they brought it up, but this way was cheaper! we didnt order alot and they got a smaller tip than the 6.00

Yes, this happens far too often. Disney ranks below average in this department. I usually take it upon myself to educate member services about the terms, services and news, and then reiterate my question.
Yup. I'm a pain.

And still, I don't usually get an answer.

Interestingly my comment on this hasn't been answered. Nor has another comment I had on the way points are allocated. So not sure what is holding up the reply.

Yes, they didn’t bother to read what I wrote. I was very specific that I was referencing the newly implemented fee to transfer groceries from BS to a room/villa. Typical.

Yeah I just got the same email too.

It sounds almost like this was a decision by WDW without anyone from DVC Management being involved or even told about it? Unless it is part of a new employment contract with the Bell Services people.
