Delicious Indeed!

(continued from previous post)

This was the first set of the Vinylmation Jr. that we saw at the Art of Disney store.

IMG_8993.jpg

I liked this one the most out of all of those there, but this was before we saw the Disney character ones! I was excited when I saw the character ones because I also knew that those were the ones that Sarah and her sisters got!

IMG_8994.jpg

Howard had a ball in this store, of course.

IMG_6766.jpg

IMG_6767.jpg

He really liked the white one with the black stripes and the red, yellow, and blue. He said it was by a certain artist, but I don't remember what it was. I'd ask him now, but he's not at his desk at work.

IMG_6768.jpg

In the memories store (forgot the exact name), I saw the punch that I had been eyeing for a really long time (as in, years!). I didn't buy it though at any time of this trip. BUT it doesn't mean it didn't come home with me! Oh wait, it sounds like I stole it, haha. No, Howard went back on another day and picked it up for me as a surprise! Well, it's not a surprise for you readers now because I just told you.

IMG_6769.jpg

Walkin' walkin' walkin' ...

IMG_6773.jpg

Margarita bar would probably look good on a hot summer day. I wonder if they make virgin margaritas, haha.

IMG_8995.jpg

Where are we now?

IMG_8996.jpg

Kinda obvious considering the previous pictures ...

IMG_8997.jpg

Then we went to World of Disney for a bit where they had Mickey shaped pasta and this guy with a weird smile holding it up.

IMG_8998.jpg

Oh, and of course they had these creepers too. I wanted them to start moving because I think I had my camera ready to record, but they didn't do it when we were there.

IMG_6775.jpg

Is that supposed to be Jack Sparrow?

IMG_6776.jpg

I wanted one of these cookies too, but they were actually pretty expensive! Wasn't sure if I wanted to spend part of my $30 on it. I think these are the ones that Nermel9 has written about. Are these it, Jen?

IMG_6778.jpg

I was loving all the nerds stuff, but I was wondering why all the images had to be so large!

IMG_8999.jpg

I don't like images to be like, BAM, I'm all over your shirt! But these were cute! Haha, Goofy has braces.

IMG_9000.jpg

Nerd.

IMG_9001.jpg

Mouse.

IMG_9002.jpg

TURKEY LEG. We actually saw someone wearing this the day before, so it was cool to see it here.

IMG_9003.jpg

These keychains were cute! Ooo, I actually have a Mickey keychain that I really like that's on a bag I don't use as often. I should change it.

IMG_9004.jpg

We did meet up with the 3 of them at World of Disney. I think it was "accidental" because we were initially going to meet at Earl of Sandwich. Nik thought about buying this cute Pooh for a really long time, but she put it down and we said we'd come back for it if she still wanted it after thinking about it. She did make a decision not to get it and to spend her souvenir money later on! Good choice!

IMG_9005.jpg

We took a picture of it though because then she could always look at them!

IMG_9006.jpg

Howard took a picture of these too.

IMG_6779.jpg

THEN IT WAS FINALLY TIME FOR EARL OF SANDWICH! YAY!

Love the virtual shopping tour! I like that big puzzle. I had seen that somewhere online and thought about getting it for my dad for his birthday. I didn't though. :( But he and my sister enjoy doing puzzles!

Those notebooks and pens are so cute! I agree about the pens though. I got a really cute Eeyore one several years ago, and of course it doesn't work anymore. But I can't really bring myself to throw it away. :rolleyes1

WHOA, look at those Harry Potter legos!

I am not really a fan of that set of vinylmation keychains. We thought the character ones were so much cuter (not to mention, they are atleast Disney related!). I'd be afraid with that other set I'd get one I didn't like!

I have that 40th anniversary puzzle - it was a bit challenging, but fun to put together!

So, you showed us pictures of all the stuff you didn't get at Mickey's Pantry, how about showing us what you did get? ;)

I really love the way you take photos of cute stuff in shops, thereby getting the enjoyment out of them without spending the money! There's always so much great stuff to see. I think I may start collecting pictures of pins! (Food pins - what an interesting subcategory!)

I really like the mouse shirt!

All the shopping pictures are fun to see.
I see so many things I want to get, but I never buy much when I'm really there.

I do like to buy the pins though. I would have bought a ton if they weren't so expensive. :headache:

that's sweet of Howard to buy you the punch!

Can't wait to see what you bought with your engagement gift!

I always enjoy your virtual shopping posts! :thumbsup2

I LOVE puzzles, but I think I'd get frustrated with this 1000 piece. I like the good ol' 500 pieces that are more cartoon-y, so it's easier to match colors, haha.

IMG_8981.jpg

We have this puzzle. It was actually very easy because of the little objects throughout the photo. Only took us one night to finish. :goodvibes

Howard and I then headed to the ghetto Lego store. They were fixing up the real one, so we were in this huge yellow tent that was harsh on the eyes because it cast a yellow tint on everything.
That tent was so horrible to be in. That yellow tint was making it difficult to see, I had to keep my sunglasses on the whole time. I don't know how those CMs could handle that!

I think it'll be fun to get that puzzle on a trip when we go with my parents because we'll be able to bring it back in the car! It's going to be odd packing for the plane for the Disneymoon. I'm kind of used to bringing anything and everything.

That's why I was considering the Kooky pens. They do sell refills!

Yeah, the character Vinylmation Jr. ones are way cuter! I like them all, but I like some more than others, which is why I didn't get any. Haha, it doesn't mean others in the group didn't ... I think Dani did!

I love that other people like puzzles too! My older brother doesn't see the point in them. Nikki and I actually used to do puzzles all the time. Dani would come into the room and be like, "Oh, you're doing another puzzle?" and then she'd walk out. It wasn't her thing!

I promise! Hehe, I took pictures of everything I got that night while Dani and Ray were making dinner.

Too bad the whole picture taking thing doesn't work on craft supplies because I buy that stuff all the time! But at least I'll eventually make money off of it. I sold cards yesterday, and I now made $6.50! Haha, that's so exciting to me.

Collecting pictures of pins is the best thing. I don't know what I'd do with all of them during the year, but I like taking pics of the cute ones!

That's why I'm so glad we had the $100 engagement gift. I know we probably would've left with like, one thing if we didn't have that! I mean, I didn't even want to buy the punch, and that's crafting related!

I always enjoy your virtual shopping posts! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Haha, I'm glad that I don't just take the pictures for my own enjoyment then!

Ooo, glad to know that it wasn't that difficult. I'll keep that in mind if it's still there! Of course, the one I do have hasn't been touched yet. It'll probably be easier when Howard and I have our own apartment because then we can lay it out on a table and work on it slowly.

Ugh, that Lego tent was painful! It wasn't even annoying. It was just so difficult to see, and my eyes could not adjust! I didn't even think about the CMs; I wonder what they do!

Tuesday, February 22: That First Bite

I was so excited to be having lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Back in 2008, I had my family finally try the place after I had read reviews on DIS. We fell for it, and it has become a must eat place every time we're there. I was thrilled to have Dani, Ray, and Nik try it as well!

IMG_9007.jpg

I was on the lookout for the peanut butter brownie dessert I had read about.

IMG_9008.jpg

Alas, we couldn't find it! Sad.

IMG_9009.jpg

Is it just me or does EVERYTHING in this place look so good? Even all the things filled with lactose are tempting for me!

IMG_9010.jpg

What was cool was that the big table in the seating area was free. No other table that was available would fit us, so we made our way and felt rather regal. I wondered if the books in these shelves were books that you could actually read, but I just took a picture instead of taking a book!

IMG_9011.jpg

See? Regal! Haha.

IMG_9012.jpg

While we waited for our buzzers to go off for our food, the 3 of them gave this gift to Howard. It was a thanks for driving everywhere during the vacation. It was relaxing for them because as he drove, and I helped navigate, sometimes the 3 of them would fall asleep.

IMG_9013.jpg

Finally our buzzers went off, and we were able to get our food. For Nik's tomato soup, she got a little cup of croutons. I think they initially forgot about her soup order, so that's why they gave it to her separately later on like that.

IMG_9014.jpg

The tomato soup that Howard and I shared already had the croutons in it. I had most of it because I absolutely LOVE tomato soup! I remember seeing all the commercials for Campbell's tomato soup and wondered what was so special about it. Now I'm not that big of a fan of the canned stuff (though it's nice to have in the house just in case), but fresh tomato soup or tomato basil is just delicious as long as it's not TOO tart.

IMG_9015.jpg

So ready to eat!

IMG_9018.jpg

Ray prepared himself for this fancy meal in this fancy location. Haha, it just fit with the music. We're really wacky, I know.

Before I started eating mine, I waited for each of them to take a first bite out of their sandwiches. Howard has pictures of their bites.

Nik had the Hawaiian BBQ, and you can see she also got the drink that went along with it.

IMG_6785.jpg

Dani went with my suggestion of the All-American.

IMG_6786.jpg

Ray had the Full Montagu.

IMG_6787.jpg

Now pictures are great, but you know me by now, right? VIDEO! This is another one that I like to watch even though it's months after just because it's like, capturing the moment they first tasted EoS and is totally one of the reasons why I KNOW they'll be back to Florida! Oh, there's also something else about this video. See the lady with the long blonde hair and glasses that's behind Ray? I'm like, 98% sure that's my chemistry teacher from sophomore year of high school. I didn't want to go up to her just in case it wasn't AND because I don't think she'd remember me as it was over 10 years ago! It'd make sense that she was there during the school break if she was still a teacher. And it didn't just LOOK like her either; she moved like her as well! BTW, is it just me, or does it look like she's looking at the camera at times?

After watching their first bites, I was very eager for mine! I love that mix of turkey, cheddar, ranch, tomato, lettuce, and cranberry sauce!

IMG_6789.jpg

And Howard was very eager for his.

IMG_6791.jpg

It was definitely DELICIOUS INDEED! We knew that we'd be back later in the week to pick up sandwiches for the Amtrak ride back home, so at least it wasn't the only time we'd get to eat those delicious sandwiches!

Mmmm, we love Earl of Sandwich too! It is too bad they don't have any around here-but I guess that's a good thing because I'd want to go all the time. Love how you captured everyone's first bites on video.

Every time we've gone I've gotten the kid's sandwich because the regular ones are huge! The All-American does sound good though.

Hawaiian BBQ is one of my favorites! And the tomato soup looks really really good. I may have to try some next time! We always have our very first meal on property at Earl of Sandwich! I'm with Sarah, on one hand I'd love to have one close by, but then it would lose a lot of it's specialness if I could have one anytime I wanted.

Hmmm... I was just deciding if I should try to make it to EOS in September. The HILARIOUS video just convinced me to do it. :thumbsup2 Looks yummy!

Love Earl of Sandwich. And love the videos. So makes me want to have some right now.

EoS is a must do for us also! Man I'm hungry just watching your first time bites!

You totally should have gone up to that woman and asked if she was your teacher! You never know, she might have remembered you! If not, who cares, you'd never see that woman ever again!

The potato pancakes you made look great!!! Awesome pictures of around
DTD and Earl of Sandwhich, I hope to have time to try it!!!:)

There's going to be an Earl of Sandwich somewhere in NYC, so that could be rather exciting! We supposedly have other great sandwich places in NY too like 'wichcraft and such, but I love EoS! It probably helps that we're in Disney too, haha.

Mmm, I should expand and try new ones! I love that the soup is so inexpensive (as compared to like, Panera prices!). If there were one really close by, I'd be eating way too many carbs!

Hmmm... I was just deciding if I should try to make it to EOS in September. The HILARIOUS video just convinced me to do it. :thumbsup2 Looks yummy!

You HAVE to! It's so good!

Love Earl of Sandwich. And love the videos. So makes me want to have some right now.

I remember when we thought, "Why are so many people waiting on a line for a sandwich?!?" Yeah, we were so ignorant, haha.

EoS is a must do for us also! Man I'm hungry just watching your first time bites!

Yeah, now that it's over with, I wonder why I didn't just go up to her. I think it'd be fun if a former student came up to me just to say hi even if we were in WDW! I'll keep that in mind for next time because I seem to always bump into people I know!

DTD and Earl of Sandwhich, I hope to have time to try it!!!:)

It's an easy breakfast in that it doesn't require much preparation, but it takes a long time to make all the batches. They don't cook as quickly as regular pancakes. Plus, I always feel like I need a shower afterwards because I feel as greasy as a potato pancake, haha. And yes, try EoS!!!

Tuesday, February 22: Making Our Treats!

I believe after Earl of Sandwich, Howard and I decided to buy all of our things from Mickey's Pantry. Don't worry Michelle/SoonerGirl, I promise to post those pictures later!

Then a few had to make a bathroom stop. Haha, I was talking to Nik, but she was so absorbed in her cell that I was able to get a bunch of pictures of her without her knowing it! She's such a silly, and I love her.

IMG_9023.jpg

We then all went to Goofy's Candy Company. I had explained to the group that we could make our own snacks here. We looked at the pre-made things and were tempted there! Oh man, there were so many things there that looked SO GOOD!

IMG_6793.jpg

I think we contemplated just about everything!

IMG_6794.jpg

Delish!

IMG_9024.jpg

You gotta love the theming of this place.

IMG_6795.jpg

We had fun playing in the mirrors because yes, we are all 6.

IMG_9029.jpg

And I had to record our being 6 years old.

There were tons of things I'd seen in picture but had never really looked at in person. The main reason for that is because this is not the kind of place that my parents explore, haha. They'd say it's a waste of money, but they so don't understand the Disney magic! Sure, technically we could probably make our own treats, but this is an experience!

IMG_6796.jpg

BIG HEAD!

IMG_6797.jpg

Then it came down to actually picking what I wanted to make. In the past, I always thought about making the pretzel rods, but that day, I wasn't in a pretzel-y mood. I was interested in the gingerbread cookie!

IMG_6799.jpg

This is the other version of the picture Howard too where the back is in focus and not me, but I just had to post it to show how I look when I'm thinking. I furrow my brow even when I'm reading and I have to concentrate. I think to some degree it makes my eyes zone in a bit more on the text. Haha, is that weird? I do always look very serious when I'm reading. My mom has pointed that out to me many times!

IMG_6798.jpg

I decided on a gingerbread cookie dipped in milk chocolate and then dipped in walnuts (wanted some sort of nut to cut the sweetness of the chocolate). I also added the dark chocolate drizzle on top. You can see the gingerbread's ears sticking out of the walnuts!

IMG_6801.jpg

And this was the lovely CM who made our goodies! We really liked her!

IMG_6802.jpg

Here she is dipping Howard's treat. He had 3 pretzel rods dipped in dark chocolate and then in almonds. He has a huge thing for almonds.

IMG_6805.jpg

Drizzling chocolate on my treat!

IMG_6806.jpg

It was so cute that we got them in these cute little boxes! I say that because when we went back later in the week so that Dani and Nik could get a treat for their dad to bring home, it was put in a bag instead.

IMG_6809.jpg

Look at him!

IMG_9031.jpg

So ready to come home with me!

IMG_9032.jpg

They ALL were! Well, come home with US.

IMG_9033.jpg

Here's another reason why we loved this CM. Nikki wanted a caramel apple, but she always wanted it dipped in chocolate. She did the little checklist but didn't pick a topping other than chocolate and chocolate drizzle. The CM asked her if she was sure she didn't want anything on it, and Nik said it was just because she wanted chocolate on it. Well, when it was all done, she had the other CM ring it up as a regular caramel apple instead of the make your own treat version of it, thus saving Nik some cash! So sweet of her!

IMG_9034.jpg

I have a video of her making our treats and asking Nik, "That's it?" and when Nik said yes, the CM was like, "That's easy!" Of course, I think the video is too long because it won't even try to upload.

Don't worry ... you can watch the video of us eating our treats! That'll be posted when I get up to our return to the condo later in the day!

We've not done the make-your-own treat ever. Looks good; I'll wait to see if it tasted as good as it looked!

I have never done the make your own treat at Goofy's Candy Co. I may have to give it a try. I've only bought pre-made items before.

OMG I loved the EoS update! Seriously might be my favorite place to eat at Disney World! :lovestruc

Loved the make your own treat, too! :thumbsup2 Looks like fun, except I'd probably go for the pretzel! Can you still do a rice krispy treat? Yum!:cool1:

I still haven't done the 'make your own treats' even though it looks like fun - I always just grab something that's already made :confused3
