Still don't know how you were able to upload them since all I've been told by IT for the past few weeks is that CM comps cannot be entered into MDE.

Hub specifically says NOT to upload them. And only IT or guest relations can set the priority of how they would be used. Who knows, if you park hop, it might even use 2 different ones.

I save my comps for DL trips. They work much better there, with the old FP system.

OK - I have an AP. I have a friend who wants to go with me for the day and he has a relative who is a CM. The CM said he would get him in. He did this before but there was no ticket of any kind used. They just walked up together and entered the park.

How do we get them FP's so they can actually hit the attractions with us?

You can't. They can get FP+ after entering the park only.

Because your Fp+ selections were based on comp e-tickets which means they may not be valid when you attempt to scan your MagicBand at a Fp+ tapstile. Also, some CMs have received reprimands for attempting to link CM ticket media to MDE and MagicBands.

If all the CMs linked these complimentary passes, and then had to wait on guest relations lines to get them prioritized, there would be chaos.

That said, they might be more patient with a guest doing this, that was gifted the pass and claiming ignorance; VS a current CM who should know better what the current rules are….. and not following instructions.

Good luck, like I said, I use mine on DL trips only for now.

11290 and PatMcDuck:

Thanks for the info! Just to clarify, we get in and then the CM and my friend go to customer service counter with that blue card and then get FP or just straight to the kiosk to book?

Appreciate the help.

Straight to the kiosk or an iPad CM. The CM does not have to be with his guest to book Fp+.

Actually, if it is the first time the CM is getting FP's on his Guest Passes, the CM "should" go with the guests as they (CM) will have to assign a "unique name" to the Guest Passes during the FP selection (why I really don't totally understand but it has to be done). I guess they could tell the guest's what they want their Guest Passes to be named ahead of time though and that would work although when we did it in Feb., the kiosk CM said I had to tell them the name. That name will be "forever engraved" on their Guest Passes, not just a one time thing.

If a question, it explains it on the Comp Admissions module on the HUB about "naming" their Guest Passes. I've already forgotten what I named mine last month, will scan them next week and see.

So if I have enough "printed paper" CM PHs for a week could I realistically go to Guest Relations for an RFID card and be able to book my FP+ selections for the entire week, or would I have to go to a kiosk and pick them each day?? Can I even turn my 1-day comps into a 5, 7 or 10-day PH?

Each paper, printed complementary ticket has to be taken to Guest Relations and be exzchanged for a plastic RFID ticket. Whether or not they would make a multiple day ticket, I don't know (doubt it as they would have to key in multiple comp ticket numbers and I doubt the system would take that), that would be up to Guest Relations, although my understanding is that it would be "one comp ticket - one park ticket" .

Could you then link them to FP+ selections, no, the HUB explicitly states to NOT link comps to the MDE app for FP+, as been stated multiple times in this and other threads concerning CM comp tickets and which is readable by the CM both on the HUB and in most break rooms. For CM comp tickets, which this still is, no matter how many there are, you have to go to the kiosk for "day of" FP's.

So if I have 15 one-day comps, I will have to get 15 RFID cards instead of being able to convert them to, let's say, 3 five-day park hoppers? That's ridiculous. Also, I didn't ask if I can make FP+ selections by LINKING my tickets to MDE. In fact, I have stated several tlmes ON THIS THREAD that I know it is not possible. I also understood that I should not try to link them when it was mentioned here the first time. I am not a CM; these tickets were gifted to me, so I can't read about it on the "HUB" or in the "break room." If I had the answers, I wouldn't be asking the questions. What I asked is if I can make my FP+ selections for the week AT ONCE (at a park kiosk) or if I would have to make them "day of." Looks like you have answered that, so thanks. Not the answers I was hoping for...doesn't feel like much of a gift now...

The Comp tickets, even after being converted to RFID cards, don't expire for many months. That's probably why they may not combine them into a multi-day park hopper.

They can be used at other Disney parks: DL, DLP, etc. if you want to save them.

I think Comp tickets are a nice gift especially when you know the person could have given the tickets to anyone but chose you. And, "day of" Fp+ is not a horrible thing. It worked well for us last month and we used CM Guest Passes.

Technically they can be combined onto 1 card. As entitlements are now able to be "stacked"

This is why some people end up using the wrong ticket on the wrong day. The don't realize they have stacked the tickets by linking them to the same person. So ticket A and ticket B and Magicband all read as having ticket A and B. If you want to use ticket B, but they are not prioritized correctly. The gate will take from ticket A EVEN if you touch the plastic Ticket B.

Now finding a CM who knows it can be done and is allowed to be done might be the more difficult part.

This explanation makes sense, thank you. I won't be using the tix elsewhere, but it is good to know that I would still be able to if my plans change (personally, I'd rather go to HK than Orlando this year, but we can't always get what we want). I am VERY grateful that my family member chose me to give his tickets to. It IS a wonderful gift. Good to know that getting FPs "day of" wasn't a big hassle. We will be heading down to WDW during the busy summer months--my worry is that we'll be standing on huge lines each day to get our FPs (and that there won't be anything left for us to pick). We'll just have to deal. We are staying on site--if we had "regular" tix, I would be able to book ahead. But you can't beat free! Hoping that CMs will be able to link their tix to MDE in the future.

For the record, though the novelty of going to HK Disneyland is cool, it's a much smaller park and I felt most of the attractions and areas are really very much geared towards children. I know it's disney but WDW, DL and IMHO even DL Paris have more that adults find enjoyable. Though the phantom manor at HK is an awesome ride. But I might be biased as WDW was the first park I ever went to, and HK was the third. For the must bang for your free buck, WDW is def. the better value as the cm tickets work as park hoppers.
