Great thread, Lenny. Would one of the Comm mods be kind enough to move it to TP? This is just the kind of fun thread we need over there.

I adored King Kong - such a clever attraction. I also loved Horizons and World of Motion, both at Future World (where Mission:Space and Test Track now are, respectively).

P.S. Loving that you still have that tag! I seem to have lost mine somewhere along the way. :(

I loved the back to the future ride

I will also miss Spoodles, we had a great meal there :)

Horizon in Epcot - where you got to choose the ending
Body Wars in Epcot
Mission to Mars in MK

Never got to go to the clubs at Pleasure Island before they closed :(

Claire ;)

Mr Toads Wild Ride

20,000 Leagues under the Sea was the first ride I ever did at WDW :thumbsup2

Discovery Island - a calm oasis with a more natural feel than the rest of WDW.

Im still gutted that the Adventurers club has closed! That was fab!
Comedy Warehouse was also one of my faves!

River Country - Never got to do this but it sounded interesting!

I noticed this year also that Dixie Stampede was closed? - I never went to it (not my cup of tea) but its never nice to see things close.

FAO Schwartz - I always wanted to go inside that place and was so sad to discover it was closed down

French Toast Loaf - I know it sounds odd but I'd read so much about the french toast loaf from Main Street Bakery and was looking forward to actually getting round to trying it, so sad it's gone

Adventurers Club - 'nuff said

We were only talking about this subject the other day - and the two things I miss are both Epcot based. Firstly the Tapestry of Nations parade (which still remains my fave parade) and secondly, the character bus that used to drive around World Showcase

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter! Loved it, sooo scary! Gutted it's now been replaced with a pretty poor (in my opinion) attraction!

Never got to visit the clubs in Pleasure Island, really annoyed about that as it would have been perfect this year as we are staying at SSR! :sad2:

FAO Swartz......Pointe Orlando just doesnt look the same without the big teddy bear!!!

The Mercado....when it was in its prime
The old Cricketers Arms.....the new one is just not the same
The train ride at the Mecardo (trainland?)
King Kong....was always one of my favourites

think they should bring back captain EO as a tribute to Michael Jackson
Paulh

20,000 leagues ( inches) under the sea - DH and I creased up laughing whilst on this ride. there were cheap plastic fish nailed into the underwater scenery :lmao:

also miss the 'discovery island' that you could get a boat ride to and walk around - they closed this when AK opened but I thought it was a nice respite from the crowds of MK.

Also miss the 'gourmet pantry' at DTD. their take-out food was yummy.

ahhhh the memories come flooding back :cloud9:

Yellow ponchos, used to love looking down main street when raining al all you could see was a sea of yellow the clear ones are not the same
Lifetime refill mugs yes when we first stayed on site the mugs were for a lifetime of visits not just length of stay
Paulh

Ghostbusters at Universal
Cypress Gardens - not strictly Orlando though

I wasn't keen on 20,000 leagues and Mr Toads wild ride wasn't as good as Winnie the Pooh for me but I really LOVED the skyway at MK & King Kong at UO & do miss them!!!

and I also LOVED Capt EO (imho better than honey I shrunk the audience) - I agree it would be nice to bring it back as a tribute to MJ!!:lovestruc

Anyone else remember Circus World (near Cypress Gardens)?? - that was a LONG time ago now but I can still picture it - tacky but great!!:goodvibes

I liked skyway (I think it was called that) in MK as it was great seeing the castle from the sky and made for great photos
