:) We are in a similiar situation in Aug. We are staying at the WL when there are six of us, two rooms, then my SIL leaves and we have to move since there will be five us us in one room at the BC.

Can't answer all questions but from what I have learned here: You call bell services and Disney will transfer your luggage to the new resort, be prepared to be w/o it for a while though. Or you can take a cab and bring with you.

I am not sure about taking ME back and forth if you are not traveling. You may need to explain your special circumstances to them, and maybe they'll let you. It may be easier and less time consuming to get a car service for your back and forth.

Resorts: I would try BWI, S/D or BC or YC. You can walk to the Boardwalk and Epcot for meals and fun. Also look into the DTD disney hotels, too. They are very nice also and close to DTD!

good luck deciding and have a wonderful trip!

I can't help with the package stuff and Magical Express because we never use them. I'll give my two cents with the resort at the end.

Totally second the Epcot resort area. More specifically, the Yacht Club. I've stayed at the Swan and it's great but it's not Disney. I've stayed at the Boardwalk and you can get a studio there which was nice at the time because it had a fridge but now all deluxes (and moderates) have fridges. I've stayed at the Beach Club but it seemed to have more kids. Never stayed at the Dolphin and doubt I ever will. *Dolphin lovers will now pounce*.

I've also stayed at the Yacht Club with just my husband. Quieter stay than at the Beach Club. The quiet pool is great and I can't go on enough about that hot tub. Absolute bliss after a day in the parks.

Epcot is there for nice long strolls and visiting the countries (of which you will have probably only seen the KidCot stations). The walk along the canal to the Studios is great, especially at night.

Some of the finer dining places in the Epcot resort area as well. Others can chime in but I really enjoyed the Yachtsmen Steakhouse right there at the Yacht Club.

You also have Spoodles, Flying Fish, Blue Zoo, and Don Shula's. Plus many more. And the wonderful Epcot World Showcase restaurants are just a walk away in the park.

also, any suggestions on a nicer place to stay the last few nights with the wife would be appreciated -- along with good restaurants, etc. Basically trying to give us time to do things we couldn't do with the kids....

Go to the YC...super quiet and relaxing. Plus the Yachtsman is right there and the food is so good

I have no idea about the ME information, but I can offer my two cents about the resorts with your spouse. I love the Epcot resort area as well - YC/BC/BWI are all great. I also want to throw the monorail resorts into the pool. If you want you can get a MK view which is very romantic. Watching Wishes from your room is lovely. (Even without the MK view, the resorts are great!) Also, my hands-down favorite romantic restaurant is California Grill  (Contemporary). If you are at any of the monorail resorts, it is a quick trip over. You can watch Wishes from there - and it is magnificent.

I hope you have fun!

You can add a few days to just the two park tickets very easily with the lobby concierge or at any of the ticket booths.

You will not be able to have the dining plan for the second stay if you do the extended ticket move. DDP is only available as part of a package including room and tickets.

We had to buy 1 day tix on our 2nd hotel so we could do the ddp the second half of the trip. It made sense for us because of the kids but for just 2 I would have paid cash for those meals instead of buying a 1 day ticket (which I still have because I didn't use it and planned to save it for another trip...but booked a package with the ddp again.)

The moving part was not hard, the ddp and tix was a pain. Skip the ddp the 2nd half and just extend the tix for you two.

Have fun!

First hotel package I paid about $8 to add 4 days to my 4 day tix. I used those 8 day tickets the entire trip.

Second hotel package I bought 1 day tix but never used it (I then had 2 key cards. 1 for the room and 1 for my tix) I still have the card from the 2nd hotel with my 1 day tix (It does not expire because I never used the card)

I paid the 8 night park hopper rate for the tix on the first card
I paid the 1 day / 1 park on the second stay

I paid for the dining plan on both stays.

It cost me about $60 per adult to have the "extra ticket" but over 8 days we more than saved that with the dining plan (esp since that was when appies and tip used to be included.)

Figure the math and go for it if it works for you...even think about the deluxe dining plan, if it were just hubby and I that would be a fun one!

You would have to book it all at once to get the dining plan. For some reason a room only is very different than a room with tickets and dining. So if you book one and want the other you have to cancel and start over (been there, done that!)

Do you have a AAA membership? You can get a discount on the room portion of a package if you book with AAA Vacations and you can still do the 1 day ticket with deluxe dining. They do not restrict tickets to length of stay. (You must book through AAA to get the discount on the room part of a package. If you book with Disney and use the AAA discount you will not be able to add tickets/dining later.)

If any TA gives you a headache about your plan hang-up and call another one. You can do what you are asking and they should know that if they are good at Disney bookings.

Let me know if I can help in any way. I messed up my ressie so bad last time because of the ddp and split thing that I could now call and book it in my sleep.

If you do book two separate reservations, then it should be no problem for you to ride DME to the airport with your children then back again. For the ride to the airport, give them the flight # that your children are on for all of you. You all board DME, your children's bags can be checked with RAC if on an airline that participates or they can be transported on the bus and checked at the airport. Give your bags to bell services and they will be moved to the new resort.

For your return to the new resort, give the reservations folks "any" flight number that arrives about the time you think you'll want to board the DME bus. After you get your children delivered safely to their gate, grandma, or whatever, then walk back down to DME, give them your boarding passes for the new reservation, then you will be directed to a bus. You will be taken to your new resort where you can check in, then begin your adult getaway.

Don't forget, those two 1-day tickets will never expire if you don't use them, and will be good towards future ticket purchases. (If you wait long enough, they will be worth more than you paid for them, because it's Disney policy to give you credit of what the then current price is)
