May 25, 2911 * Day 35

Packed and out the door at 7:00am, this day was going to be problem-free and perfect. John took our bags one direction, but the boys and I headed off into the resort. My decision not to return to Pop for a while was set, but one detail needed to be taken care of. Our annual Potato Head picture would be slightly early, but it was close enough to their birthdays that it would work. How much could they really change in nineteen days anyway?

Despite my insistence that Pop Century really isn’t as big as some would like you to think, this day it must’ve doubled in size. We took the sidewalk along the water and were soon completely lost. I didn’t remember finding those potatoes to be such a project! Luckily, there were lost of bunnies and ducks to make the journey fun.

CIMG2183.jpg

The boys weren’t very interested in posing for their pics with Mister Potato Head’s hand, but I think it went well enough. I can’t believe how fast they’re growing!!

And my comparison pics!!

Andrew through the years..

And Blakers through the years...

It's going so fast!

Turning back to the Fifties, John met us halfway and we loaded into the car. It was DHS time!

CIMG2189.jpg

DHS had AM EMH this day, something we’d never experienced before. I’d read wonderful things about being able to ride TSM twice in that time, but it wouldn’t be happening this day! The crowd gathered in the street was just as intimidating as a regular park opening. It was no problem, Andrew and I didn’t have TSM on the brain anyway. The new Star Tours had been up and running so we couldn’t wait to check it out first!

We split from our family and raced over to another rope closer to our destination. Soon enough, the park was open and it was Star Tours time!

CIMG2202.jpg

*Andrew pic!*

The line was long when we made it, but neither of us cared. This would be worth the wait. After quite a while of not moving, it became apparent that something was up with the ride. We didn’t budge and watched several guests give up on it completely. Blake and John joined us, with TSM FPs in hand, long before we began to inch forward!

Thirty-six minutes after joining the line, we finally made it in the building!

CIMG2225.jpg

CIMG2229.jpg

Despite the long wait starting our day, everyone was so excited as we walked through the queue. Andrew waved to C3PO and pointed out a character’s silhouette as they walked by above us. My Star Wars knowledge is lacking, but I really liked that part of it!

Finally in our seats, Andrew was in love with the 3d glasses and hurried to put his on. Our voyage was so much fun and took us to the Wookie planet, whatever it might be called. I think C3PO is adorable and a much better pilot than whoever that was before. (Plus it’s nice to know who it was! Haha!!) We were both instantly in love with the changes and planned to ride this one as much as possible! Andrew told me I needed to watch the movies a few more times before we come back! He’s silly.. but I did listen! (& I'm still clueless!)

Blake and John were checking out some Star Wars Potato Heads in the shop when our ride was done. It was nearly time for that mystery breakfast, but we had a small stop first. It didn’t seem that the CM at Everything Pop had run our snacks through correctly the night before and I was uncertain about what was left. Planning to let the boys load up on treats to bring home, this was important to keep up on. We were off to guest services yet again, but this time I wasn’t worried much.

Along the way, Andrew practiced his “balancing walking” along the edge of a sidewalk. He’s usually quite good at it, and would make a nice little tight rope walker. Sadly, this day his skills were off. At the end of the sidewalk, my little man tripped and scraped his knee. Instant water works! Andrew can’t stand the sight of blood, and I don’t blame him. I don’t like it either! This was only a scrape, but did bleed a bit. His reaction would have you believing he’d broken every bone in his little body. He cried and limped, fully believing that he might never walk again. No amount of cuddles and kisses could cure this one. He needed immediate medical attention! John scooped him up and headed to first aid.

Knowing Andrew was really just fine, Blake and I journeyed on to guest services. I have one thing to say about DHS guest services… it must be a tough place to work. Everyone in here always looks miserable, never really smiling. I don’t quite understand it, and we make every effort to avoid the place. It’s sad to me, because there have been quite a few DHS CMs that I’d leave compliments about if it weren’t so painful to walk in there. (Yes, I could email when we get home, but I’d rather do this at the parks.)

Anyway, I walked in and approached a grumpy CM. I can’t imagine that they could’ve had too many difficult guests so early in the morning. She was rude and simply thrust a piece of paper with our scribbled balances on it. Not a word was said. Oh well. I wished her a nice day and walked to first aid.

Those inside the first aid station were in much brighter moods. Andrew resists the idea of bandages with everything he’s got when John and I bring them up. With this woman, he wasn’t hesitant at all and she cheerfully took care of his injury. It didn’t really need a bandage, but I hoped having it covered might stop the tears. It worked well enough and she had him laughing and smiling. That bandage would unfortunately serve as a constant reminder of how he nearly lost his leg so our problems weren’t over just yet. He limped out of the building and begged Blake to switch roles so he could be the stroller kid. Little brother obliged. So much drama!

What time is it? It’s time for breakfast!

We’d all enjoyed bananas and juice in the room, but our tummies were grumbling and ready for something new. When facing the extra TS credit issue the evening before, there weren’t many “kid” restaurants available. My choices were the princess meal in Norway at Epcot, or Hollywood & Vine here at DHS. I’d never had any interest in this one, but Blake's new Little Einstein love had me sold on it now. The fact that we could only meet Oso here would be perfect for Andrew. He’d be able to collect a new autograph for his book! I didn’t have the highest expectations, but thought the boys would enjoy this one.

CIMG2238.jpg

We checked in and found some seats outside to wait. We only had about ten minutes until being called, so Blake enjoyed playing around a pole.

CIMG2243.jpg

Our server fit the theme of waitresses we get at Disney. It was more comical than annoying, but she did pull the same chocolate milk assumption that our Ohana waitress had. Is it so rare that a child requests white milk? They certainly made me think so! We had it corrected soon. Being a buffet, she wasn’t around much and forgotten about. We really enjoyed this one.

The food reviews for this place have been some of the worst I’ve read. Isn’t that true of all DHS restaurants? ;) I couldn’t imagine how they could really mess up a breakfast buffet though. It was the same food as all the other character breakfasts! I actually enjoyed this meal more than the ‘Ohana breakfast. The food was fresh and tasty for a buffet. I do love my breakfast buffets!

As soon as we were digging into our plates, the characters began to arrive!

CIMG2251.jpg

Blake was excited to see Leo, but absolutely thrilled to see June again! I think she just might be the little guy’s favorite Einstein!

CIMG2253.jpg

Andrew informed June that she was NOT his mom’s favorite Einstein and said it was sad that Quincy didn’t get to have breakfast. June laughed and pointed outside. We could still find Quincy by the Disney Junior show!

After June danced away, it was party time! A CM began to gather children to participate and dance. Andrew hopped down and raced to the group. Little Blakers decided the Ohana project was enough mealtime excitement for one trip and kept glued to his seat. He did enjoy watching anyway, and pointed out that the CM in charge was one we’d seen at the Disney Junior show.

CIMG2261.jpg

CIMG2268.jpg

Andrew loved this! He ran back to the table with a huge smile and thanked me for planning this one. Even though he said these characters were for babies, it was obvious that he loved it. I couldn’t believe how much all of us were enjoying this one.

CIMG2270.jpg

CIMG2273.jpg

I cannot resist doing this..

Handy Manny stopped for a quick visit next, with the big star of the show joining us last. Special Agent Oso is far from my favorite Disney Junior character, but the boys were thrilled to see him and collect this autograph.

What an unexpected hit!

Glad you had such a great recent trip! I sure hope you tack it onto the end of this!

Love the potato head through-the-years pictures! So cool to see the differences in the boys!

Glad your spontaneous breakfast went well! I know nothing about those characters, but sounds like everyone had a great time!

Yay!! I'm glad this day is going better than the last one!! :-)

So were we! ;)

Our visit this month was so perfect! The Osborne lights were especially awesome with the new canopy. I remember not being super impressed the first year I saw them, but this time I didn't want to leave that street for anything! I wish we could go back today!

Andrew's right about these characters. They're all for "babies" so I'm sure a lot of people don't know them. I don't think the boys have even watched any of these shows in ages.

The boys' Mr. Potato Head pictures over the years are fabulous! What great memories!!!

I saw your mention of the Osborne Lights in your most recent reply....I'm VERY excited because they actually extend into our trip! Hoping to get to the park Saturday night after the half marathon to check them out! We saw them last Christmas and loved it!

We took a walk around Pop before leaving and I caught a pic of Andrew by that Potato hand again.. Wow.. He has reeeally grown since this update! I do like these pictures. :goodvibes

Super awesome that the lights will be up when you're there!! I hope you make it to the park to check them out!! The canopy was just nifty and fun to watch. Andrew reeeeally got into it all, too.

(video)

I didn't realize John was recording him until I uploaded the pictures when we got back. Andy-Roo is too silly. He says he was directing which lights should change.

Stopping in to wish your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The pictures of the boys "over the years" is really neat! :worship: We can see them growing, but having them in the same place helps to see it more!

Andy-Roo is quite the conductor!

Glad your latest trip to Disney World was good!

Merry Christmas back to you & yours'! I can't believe it's almost here! :yay:

Andrew had a blast with those lights and it was sooo nice to be back at Disney for the weekend! :thumbsup2

CIMG2292.jpg

After breakfast, we decided to take our time until our TSM FPs were ready. We were already able to collect another set, so the exploration would pass by Star Tours before anything else. The line here was so long! It made me laugh to think of how this ride had been before the changes. Big difference! Andrew and I couldn’t wait to try it out again later.

As we walked around, the boys spotted something important. We knew that Phineas & Ferb would be coming to the park, but were twice as excited over a chance to meet them after seeing this!

CIMG2297.jpg

CIMG2301.jpg

^exactly like one side of the posters they were given during Pixar Weekend! They’re both up in the boys’ room right now. :)

We saw some of the set up for Star Wars Weekends in spots, so the boys posed for some pictures. We didn’t have any plans to check out the Star Wars stuff this year.

CIMG2303.jpg

DSC01246.jpg

By the time we made the loop around the park to Pixar Place, it was Toy Story time! Blake got first ride since he hadn’t been on anything yet this day.

CIMG2323.jpg

CIMG2335.jpg

^ I LOVE that!

CIMG2343.jpg

Andrew’s turn came next, of course, but I don’t remember how anyone did on this. I don’t make a point to take a score pic here as I’ve mentioned before, but I did note that I was beaten by someone in the car beside us both times!

We decided to check out some other DHS favorites on this side of the park and head to the animation building. The drawing class was just filling up, so John & Andrew joined the holding area to wait for the next one. This left Blake and me to find something to do. We walked down the stairs to play.

Winnie the Pooh had replaced Lotso since we were here last, so that was definitely a priority for the both of us. Blakers was thrilled over the new movie, especially how the trailer made it look so focused on his favorite friend, Eeyore!

CIMG2349.jpg

CIMG2351.jpg

The line was pretty long, but not too bad. The walls were so cute with the new movie decoration that we really enjoyed waiting. The screen in the corner was adorable to watch, too. It was showing a character being drawn which Blake turned into a guessing game. Who were they making? It was just the lines filling in, so not the most difficult game. Even so, silly Blakers managed to beat me every stinkin time! ;)

As our turn drew near, the line guarding CM caught Blake’s attention. She wanted to know his favorite character, but the little guy clammed up. He’s so shy sometimes! Each character she suggested just got a nod and a half smile. It was sweet, but he sure was glad when his turn came. Pooh doesn’t require a lot of chatting.

CIMG2360.jpg

Pooh pointed out that he and Blake were wearing the same color shirt. Blakers thought that was pretty cool, but the little guy was more interested in why Piglet seemed stuck in a bee hive! Haha.. We all thought the movie wasn’t that great (totally a repeat of Pooh’s Grand Adventure in sooo many ways, right??) but it sweet how they had it made up in here!

CIMG2363.jpg

CIMG2376.jpg

We played with the rest of the games in here to fill the time. It seems like we didn’t do much, but Blake loves it here. He was happy so I was happy! We recorded ourselves trying to sing “A very merry unbirthday” with the Mad Hatter. It didn’t go terribly well, but was fun trying!

CIMG2364.jpg

Even after exploring all the fun stuff down here once again, we still had a bit of time to fill before that drawing class was finished. Checking over show times, we’d be able to get to the next Disney Junior show if we hurried, so out the building we ran!

Coming in late, we grabbed a spot on the floor in the back, in the center section. With no super tall guests in front of us, it was perfect! Blake hopped on my lap and loved every minute of the show. He really gets excited over the part with Jake. When the gold fell from the sky, he was sure to to collect an extra shiny doubloon for brother to “grab ‘em and go” later! :)

Our show ran just a bit longer than needed, so John and Andrew were waiting on US outside! They showed off their newest works of art, but I no longer remember which character was drawn that day. I didn’t write this one down. :sad1:

Our Star Tours FP turn would be up next, but with a little detour at Sci Fi first. We were all really loving our DHS favorites this day and didn’t really want to leave for our late lunch. I hoped to do a last minute switch for Sci Fi over Yak & Yeti, but it wasn’t meant to be. John inquired and found that we could eat here, but we wouldn’t be able to get a car. Boo! Who wants to sit at a table at this one? Not us! We decided to stick with that AK adventure for now.

CIMG2377.jpg

Star Tours was just as much fun the second time as it was the first. On this adventure, we joined a pod race! This was huge for Andrew, as it’s something he honestly thinks he’d be good at. Haha!! This time it did turn my tummy a bit though, so it was okay that we wouldn’t be getting another ride that day.

Next Up.. The Great Movie Ride!

CIMG2383.jpg

We were lucky, I think, and were in the first row after the CM. This was a first for us to be so close to the front. The boys were excited over it, but one would quickly change his tune as the ride went on. We got the usual routine with the gangster, and I think it was a bit much for Blakers. She turned and looked down at him for the “What are you looking at?” line. Not a good idea! The little guy was terrified! We reassured him, but he sat very still for the ride! Blake would claim that he hadn’t been scared a bit when it was over. Such a tough guy..

That was it for the DHS portion of this day, but the fun isn’t over yet! We never have managed the “four parks in a day” but this one will hit three!

CIMG2384.jpg

Pic on the way out.. Andrew LOVES this movie!

That video of Andrew is great, he looks like he was having such a great time!!!! I think we definitely WILL make it to see the lights! My plan right now is to go on our arrival day, as long as we don't have any issues picking up our package tickets a few days early! Can't wait!

I'm glad to hear the updated Star Tours is so much fun. Ben loves Star Wars and I'm sure my dad and brother will enjoy the ride as well. The old one made me a little "sea sick" LOL, so I'm a little nervous for myself, but I think I should be able to handle it once or twice!

Cute picture of Blake with Pooh. The new meet and greet area looks adorable!

I love how Blake claimed that he wasn't scared on the Great Movie Ride! Such a brave little guy!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family! I hope Santa is good to you! :santa:

Yay! You'll love 'em! I think you'll be just fine on Star Tours, too. It gets to my tummy sometimes, but nothing terribly bad. It is sooo much fun! I could ride it again and again now, just to see if we get something different.

And MERRY CHRISTMAS back to you and yours'! I can't believe it's already here!! The boys are tucked into bed now, so I'm waiting for them to settle while watching A Christmas Story. This movie makes my husband nuts. I just let it play over and over during the 24 hours on television. It's almost Santa time!! :santa:

Animal Kingdom was planned to be short and sweet from the start. Getting out of the car, we raced to a waiting tram without bothering with the stroller. It would be a big first, but we wouldn’t be doing anything that Blake couldn’t handle here. He was thrilled with being a walking boy!

CIMG2389.jpg

Our ADR time was creeping up so it was a path straight to Yak & Yeti to check in. As we walked along, I began to think that maybe AK wouldn't be the best park to pick for the little guy’s first no stroller experience, but he handled this short trip just fine.

CIMG2394.jpg

Checking in, we saw where most of the crowd must’ve been. It was packed in here! I gave our name and found a spot in the mess to wait. Having an actual ADR, we were called back before everyone else in there. Awesome!

CIMG2398.jpg

We were seated upstairs and listened to the CM explain how the ddxp works here. As Yak & Yeti isn’t Disney owned, things would be slightly different. We’d each get an appetizer like any other Disney TS restaurant on the plan, but at this particular spot Andrew wasn’t restricted to the kids’ menu. The CM suggested choosing an adult appetizer and entrée instead, and that he’d bring extra plates for Blake. We’d just need to purchase Blake’s drink separately. I couldn’t believe this one really. Not the drink purchase, but the fact that Andy-Roo had the ability to choose anything on the menu. I’d never read that one anywhere! We’d been here on the regular ddp and this was never brought up. Maybe it’s just with the ddxp? He could’ve been completely wrong about it, too! Either way, we took advantage of it.

For appetizers, we decided to use two on the Dim Sum Basket for Two, and the third went to the wok fried green beans. I guessed all of the options might turn up something Andrew would be excited over. He’s hardly the most adventurous eater at times and was in a super picky food mood that day.

CIMG2402.jpg

CIMG2403.jpg

Guess I lost my focus for a minute.. ;)

Everything was great, but Andrew would only nibble one green bean and declare it all too icky to touch. Blake didn’t agree and was in love with the dipping sauce. They made me miss the fried zucchini I used to get at Ruby Tuesday. It was a little odd, but I guess fried & green was enough to inspire the memory. I was completely addicted to the stuff when expecting Andrew and there just happened to be one on the way to Babies r' Us. Perfect! I haven't had the stuff since. :sad1:

For entrees, John and I stuck with the usual favorites. He took the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp and I chose the crispy honey chicken. The boys split the sweet & sour chicken. Andrew was happy with that part of the meal anyway. Dessert didn’t change either. We both went with the won tons, and they were sooo good this visit. The strawberries were my favorite part of the entire, so sweet and fresh. I may have stolen a couple from John’s plate.. He didn’t mind. With all the food of this day, no one was finishing any of these meals! The boys didn’t even care to finish their dessert either!

At the end of our meal, I inquired about using a Disney gift card for Blake’s drink. I had one with just a few dollars on it, so it would be perfect to finally get rid of it. I always seem to carry around nearly depleted gift cards, forgetting to ever use them up. The CM said it was no problem, but it would take a few minutes. Fine with us, he ran off with the card.

The few minutes turned into ten and Blakers needed a potty break. John took him while Andrew and I waited at the table. A bit later, the parade started to pass by!

CIMG2409.jpg

Just after John returned with Blake, the CM came back to our table. He apologized for the wait, saying again that it just takes some time since they’re not Disney owned. We thanked him and it wasn’t an issue at all. Then I started to pull out the receipts and slip cash in the folder when he walked away. John got Blakers up to go and commented on what I was doing.

“Why didn’t you just pay for the milk in cash, too?”

Hmm.. He had a point there, huh? At least the card was under a buck now! Guess what.. I’m still carrying that card around today. With the remaining couple of dollars on Andrew’s gift card, of course! Maybe we shouldn’t do gift cards after all… I would definitely suggest skipping them here anyway!

CIMG2422.jpg

We caught the last few moments of the parade outside, with Andrew insisting that Mickey waved to him. Turning to leave the park, our stroller skipping idea was failing. Blakers was dragging and obviously ready for a break. Before we made it back to the tram, he was riding on John’s shoulders. We’d have a tough decision to make once he was buckled into his car seat again!

Blake was sleeping before we made it outside of AK’s parking lot. Things didn’t look very promising for my evening MK plans, but we had a mini family meeting anyway. Andrew was certain he could handle one more park and made sure to remind us all about that castle show we’d not seen. With Blake napping, we decided to run with it and see what happened. It was easy enough to slip him into his stroller when the car stopped, so his nap could continue into the park. The little guy is a deep sleeper, and had always managed to nap just fine when we walked around before. We always had the option to leave the park.

It was decided. This day would get an MK ending!

At the TTC, we split up. Blake couldn’t ride in his stroller on the tram, of course. Andrew and I hopped on one that had just stopped and easily beat John. We were parked pretty far back.

CIMG2428.jpg

We waited, checking out all the Star Wars signs and all took the monorail across.

CIMG2440.jpg

A couple of my boys looked purdy tired! I hoped we weren’t pushing things too much..

CIMG2445.jpg

Blake was still resting when we made it into the park, so we split up again. John said he’d hang out in Casey’s and watch cartoons (and drink coffee, I’m sure!) while the little guy napped. Andrew and I were taking advantage of the ten minute wait for the princesses!

The wait was a lot of fun, with princess movie trivia on the screens around us. I was proud of myself for getting every question right, despite all the incorrect answers being shouted out around me. Yay. I watch too many cartoons, I think. The ten minutes did turn into fifteen, but the wait wasn’t bad at all.

Andrew insisted this was for autograph purposes, but he had a really nice time meeting them all. Most talked about his shirt, as they all seem to. Belle was extra sweet and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

CIMG2449.jpg

CIMG2454.jpg

CIMG2456.jpg

Meeting John and Blake in Casey’s, the little guy was now rested and waking again. He was still in that “just woke up” fog, and lost in Goofy’s silly sports cartoons. When he caught sight of brother’s face, those Blaker eyebrows lower and he became concerned. What was wrong with brother?? He pulled Andrew close and studied his cheek. Andy-Roo just giggled and said a silly princess had smooched him. It was good enough for Blake. I loved how worried he was over that red spot. He thought brother had gotten an injury during that nap!

Walking into the park, we decided Tomorrowland would be perfect for the moment. We didn’t make it very far before something blocked our path..

CIMG2459.jpg

Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! We waited at the edge of the sidewalk to see the characters pass..

CIMG2463.jpg

CIMG2465.jpg

A young girl, maybe in her early teens, was standing beside me as it went by. She was texting away on her phone and not paying attention to a bit of it. I found it a little sad, but didn’t judge too much. Maybe she’d seen this a thousand times before, or that message was super important.. Who knows! Woody wasn’t quite so understanding and had me cracking up when he noticed her. Seeing the girl ignoring him for a phone, he began to mock her! He pointed her way a couple of times and then began to feverishly text up a storm on an imaginary phone. It was awesome! She didn’t even have a clue he’d done it, but I couldn’t stop laughing over it!

Crossing into Tomorrowland, it was time for battle once again. I suggested a FP set, assuming the wait would a bit long for Buzz. John said I was silly and we should check the standby before ever grabbing them this late in the day. I let him win and we kept walking. It was only fifteen minutes! I suppose that is kinda long for a Buzz wait for us, but it was good enough. Andrew and I joined in the line alone after Blake asked not to ride right now. He was too comfy in the stroller and not interested in changing that yet. He and John went for a walk while we were gone.

The fifteen minute wait was nearly exact, even though I guessed it had to be more. The line was wrapped around the side of the building. Along the way, we witnessed a bit of bird drama! Lots of guests were yelling at each other not to touch something, but we weren’t sure what going on. As the line moved, “it” came into view. A teeny little bird was lying helplessly on the ground! The sweet animal was moving around, but having a tough time of it. Someone claimed it had fallen. Just as we neared, a CM rushed over to check things out. She covered the tiny thing and carefully took it away.

CIMG2470.jpg

Poor little birdy! Andrew and I both hoped that it was okay!!

Finally on the ride, this would be a memorable Buzz experience. In fact, it is the one that is brought up every ride after and anytime someone mentions the ride at home. I’m smiling at the thought right now!

I was doing pretty well. By the next to the last room, my score was sitting at 857,000. It wasn’t the perfect score that I’d been striving for, but it was a finish I could live with. Andrew’s score was even better than usual. He hadn’t hit any of the magic 100,000 spots, but did well with some others. We congratulated each other on a game well played and positioned the car to catch the few final points we could.

Then.. The ride stopped!

We both LOVE when this happens. Now, I do realize it’s technically cheating in a sense, but we weren’t the one to pause the game. If you can keep shooting, you’d be a fool not to! My heart starts racing each time there’s a slight pause. I fired away and easily hit my maxed out score in no time!

CIMG2473.jpg

Woo Hoo! Andrew stopped shooting and gave me a high five!

“Why aren’t you shooting?? Keep going!!!”

Andrew concentrated and aimed right at a 10,000 spot. He fired perfectly, hitting the mark again and again. I watched his score climb higher and hoped we’d be stuck long enough for some real magic.

I snapped a picture of his target and cheered him on..

CIMG2474.jpg

He began to miss his mark. Oh no! That little thumb was getting tired.

“Mommy, help!!”

He was so close! I turned the gun towards the magic spot and instructed him to keep firing! This ride could move at any minute!!

Then it happened..

CIMG2475.jpg

Woo Hoo! The ride would begin to move again soon and we both agreed Mickey must’ve been behind it from the start. He made us worry just enough and then tossed the pixie dust on our car. Two maxed out scores!! It’s in our Disney record books, for sure! The pic of his score is my FAVORITE Buzz score picture ever! :woohoo:

CIMG2476.jpg

CIMG2480.jpg

CIMG2484.jpg

Take that, Zurg!!

Woohoo for perfect scores!!! Andrew must have been sooo excited! I am absolutely terrible at Buzz...but your family's excitement over it has made me want to give it another chance on this next trip! I'm going to have to look up all the secret spots so I can *hopefully* beat Ben!!!

Sometimes I wish I could ride in a stroller and be as comfy as Blake! Too cute that he was concerned about Andrew's cheek!

How awesome, right? :woohoo: Andrew was going crazy! I became obsessed with this one after watching a cheat video on one of Dugette's TRs. I don't remember where it was, but there are so many out there. It's too fun!

It must be nice to be a little one sometimes, right? I'm with you on the stroller thing! He was super sweet about Andrew's Belle kiss. :)

We couldn’t wait to tell John and Blake about this amazing victory over Zurg. Two perfect scores would never be forgotten! Andrew raced ahead and jumped up and down as he announced all the 9’s. John didn’t believe it at first, which only made the little guy get even crazier. He had me show the pictures as proof. I loved seeing how excited Andrew was!

“Now we’re tied!” he declared, turning his excitement back to me.

Andrew went on to explain. No matter how many times I may have beaten him in the past, one perfect 999,999 held the power to erase them all. We’d start the again with a clean slate. He’s so silly. I told him it made perfect sense, but he’d better watch out next time!

Blake was ready to abandon that stroller finally and interrupted the celebration with a ride request. He wanted the Peoplemover, which we were all more than happy to ride with him. Going up the ramp, he began to sing.

“There’s a great big, beautiful tomorrooowww…” he stopped. “I think I mean Carousel of Progress!”

Silly boy. We promised to take care of his show as soon as this one was done!

The Peoplemover was its usual relaxing fun, with a nice train spotting along the way. We all love that part. No matter who you are, people on a train will wave to you. Love it!

On the ground again, it was CoP time. Blake sang all the way to the door, pausing only to express how sad he was about the sign change. We all hoped this wasn't a permanent thing!

And we all know now that it wasn’t. ;)

After CoP, we grabbed a snack at Sleepy Hollow and prepared our game plan for the rest of the day.

^Those drinks are too yummy! Andrew loves 'em! Liberty Swirl Slush or twist or something like that? Either way, the CMs always seem to correct with something other than what's printed on the sign when I order one. :confused3

We’d never managed to see the new “Magic, Memories, and You!” show, but tonight would change that. This was the first evening we’d managed to stay late enough at MK to accomplish such a goal, but some planning was in order. After our snack, we decided to find a spot in front of the castle and camp out until show time. Guessing crowds would be an issue before and after, Wishes was even added to the night!

CIMG2544.jpg

Finding a spot proved to be problem free. We managed a nice location and sat to wait. It was uneventful until a small family took the space beside us. The father of the group smelled sooo bad! Ugh! I think I’d rather deal with rude parade people than spend a long wait beside a smelly person. We adjusted a bit to scoot away a little, but it was quite some time before the wind agreed with the idea.

Dancing Andrew!

As the show time neared, smelly man had another issue. I heard something fall and turned to see the man had dropped a bottle of soda. The sticky stuff poured out onto the ground as he watched. Glancing at the woman in front of him, I froze for a moment, simply to satisfy my curiosity. How would he handle this? I wasn’t about to stand by and let his messy drink make its way to her!

Stinky just watched the soda inch closer and closer to the woman, only shifting his own feet to keep them dry. What a nasty person! I grabbed a package of baby wipes from the stroller and got her attention. We quickly cleaned it up. Problem solved, Smelly thanked me. I still can’t believe he was just going to sit there and watch this. His family had a decent stack of napkins that would have done wonders, too!

Show Time!

The show was pretty neat. I reeeeally wished that CM up front selling all the light up stuff would’ve picked another location. When things would go dark, that ridiculous skull toy was still blinking away! It was a huge distraction, but seemed to entertain Andrew at times. Super annoying!

The changes to the castle were so nifty. I didn’t think I’d like this thing in the least when I first read about it. Watching strangers on “my” beautiful castle? How dare they ruin it like this! After seeing it, I could’ve done without all the people pictures still, but it was pretty fun! :thumbsup2

Soon enough, it was time for Wishes!

Our spot was terrible for the fireworks! We were just way too close to the castle and we couldn’t even see some of them. It became quite humorous and we laughed through the show. Andrew liked shouting out where he almost saw one. We’d been up here for fireworks once before so we knew how it went, but this time was too hilarious.

Just as the ending faded away, the crowd began to stampede to the exit. That’s always such an adventure! We made our way through and slipped into the crowded Confectionery. The boys had snack credits to burn, so we spent the rest of our Disney day drooling over snack options and letting them pick their favorites. Andrew made fudge requests, with Blake gaga over big bags of cotton candy. They both wanted these M&M creations, but I would never recommend the things. They were like rocks! None of the snacks would be eaten until we got home, so maybe that was a factor. They were solid chocolate though!

I know Andrew only chose fudge because of the teeny tiny plastic knife. Haha.. He’s allowed to cut his fudge and thinks it’s the greatest “adult” thing!

That was it for Disney Day #35! We followed the crowd to ferry, with lots of drama along the way. People shouted, pushed, screamed, and whined. All you can do is go with it and hope you survive sometimes! John controls the stroller and I’m usually glued to his side. Andrew held on tight to the stroller and my hand. I can’t believe we’ve managed to never get separated in one of these messes.

We watched a small child pushing a stroller as his mother yelled at others to get out of her way. In the huge mass of people, it seemed one of those things that just makes you stop and stare. The boy was barely tall enough to see over it! You can imagine what happened when someone dared say that an adult might do better being in control of that baby stroller! Yikes! She didn't like it and her husband looked ready to pounce on anyone who looked at them. Scary! Luckily, everyone made it across the lagoon in one piece.

The tram lines at the TTC were even worse, but the CMs were really moving guests along. We guessed joining the lines would have us at least three trams of waiting time, and chose to walk it. Surprisingly, even with our near the back of lot spot, we beat ‘em!

Next Up!!! Happy Birthday Boys!! We’re headed to POR for the big birthday trip 2011!

What a great rest of the day!! And those buzz scores!!! Awesome!!! :-)
Now that Christmas is over I am FINALLY getting excited about our trip! And reading this day in your TR really is making me even more excited. Just the thought that soon I can walk thru magic kingdom and stop and watch the parade for a minute as it passes, and carousel of progress, and i really hope that the Magic, Memories, and You show is still going! That will be new for us! And this trip I am riding that train all the way around the park!! I really hope I don't forget! Oh boy!! So excited!! :-D

Seems like a perfect end to a perfect Disney day to me!!!

I love the picture of Andrew's princess kiss!

I haven't seen the Magic, Memories and You show....I wonder if it will still be running in January? (9 days by the way!!) I feel kind of like you and have mixed feelings about it, but all the pictures I've seen make it look very well done so maybe I would like if after all?!?

Thanks for the warning about that M&M dessert...it is just the kind of thing that would suck me in!!!
