I find Andrew's reactions to the different scenes at Carousel of Progress to be hysterical!! No wonder you enjoy riding it!!

It is the Up characters that make the parade for me. I love that movie so much!

I'm sorry! :sad1: I love that this is your favorite thing though! Start planning a trip! Andrew isn't a fan of this one, so we don't manage it much. We once planned a Disney Day because he "owed" me a visit to Mickey's Philharmagic and we didn't even do it! :sad2: What's your favorite part? Blake goes wild over the Ariel scene.

We're tentatively planning a trip to DL next. We keep talking about doing it in September but it'll really depend on our money situation at the time. Sadly, no Mickey's Philharmagic at Disneyland! :sad1: We also keep discussing hitting Star Wars Weekends but again...money...and that one is much closer so more unlikely...
ah well...eventually!
Anyway, I think my favorite part is when we fly with Aladdin and Jasmine thru the market place. It feels like we're really flying! I also love Ariel when the jewels come out and it looks like you could touch them and I love Be Our Guest cause of all the 4D things that happen during it (the champagne corks and "the gray stuff") Ok, basically I love the whole thing!

They do really make that show fun!

Up is one of the best, isn't it?? We watched it today, totally inspired by you mentioning that parade. Have you ever noticed the grape soda cap for sale in the parks anywhere? I've wanted one, but it's another thing on the list of stuff I forget once we're there!

Still sticking to stopping the APs? I just moved around some plans to fit in Pixar Weekend. Thank you sooo much for mentioning it. I may have missed it! I'm going to give my poor husband a headache with all these Disney changes! He'll get over it, right? We were originally going to spend the first half of that week at Pop, but so much for that! I'll fit it somewhere else. (I hope!)

Oh, right. I'm jealous. Even if it's far off, you're getting to go to DL! Have you been before? (I can't remember..) There are so many rides there that I'm dying to get a chance to see. Just going by the pics Jennifer (jen22984 aka person who I know reads the DIS but won't finish her TR!) posts on FB, the theme of some stuff seems sooo much better out there! I wish we could pull that one, but CA is soooo far away. I'll put it on my dream "someday" list. Have bunches of fun, no matter where you end up. :thumbsup2

LOL @ "the whole thing." The carpet part is awesome. I try to use that to talk John into doing Soarin'. It's about the same idea, right? Those champagne corks make me jump and close my eyes! :rotfl:

Sorry I've been gone for so long...I haven't been keeping up on the Dis very well lately! :guilty: Anyway, just getting caught up from the beginning of the MNSSHP. I'll comment as I go...

The boys were adorable! Love the costumes!

Nice pic with the Seven Dwarves. Sorry you had to wait so long. We had the opposite...short wait and only 5 3/4 dwarves visible in the pic! :rotfl:

So sweet that Andrew proposed to Alice! Your boys really get great character interactions! So cool that Mickey was a pirate too!

I bet those fireworks are amazing. Guess we'll have to see them someday! I love seeing all the special Halloween decorations at the party. Really makes me want to go to a MNSSHP!

I love how obsessed you were with Buzz at the time. That's exactly what we were doing on our trips too!

Very cool to see the pics from around ASMu. On our very brief stay there last August, we had intended to wander around and see the place, but it was raining during that time, so we never saw much (just our building-Calyspo-and the main one, which it was right next to).

The next trip...

Very cute naptime on the Peoplemover pic! Love it!

I totally agree that Pizza Planet should have an alien claw machine. It would also be nice if, when you win an alien, the alien spoke and said something about being chosen. I would love that! (We searched for a machine like this there too, but, as you know, no dice!)

You've mentioned how hard it will be when your passes expire...just wait! We now get regular notices that Disney misses us! :sad1: We miss you too, Mickey, we miss you too!

We've never actually watched the Dream Along with Mickey show OR eaten at CHH! Oh no, we'll surely have to go back to WDW sometime to do those! ;)

Sweet that the boys got free ice cream!

Looking forward to more! I miss Disney...

I'm so excited to go to DL sometime (hopefully within the next year). We LOVE all the history of Disney and are excited to see the original park. No, we've never been before. Actually, this past WDW trip was only our second trip to any Disney park....I just got really interested prior to our first trip (read: obsessed) and read the DIS "cover to cover." So now I just think I'm a veteran cause I know tons even if I haven't experienced everything first hand.

Wait John won't ride Soarin???? How has that happened? Andrew (my DH) loves it and he canNOT do the motion sickness rides at all. He's never had any issues with it. Why won't John ride?

Sooo many comments.. haha... Glad you're back! That Buzz obsession is partially your fault, ya know.

I can imagine. After how crazy crowded MK was during our honeymoon, we weren't in a hurry at all to go back. Disney emailed me sooo many "come back!" letters and pin codes. (They eventually got us!) I can only imagine what waits after this change! :eek

He won't! I keep trying to talk him into it, but he's really worried he'll end up getting sick. I shared this with him earlier today and got "okay. okay." but I'm not sure what that meant.

He's almost tried it, but changed his mind. I may force it next time. I kinda forced another ride recently and he DID get sick though. Not sure how much he'll trust me for a while.. haha.. The last time I tried it was with Dinosaur in 2005. :rolleyes1 Yeah, that one didn't go over well, but I swear I didn't know then! :rotfl:

Haha!! I don't think Andrew will ever trust me about a ride again either after the RnRC fiasco. Thankfully, he had ridden Soarin before that.
I hope John goes on it next time! He's missing out! Make sure to put it in your TR when you finally get him on it!

All caught up! Somehow, your TR got dropped from my bookmarks and I kept thinking that I hadn't read any of yours in awhile and all of a sudden realized the link was missing. :sad2:

MNSSHP looks like so much fun! I can't wait until we go. I'm a little worried about how to fit in the fireworks and the parade. I've heard so many people say Hallowishes is the best and I've never seen it. But I've also never see the parade, and I've really got to see that Headless Horseman. Maybe if we trick or treat first and I set the boys up with a big bag of candy during the parade?

I love Blake's Nemo hat, too. He seems to do a good job of keeping it on. :goodvibes

A Green Alien claw machine in Pizza Planet is a great idea. I'd stick one Buzz Lightyear in it and charge an exorbitant fee to play.

I bet it's fun to race with the ferryboat and the Monorail. We'll try that someday when the boys are older. :thumbsup2

I'll update when it happens! I just asked again and he said he would. He claims he would've last time if I hadn't tricked him. :rotfl: We probably won't be back to Epcot until Pixar Weekend now, but it will happen!

Cookies seem to be life savers on your last visit, so candy seems like a great idea! If you don't mind two super hyper little men anyways. ;) The headless horseman was nifty. Wish I'd gotten to see it this visit. :sad1: Next time!

Blake only looks like he kept the hat on. ;) Most of the time it was stuck on my bag. He'd go back and forth about it, but I loved when he did want to play with it.

I bet they'd love racing as they get older. What little boy wouldn't, right? Since we always drive, it really makes the "goodbye MK" journey to the TTC a little less of a battle, too. :)

Pixar Weekend?? What is that? And why haven't I heard anything about it?? That sounds fun! Gonna go do some DIS searching/googling!!

Pixar Weekend is the event I just found out about that has now completely messed up all my May Disney plans! ;) I'm sure you've read about it by now. It looks like fun! I can't wait to see the Up house and meet some of these characters. The boys are thrilled!

November 18th, 2010 * Thursday

In November of 2009, we completely skipped Disney. In part because we were busy, but when is anyone really too for busy for WDW? I could’ve worked it in somehow. It was more due to the fact that it marked the one year anniversary of losing my mother and I didn’t take it well. In November of 2010, we were still busy, but this time I was better. We made plans well in advance that this painful anniversary would be spent AT Disney this time.

The morning routine was the same. I didn’t even think about it much until we neared Tampa. A plane flew over. That’s all it took.

All of a sudden, my mind was back on the flight home after being in Ohio. I was alone with the boys and Blake cried the entire time, no matter what I did to sooth him. With so many days spent being held by the strangers of my family in that hospital, I knew he was just over it all. He wanted to go home and was surely feeling my stress, too. I felt terrible trying to keep us together, preparing for all the glares from other passengers when we got to TIA.

As everyone stood up from their seats, I was met with the opposite. Several offered help, one even carrying my bag and chatting with two year old Andrew. He told her. I’ll never forget it, I’ve never shared it, and I still can’t even type those words. I hadn’t even realized he understood what was going on while we were there. I could barely handle it and looked around. There wasn’t one angry face staring back. People really do amaze me sometimes. Imagine flying from Pittsburgh to Tampa with a screaming five month old. Maybe we are basically good and understanding at the core. I’d completely break down once I saw my husband again.

“Who is this?” John asked, bringing my thoughts back to the car. I hadn’t even noticed the boys had fallen asleep, but looked at the driver beside us to see who he was talking about.

“Who is who?”

“The radio-”

“Oh, it’s The Eagles,” I interrupted. “Take it to Limit” was playing. I like old stuff. ;)

“Not the station, the song.”

Okay, so I usually listen to the Eagle (107.3!), but it was still the Eagles. We started to playfully argue back and forth over this. John didn’t believe me. It was fun and I was okay again. In case you wonder, it really is the Eagles, too. :)

Today was the Eagle-Eagles Disney day and that’s how I really remember it. Starting this update was rough. I wasn’t sure how to go about it, but I felt like I couldn’t leave it out. It was the reason behind the visit. I won’t go over what happened again. It was tough enough in the last TR, but it was difficult. I’d turn away from every person who told me time heals back then. The idea of time being enough to pull you through my lethal dose of PPD & losing her was ridiculous to me. I’m still not certain I’ll ever be “over” this, especially how it happened, but I think they’re right. It just comes down to what you do with that time, right? :)

Parking the car, I debated over the tram for a moment, but we chose to walk. John doesn’t like folding up the stroller for those, so it’s easier this way. As it had just arrived, we had a good feeling that we’d beat it anyway.

“Two minute walk!” the CM standing nearby called to us. Andrew waved and we were off.

We beat the tram. ;)

CIMG2919.jpg

Andrew wanted to check out Mickey’s shop before anything. He was set on getting me “the perfect gift” until I reminded him that we weren’t Christmas shopping just yet. One of our plans was to browse stockings again, but we weren’t ready to commit to anything. It was still November and Christmas fun wasn’t supposed to start just now.

CIMG2920.jpg

CIMG2921.jpg

Done browsing, I grabbed Andrew’s hand and declared it morning race time. This was unusual. We don’t usually race at this time of day, but it was on all the same. We were off!

As it often happens, the monorail stopped near the bus stops. I didn’t think this one all the way through. On the ride, I’d been watching out the window and saw the ferry moving across. I knew John must’ve made it on that one. He’d been running down with Blake. It was going to be close!

Eventually, we’d resume our forward motion. (I have no idea why, but that line makes me laugh..) Andrew was glued to the window. Who would win?? We did our best to quickly walk through the crowd to bag check. I could see a huge crowd of people headed from the area by the ferry. This didn’t mean anything. It could’ve been a bus, right?

At the bottom of the ramp, we ran right into them! Closest race we had ever had! We all went through bag check together. I still say Andrew and I are undefeated. They didn’t actually beat us, right?

With all of our focus on race time, I’d nearly missed it. Just as expected, Mickey declared Christmas on the MK!

CIMG2926.jpg

CIMG2928.jpg

Can’t decide if he was thrilled about Christmas or the near win?

We’d miss actual park opening and the welcome show, so into the park we went!

CIMG2929.jpg

CIMG2931.jpg

CIMG2933.jpg

CIMG2936.jpg

CIMG2937.jpg

Our journey took us into Tomorrowland with one goal for our first ride!

CIMG2944.jpg

Along the way, Blake was allowed to be a walking boy. There really weren’t many people around and he’d made a request. Could he possibly be forty inches ‘ready?

CIMG2946.jpg

Even on the tips of his toes, he just didn’t measure up. Poor little guy. We had been checking his height at the time, but it wasn’t for the big kid rides just yet.. ;)

On to Buzz!! We walked over to the five minute wait and John said some awful words..

“You won’t hit more than 400.”

Noooo!! I was jinxed. I knew it walking in. He had it in my mind and this ride was pointless. Sure enough, I didn’t make it very far.

CIMG2947.jpg

CIMG2949.jpg

^Andrew paying attention and not laughing at me this time!

We all exited and moved on to Fantasyland. It was nearing 9:30 and someone special is out then! Andrew had a request to visit his girl and our timing was perfect.

CIMG2952.jpg

...next post...

Despite how empty the pic is, we weren’t the first in line when we finally made it over. Our wait was short with everyone ahead choosing a quick pic and signature before running away.

CIMG2954.jpg

Someone’s excited.. Over the White Rabbit!

CIMG2958.jpg

CIMG2960.jpg

Andrew ran to her! (As I’m sure you could tell.) He was so thrilled to see her again! John and I quickly noticed that this was the same “friend” from the halloween party. Would she remember him? Neither of us was sure, but she claimed to. When they started talking about the wedding, we were certain. I’m guessing Alice doesn’t get proposed to that much. ;)

CIMG2964.jpg

CIMG2966.jpg

They began with guests again. Of course the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter. Perhaps Buzz should still be there? Andrew did seem to be a fan since he was wearing that shirt. Haha.. Then Andrew brought up the cake..

“But what kind of cake?” Alice asked.

“Who doesn’t enjoy ice cream cake?” was Andrew’s reply.

“Of course! Everyone loves ice cream cake! But what color?”

Andrew paused and said he loved blueberry so it would be blue. Alice was thrilled with this one. Her dress is blue afterall! They were so cute to watch. (And I got some video! I need to dig it out to upload. ;) ) When they began talking about the when question again, a date was finally chosen.

“In thirteen days.” Andrew declared. It was official.

Alice loved this, but acted silly and made thirteen days seem like a terribly long wait. She giggled and called to the CM with them.

“Did you know I get to married him in thirteen days??”

Craziness, huh? During it all, the White Rabbit was entertaining Blakers. Blake smooched his nose and they cuddled. It was adorable watching them together, too!

CIMG2968.jpg

CIMG2968.jpg

With the date set, we had to move on for this day. For all those that call me a character hog, they talked for four minutes. I don’t think that was too terrible. ;)

CIMG2978.jpg

Can't forget the secret!!

Coming soon! I dunno.. I didn't look ahead. It'll be a surprise for all of us. :thumbsup2

I just put the same pic of Blake and the White Rabbit twice in a row. Oops.. I'll fix it tomorrow. ;)

What a great update! I was nervous for you during your race...glad to hear that you are still technically undefeated!!!

I think it is wonderful that you chose a fun day for the anniversary of losing your mother...I lost my mom as well, in 2008, and I'd like to think that is what they would want us to do, right!?!?

Once again, an amazing character interaction with Alice! And four minutes is nothing...especially to plan a wedding!!

Oh and, a personal update...we are getting Annual Passes next year! We are coming down in January so my dad and I can run the half marathon, and then July for our honeymoon (a little nervous about crowds then, but it is the only safe time to schedule it for my job!!), so it makes sense financially! Of course, those are probably the only two times we will use them, but I'm still excited to be able to say I have an AP to Disney World!!

YES!!!! there's a video!!! Oh DO upload it!! :cool1::cheer2::woohoo:

Ok I might have gone a little overboard with the smilies!

You almost had me in tears talking about your plane ride with the boys! I'm so glad that people were kind to you and helped instead of being angry.

K so I really like the Christmas decorations at MK but I wish they didn't hang things across the street. It blocks the view of the castle and most of my pics from Jan have those stupid garlands in front of the castle. I don't LIKE it! Everything else is pretty though :)

Great updates! I feel bad for the Buzz obsession I contributed to! Oh, well, sounds like Andrew and Blake had a great time with Alice and the White Rabbit. So, they must be married now, right? It's been over 13 days... :rotfl:

I'm glad you were able to take a sad date and make some happy memories.

We've been close before, but this race was wild!

Awesome on the APs!! :yay::yay::yay: If you're going twice, of course it makes sense! I've tried using the financial side to argue another set for us lately. If we're doing a week for their birthdays in 2012, and AP can't be that much more! Okay, about five hundred bucks. But look at all you'd get! :lmao: I should go into sales.. Or maybe not. It hasn't changed the plans. Have bunches and tons of fun!

I am soooo with you on the Main Street decorations! I was complaining about it as I uploaded them. It ruins the castle view and they really just look kinda silly. Ick!

I already forgot about that video.. oops! I'll get back to it later!

I love the Buzz obsession! I'm glad you posted all the cheats. It's made it so much more fun!

Thirteen days must be a long time afterall. :rotfl: No wedding yet. The engagement is pretty much off now, but you'll see how that goes later on. Andy-Roo is growing up. :sad1:

Before leaving, Alice asked Andrew if he was going to ride her tea cups. I’m sure you may have noticed we don’t do that one all that much, but now we couldn’t do anything else! Andrew pointed the way and soon everyone (minus John:laughing:) was waiting for a spin.

CIMG2980.jpg

CIMG2981.jpg

The boys ran around to find the perfect cup and climbed in. I tried to get a picture of the two of them, but something seemed to be have Andy-Roo a little distracted.

CIMG2984.jpg

Blake stole his attention for a moment by offering a cup of tea!

CIMG2986.jpg

It didn’t last very long. Andrew couldn’t take his eyes off of Alice.

CIMG2987.jpg

Blake tried a couple times more to get brother to share some tea. Big brother was getting pretty annoyed, so I had to end it. Blake gave me his grumpy look, lowering his eyebrows and looking up. I hope he never realizes how cute that truly is. Then the lightbulb moment hit him!

CIMG2988.jpg

“I will drink ALL the tea all by myself!”

When we began to move, Andrew stopped watching Alice. He begged and begged for me to spin as fast as I could, but my tummy isn’t up for that first thing either. We had a nice little ride and joined John back at the stroller.

Next up was Winnie the Pooh, of course. We spotted bits of the new set up that we hadn’t seen before!

CIMG2993.jpg

CIMG2995.jpg

CIMG2996.jpg

Blake LOVES the Pooh-Coo clock in Pooh’s stories.

Unfortunately, most of it was still blocked off that day. Even worse, they opened it all the very next day!! We were only one day off on this. A reason for a repeat day, right?

CIMG2997.jpg

As we made our way into the line, I spotted something that made my heart sink. Pooh’s Thotful Shop was gone! In it’s place was the exact same store, of course, but under a different name. Thankfully, I think the sign really is much cuter now, so I didn’t mourn the old one very long.

CIMG2999.jpg

Blake especially loved all the little rocks along the path. Great two year old size sitting spots!

CIMG3002.jpg

CIMG3006.jpg

pretty light

CIMG3007.jpg

^ Know what that’s for? We do now, but not knowing will start to drive Andrew nuts in the coming visits.

CIMG3014.jpg

Four for a four year old!

The ride was fun. They must speed it up as the day goes on. Maybe it’s just in my head, but I really think you get a better experience early in the day here. A CM once told me it's always the same, but I don't buy it. This ride was a little bumpy at the end when we got stopped to wait. We love Tigger’s announcements about the riding being paused.

CIMG3018.jpg

CIMG3020.jpg

Of course, we couldn’t make it away from the ride without stopping to cuddle every Eeyore toy Blake spotted!

CIMG3022.jpg

On to Snow White!

CIMG3028.jpg

Andrew and I were ready to go, but somebody was distracted by a Disney's newest attraction... Puddles!

....more soon....

It's funny how fast the Magic Kingdom switches from Halloween to Christmas. I guess if you stretch both holidays out for a couple months then it makes sense. :rotfl:

Love the Alice interaction again. I bet Alice did remember Andrew. She looked like she did in the pictures. It's nice that the White Rabbit spent time with Blake during it all. I was really hoping Alice was going to go and ride the teacups with the boys. That would have been cool.
