What some people fail to understand is the character meets truly are magical real life experiences for the kiddo's and that's what Disney is all about! I too would have loved to be in line watching I would have been cracking up! :lmao:

I love reading about the Halloween party! It looks like so much fun. Was there a long line to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter? I don't think the dwarfs would be worth the wait for us. Sounds like some fun stuff with Alice. I can see how the people in behind you would be annoyed, but it really is awfully cute.

Were the boys hot in their costumes at all? I've been thinking about what my boys should wear and I had thought they would be most comfortable in costumes made of shorts and t-shirts. Is it cooler in October than I thought?

The line for these two wasn't bad at all. I don't think there was more than eight or ten in the line total, with about 3 or 4 ahead of us when we joined. Most people were skipping by to go into the treat party instead.

They were fine in the costumes! It was still really warm, but I don't think most costumes are bad. These two were really light and the boys had shorts on under them. I wouldn't do a full body suit or anything.

What a cute story!!! I'd like to think that if I had been in the line I would have been thoroughly entertained, not annoyed at all!

Me too! It was so much fun!

That picture is great! I love how Andrew is looking adoringly at Alice!

Isn't that sweet? Neither of them would look my way for that one, but I love it!

Exactly! I love the sweet things the characters do with kids. So many rush up for a pic and run away that it balances out anyway, IMO. I'm sure they were all rushing around to squeeze everything in that night, so I won't judge 'em. :goodvibes I do hope he skipped the Seven Dwarfs line if this had him crazy though!

Oooooh, I hope I hope I hope I get an invite to this wedding!!!

I'll let them know you wanna come! I hope I get one! The guest list was pretty crazy. I only remember the White Rabbit and Buzz Lightyear. :rotfl:

Done trick-or-treating in Tomorrowland, we moved across the park to Adventureland. Andrew and Blake were hoping to meet Captain Hook, but it wasn’t meant to be. Hook didn’t have a line set up and was just a wandering character at the time, according to the CMs beside POTC. We did manage to spot him, but he was leaving already. They weren’t worried, but I was a little sad about missing out on this picture. In the moment, we made plans to bring their costumes along on another visit to to see Peter Pan, but never thought about it again once we were home.

The boys were eager to check out some of their goodies, so we took a short break and they each had a candy. This night would be full of candy! I promise they don’t eat like this at home. ;)

CIMG1842.jpg

After the snack, it was time to collect more treats, of course! We walked through the trail around Splash Mountain after skipping one that didn’t allow strollers inside.

CIMG1845.jpg

It was kinda creepy walking through there. At the end, a CM was directing guests to another stop, but no one was interested. Andrew had to know what everyone was missing and found out they were giving out raisins! I think we were the only people in that group to go over and get some. He loves them!

CIMG1846.jpg

my pics are terrible, I know.. I didn’t even stop walking to take it. ;) Love that little guy though. He had me crying during the movie.

Since it was nearing fireworks time, we needed to get back in front of the castle. But first..

CIMG1847.jpg

Funnel cake yumminess! I just couldn’t resist getting one. It was perfect this time, too. Notice that I paused to take a picture before leaving Sleepy Hollow!

We found a spot on the sidewalk near Casey’s to wait for HalloWishes! John and I split the funnel cake while the boys played around. We all loved watching the changing lights. Main Street looked awesome!

CIMG1861.jpg

Blake had to have some candy corn! This is my family’s number one Halloween treat!

CIMG1879.jpg

Then it was time! The lights went out and HalloWishes began! Of all the fireworks shows we’ve seen, this is my most favorite! For what it’s worth, we’ve only actually seen this one, Wishes, Holiday Wishes, the Summer Nightastic Fireworks and IllumiNations if that counts. Out of those, I love HalloWishes best anyway! (Andrew picks "Regular old Wishes" for his favorite.. haha!) I was so excited to be seeing this again. I love the music!

** I will be trying to talk John into going to MK for the 4th of July this year! Cross your fingers!! **

CIMG1890.jpg

CIMG1896.jpg

CIMG1897.jpg

It was such a great show!

Fireworks mission accomplished, it was time to join the mob to move out of the area next. The second “Boo to You” parade was less than an hour away and I was all for waiting around here to watch. My family couldn’t have cared less about seeing it.

“We saw it last year!”

The boys just wanted to trick-or-treat and dance. Too bad. As you can see, we didn’t do some of the bigger special party events this time around. They didn’t care about the parade or the villains show. Cruella was amazing to watch in that show the year before. I was kinda bummed, but the boys were in charge! They did promise to let me see the show if we make there this year though.

CIMG1923.jpg

CIMG1924.jpg

We followed the madness and hit treat stops on the way back to Toontown. While I couldn’t get anyone to agree to seeing the parade, the boys were thrilled about pictures with Mickey in his costume. Yay!

CIMG18151.jpg

CIMG1928.jpg

I had no clue what costumes they’d be wearing when we made it there, of course, so I didn’t bother giving the boys any hints. We’d get what we got, right?

CIMG1930.jpg

CIMG1931.jpg

CIMG1933.jpg

When we made it to Mickey, he was wearing the perfect costume for the boys!

CIMG1938.jpg

CIMG1939.jpg

Blake was fine hanging out with Minnie for the rest of the night. She kept pretending that his feather tickled her nose. It was so cute!

CIMG1940.jpg

CIMG1949.jpg

a kiss goodbye!

Just in case you didn’t know which way to go..

CIMG1951.jpg

Because Hook and Peter Pan didn’t!

CIMG1953.jpg

As we walked back into the street in Toontown, we were spotted! Alice must’ve been leaving her Meet & Greet for a break because she was headed in our direction. As soon as she saw us, she came running over with her arms wide to Andrew! She was so sweet! She stuck around for a few minutes to make sure Andy-Roo hadn’t proposed to any princesses and was having a fun time at the party. They talked about all the candy and fireworks before she had to run. She was now late for tea, of course! She was so adorable. Best Alice we’ve ever met!

....I'll probably finish this day tonight....

Your pictures of HalloWishes were really nice!

So sweet Alice spotted Andrew and took the time to talk to him!

Enjoying your report...keep it coming!! :yay:

Thanks! For as bad as all my pics were that night, I thought some of the fireworks pictures were great! :rotfl:

This particular friend of Alice is awesome with him. We love her!

More coming up!!

I just wanted to say Hi and tell you that I love your TR. Your last one was great too. Your boys are soooo cute!! Blake is adorable. I love seeing WDW through all your wonderful photos.

Jodi

We walked over to her treat trail, skipping the Mad Hatter this time. Since the crowd had died down back here, Blake got down out of the stroller and walked like a big kid. He loved going up for treats alone!

Andrew wanted a picture with all the fun Alice in Wonderland stuff while loading up on more candy!

CIMG1955.jpg

We’re painting the roses red!

CIMG1956.jpg

CIMG1957.jpg

CIMG1958.jpg

They were filling the bags up at this point.

CIMG1959.jpg

I think I missed him the last time around.

CIMG1960.jpg

More hopscotch! The stickers were different this time anyway.

Since we were in the area, it was measuring time!

CIMG1963.jpg

Not quite, Andy-Roo! He still hasn’t made it, but sure has grown a lot since then. Think he’ll make it by his birthday?

CIMG1964.jpg

Maybe they won’t notice if I wear my hat?

John ran off with Blake for a change so Andrew and I headed to one of his favorite things about MK! Club 626! He begs to dance here whenever we pass it!

CIMG1966.jpg

CIMG1967.jpg

bluurrrrr.. But he’s dancing with Stitch!

CIMG1973.jpg

I didn’t dance, but did have fun people watching while Andrew did. Comparing costumes again, I decided the most overdone Disney costume idea of the night was... Tink! There were sooo many girls and women dressed as Tink!

CIMG1975.jpg

Blake joined brother in some dancing for a bit, but we realized the little guy was starting to get sleepy. He jumped back in the stroller and we decided it was about the end of our party. Leaving now didn’t work out as planned though. When does it? Buzz was walk on! I couldn’t pass that one up and Blake jumped to life to go, too!

CIMG1978.jpg

CIMG1979.jpg

I didn’t catch what John and Blake did, but I think I did well! It was still walk on when we were done.

“Wanna go again??”

I’m pretty sure my family thought I was nuts, but they love me. We all jumped in line again!

CIMG1982.jpg

Yuck. Not as good this time.

CIMG1987.jpg

Blake was my buddy this time. He just cuddled most of the ride.

CIMG1993.jpg

Zurg pic!

Outside, I couldn’t resist. There still wasn’t a line..

“Mommmmmmy..”

John and Blake waited this one out while Andrew chose to humor me, “only one more time!”

CIMG1997.jpg

CIMG1998.jpg

He tried for a couple minutes but then stopped playing and just pointed where I should aim!

CIMG2000.jpg

So Buzz turns me into a child. I’m allowed that now and then, I think. ;)

John had noticed a treat stop we missed before and pointed us in that direction.

CIMG2004.jpg

That was really it for us! We moved back towards Main Street to go..

CIMG2009.jpg

CIMG2020.jpg

CIMG2022.jpg

The boys caught sight of that ghost and insisted we stop to watch for a bit. It was flying up and down the street.

CIMG2028.jpg

Near the front, ALL of the Pooh characters were out in their costumes! Unfortunately, they would only be out for a short bit longer. I forget how many minutes it was, but there was a decent line. The CM said anyone could join it, but couldn’t be sure everyone would get to see them. We decided to head out since Blake was tired. Waiting in that line was crazy if you might be standing here for nothing.

CIMG2029.jpg

Spooooky..

CIMG2030.jpg

CIMG2031.jpg

The monorail won the battle this night. Blake had really hit his limit and was asleep in the stroller before we made it there. He never got fussy or upset though. We’ve been pretty lucky with that. He’ll just relax and sleep in the stroller when he’s ready for a break. Andrew was not like that at all!

CIMG2034.jpg

He looks like he’s falling out of the stroller, but he’s just leaning on the side of his seat. ;)

We managed to keep Blake asleep until we made it back to the room. Andrew was still running on sugar and showed no signs of settling anytime soon. We decided to check out how they did on candy!

CIMG2038.jpg

Insane, right? I let them pick out some, but most of that was fed to the people my husband works with. They were pretty happy for a couple months!

CIMG2046.jpg

Andrew would eventually crash and we all settled in to sleep. Well, most of us did. ASMu was not my friend that night. Maybe a ghost followed us from MK, but we never did make it to the Haunted Mansion.. Either way, all night long I listened to what sounded like someone tap dancing on the ceiling! I usually bring excedrin pm along with me to help me stay asleep, but forgot it this time. Aside from that, the building was so loud! I’ve read nice reviews of this place, but we must’ve been in the wrong building. I was going crazy!

So that was our MNSSHP 2010 experience. We all had such a great time, but we didn’t really do much, huh? That seems to be the theme of this Disney year. The boys are in charge much of the time and we accomplish what we accomplish! It’s been so much fun!

Coming soon!! Day 12.5?

I just wanted to say Hi and tell you that I love your TR. Your last one was great too. Your boys are soooo cute!! Blake is adorable. I love seeing WDW through all your wonderful photos.

Jodi

Hi Jodi! So glad you're enjoying & thanks! It's been fun to write!

Sounds like a fun party! Sometimes the best Disney days are when you do "nothing". Just being there is the best part anyway!!

I can completely understand how you feel about riding Buzz over and over...its exactly how I feel about Tower of Terror!! That's how we ended up riding 12 times on our last trip! I make Ben keep going back through until he refuses!!! Oh and Expedition Everest too! Buzz doesn't do it for me, but that may just be because I'm horrible at it!!!!! :rolleyes1

Your report of MNSSHP has me SUPER excited for our first party this year!!!! We debated going last year, but ended up debating too long and never made it there! I think Olivia will love it! I'm excited to see the parade and fireworks since everyone raves about both. Love all you pics, and the boys were SO cute! Can't wait to read more!!

Doing nothing seems to suit us. :rotfl: When I look over the days I post about, all I can think is that we're wasting our year! Really, we're having a lot of fun. It just doesn't seem like we do much. :)

Buzz was an obsession! I managed to max it out once without even trying. Now that I know the cheats, I can't get there! I would've gone around a few dozen more times if Andrew was into it!

You're still nuts when it comes to ToT! How bad is Everest?? I think that one is 44 inches, right? Andrew was just over 43.5 when he got his school physical a couple weeks ago. He's growing toooo fast. I'm wondering if we may just make it to those rides before the year is up. :scared1:  :scared1:

Thank for commenting.. Now I'll remember to catch up on your TR tonight. ;)

How exciting!! Costumes ideas yet?? Little girls get soo many options and she's such a cutie. That will be so fun! Those fireworks really are the best! I wish my guys had been up for the parade. It's not looking good for us and MNSSHP this year so I hope you do a TR about it. I think the Disney blues will have me crazy by October! I'll live through your adventures instead. :)

I seriously think that your boys could score higher on Buzz than me! I don't know why but I just can't seem to get it to work right!!!! Pathetic, I know...

I LOVE Everest! The part where it goes backwards can seem kind of intenese, I think if I was on it with a little kid I would maybe put my arm across them to make sure they didn't whip around to much...but I love it!!! It sounds like Andrew will have you on there before you know it!!

Sometimes I completely forget to upload any of John’s pictures when I do an update. Most of the time, I even forget to take the pics off of his camera until we have two or three Disney days behind us! He just doesn’t take many pics. Keeping track of more than one camera is a headache anyway. It's even worse now that Andrew has his own camera! (His pics didn't start until after Christmas. ;) )

I decided to go back and see what John had taken this night, just in case it was worth sharing. This was especially ridiculous though. Here are his pics..

There you have it. This is all I have from his camera that night! :lmao: Hope you enjoyed ‘em anyway!

The backwards idea scares me. Thanks for the tip. Andrew is so tiny, and I'm so.. Well, not. ;) That makes me a little nervous. I think just not knowing what to expect bugs me. I'll check out youtube. That ride is sooo high, too! He's thrilled, of course. My son is nuts.

So why 12.5? Because this day doesn’t count. ;)

A short night of sleep behind us, Mickey called to let us know it was time to hit the road! John needed to get back home to go into work. Luckily, he didn’t have to be there early, so we had a bit of time to play with.

I brought along some delicious smelling Publix pumpkin muffins for breakfast that turned out to be less than yummy. John and I suffered through, but the boys weren’t going for it. We packed up the room and planned to head over to the food court to grab them something else.

We did take our time and had some fun exploring the resort on our journey! This update will be mostly pictures.

CIMG2052.jpg

CIMG2054.jpg

The boys really loved the theme of Rock Inn, where we were staying. It was pretty cute.

CIMG2063.jpg

Blaker “balance walking”

CIMG2064.jpg

CIMG2069.jpg

The best part of this area for Blake and Andrew was the music! It was quiet enough that you could really hear it playing. Before, we hadn’t noticed it to much as we walked around. They had to take a time out to dance!

CIMG2070.jpg

CIMG2073.jpg

CIMG2075.jpg

CIMG2078.jpg

As we made it out of this area of buildings, Blake started insisting he’d just seen a “giant man” and we had to run! It took a few questions before we understood what exactly this giant man was.

“He has really big boots!”

CIMG2082.jpg

See him?

He refused to believe they were just the boots, with no giant man in them. We had to get a closer look.

CIMG2087.jpg

Yep, just the boots! We still couldn’t convince him. That giant man must’ve just taken them off for a little bit. Silly baby.

This part of the resort was nifty. It seemed like a great little place for a picnic. Andrew thought so and ran to a table for a pretend breakfast.

CIMG2089.jpg

CIMG2100.jpg

What is it with kids and fences? Whenever he spots one, he has to climb it!

CIMG2101.jpg

rock hunting..

CIMG2104.jpg

“I’m really strong!”

CIMG2106.jpg

Saying goodbye to the giant man, we moved on. Something even more dangerous was soon found! The boys spotted a pool and took off. They both knew we weren’t swimming, but couldn’t resist. John and I ran after them!

CIMG2113.jpg

They were a little faster than we were!

CIMG2115.jpg

CIMG2116.jpg

Blake has recently decided that Ariel and Flounder are two of his new “favorite friends” and was thrilled to see this pic when I uploaded it!

Moving on!

CIMG2127.jpg

CIMG2154.jpg

Yay! We finally found where we needed to go! We detoured a bit, but our room really seemed ridiculously far from the main hall!

CIMG2160.jpg

Too cute!

CIMG2162.jpg

Andrew making sure we knew what we were doing. He loves maps.

CIMG2165.jpg

penny stop!

....pic limit! next post....

Finally time for food!
CIMG2167.jpg

CIMG2168.jpg

I have no clue what they ate anymore, but I do remember a CM stopping at our table to give the boys Mickey stickers! We paused in the store for a bit after to browse around. I found the cutest Mickey antenna topper ever but didn’t buy it. He had a Mighty Mouse/Superman look to him, with a cape! I just knew someone would steal this one and John agreed. We passed it up. I’d regret this choice for weeks after. He was so cute!

With the boys fed, it was time for us to say goodbye to ASMu. We began the long journey across the resort to our car..

CIMG2175.jpg

CIMG2186.jpg

The boys loved the color on this!

CIMG2195.jpg

Andrew said he wanted to stay in this building next time. He said they were the jungle buildings.

CIMG2202.jpg

CIMG2211.jpg

Blake was glued to me and being crazy! He loved the freedom from the stroller!

CIMG2219.jpg

more dancing/flying

CIMG2225.jpg

The End!

ASMu was cute. The room was clean and this place seemed to have the best towel animals of all the resorts we've done so far. (FWIW, our list is ASMu, ASMo, Pop, CSR, & CBR right now.) However, none of us really liked the theme enough to want to stay here again. :goodvibes

Up Next!! The IASW refurb is complete! Perfect reason for a Disney Day, right? :thumbsup2

First of all, I love your husband's pictures! When I saw that post it made me laugh out loud because that is just like Ben...until I got him a video camera....then he drove me crazy and wouldn't put the darn thing down! If he forgot to take video of something he would walk back and start over so he could record it. :confused3

I loved the tour of ASMusic! I relived our December trip while looking at your pictures! We stayed right by the "giant man" and boy was it a FAR walk to to main building! I think that we will be putting out the extra cash to stay in preferred rooms after that experience!! Overall we agree with your family though...we enjoyed it, but not enough to stay again. Maybe in the future when we have a family, but not any time soon! If we do a value next time, its back to Pop for us! However, I've been feeling the urge to upgrade to atleast a moderate next time...maybe a deluxe for a few nights if its our honeymoon!
