God what is with you people lately? You seriously need to stop these threads turning into bash fests or fights. Its getting ridiculous!

I'm an American. I know why the americans went to war. I know why your country followed suit. I remember the day that we declared war. I remember why. Yeah, cancer research is good, but thousands of americans DIED on AMERICAN soil, and thats why WE went to war.

I fully support my troops. I see why we're in Afghanistan. We'll be there until at least 2011.
Canadian troops aren't in Iraq, I believe Jean Chertien (or could have been Paul Martin at the time) decided that they wouldn't be going into Iraq all those years ago.

I wasn't treating him like he was stupid. I was telling him that his argument needed support and evidence.
And yeah I am in my 20s and I am studying history in order to share the correct history of the entire world with other people. One of the main responsibilities of historians is to share their research with the public....thats what I am doing.

Well obviously. I agreed with you until you made this statement. Obviously history can never be exactly replicated. Just like your favorite moment can't be exactly replicated. Something was the way it was and it can't ever, no matter how hard you try, be able to be replicated. I think you're just trying to "show your knowledge" a little too much with this statement. You don't need a book to figure out that it can't be exactly replicated.

Some people like to know where information comes from and so I was providing them with that information. You would be surprised at how many people think that history repeating itself means exact replication.

Well then we've got some dumb people. Which doesn't suprise me. But still. Calm down. We're not as "Academically trained in history" as you are, but we're also not in college. I've found your last two posts to be quite snotty, but the earlier posts in this thread I completely agreed with. Maybe you should just drop this thread. Some 'kid' got into a debate that they didn't know how to back. They tried to stop it... lets leave it at that.
