That last few days I've been doing more wedding planning than normal. And today I realized that as much as I love the fall my colors just aren't going to work for a fall wedding, so I thinking we may change the date to March 2013. The thought of this makes me want to cry because it is sooooo much closer the November 2013. I'm so sick of waiting to get married and am really getting antsy to start everything with Disney.

The other issue is my college program. I would be trying to plan this wedding while on my program, and would only have about 7 months time that wouldnt conflict with my program (assuming I don't extend or get on full time at the end of my program).

AHHHH what do I do?!?!?!?!

I sent you a facebook message to try to help! :)

Okay, where did you buy the Beauty and the Beast sheets? I think I need a set!

I LOVE the Bridesmaid dresses you're looking at gorgeous! I wouldn't worry about it matching the Flowergirl. That's cute, IMO. Your little Flowergirl outfit is ADORABLE!!

Honestly, November weather is so hit or miss that it could be cold or it could be warm! If you love those dresses, I'd go for it.

I'd probably move your date if it's possible. Why not? I work two jobs, go to school full time, have a life, and STILL plan a wedding! If I can do it, you can too!!

I know it's a long time to wait, but the season really doesn't have to sway your choice of wedding colors. I'm a November 2013, and I'm using a coral pink.

What you could do is make a timeline/calendar for both choices. You can plan your free time and budget based on both to see which one would work better.

I would also check with the people you really want there (i.e. the people you can't see yourself getting married without) like parents, grandparents, siblings, and bridal party members to see if one or the other would work for them.

We originally changed our date from January 2013 because my uncle and my grandparents wouldn't make it.

I think what the previous poster mentioned in terms of the date is a really good idea. If you try to plan out what else you'll be doing at the time and how that works for other people that you want to be there, you might get a better sense of which time of year would work better for you. I totally understand about not wanting to wait that long either! I just wouldn't change the date just because of the colors ;) But if there's other reasons to do so, such as your personal schedule, then definitely look into it more!

Just so you know, Booking Policies changed. 2013 brides can't book untill 2012 [a year out].

Whaaaa I didn't know that!!! Booo... I thought they could "pencil you in" at 16 months... Oh well.. Guess I'll have to wait a few more months. Not big.

The newest version of Carry's book is from August 2, and it still has 16 months as a "pencil in" time. I was under the impression this was remaining, but there was no possibility of starting any actual planning before 12 months. I think in the past, some brides had gotten in sooner with certain sites.

I know Carry said there would be a new update to the book soon, so she must be busy gathering the new information and making it comprehensible. ;)

You can still call Disney and try to "pencil in." I would. :goodvibes

Just called Disney and got penciled in for March 3, 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it's nothing official, but I am so ridiculously excited!!!!! Now I just have to tell my Gram that we have officially moved the date...

:yay: :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: W00t! W00t! :cheer2: :cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

Good to know you can still pencil at 16 months. :goodvibes

I'm glad you were able to move it closer. Ours ended up farther out (we went from Jan 2013 to Nov 2012 to Nov 2013 in about four days).

Congrats on being penciled in!! March definitely sounds closer so that's really exciting!

Now I'm frustrated! Maybe we can be penciled in but not book?

Ughh well now I'm gonna be calling in December!

There were a handful of places that could book at 16 months (i.e. ADH, Ariel's, in the parks), but they've done away with that. You can still pencil at 16 months and book at 12 months for anything, just the way most everything else already was. The wording of it is a bit wonky, and I think that's where the confusion came from.

It took me an hour to sift through all of my PassPorter's updates to find that.

So excited that DFTW called! Good thing you picked up-- I never do  It's awesome everything is available right now! Woohoo!

I think it's really sweet you're going to help your girls pay for their dresses! They'll look absolutely beautiful and I'm sure they'll appreciate the help!

Can't wait to see what you find on your shoe quest!

I've been following your updates on facebook, but I decided to post on your planning journal.
That's so exciting that you got your date penciled in and that they called you already. I think it's great that you guys moved the date forward. I know it'll be a little hectic planning everything with the CP and almost 7 months less, but I have confidence that you guys will pull it all off. Besides, the sooner the better. It's so hard waiting, because wedding plans take up your entire life the closer you get to your date.

I think you made a wise decision by choosing to cut the carriage and help pay for the bridesmaids dresses. While the carriage would be beautiful and fit perfectly into that fairy-tale theme, your bridesmaids will be seen throughout the whole ceremony and reception. Plus, they are going to be in dozens of your wedding photos. You want to be able to look at them and know that they are in what you wanted, not what you had to settle on.
I only say that because I had a somewhat similar experience. Some people wanted my maid of honor in a kind of subtle, traditional shoes, but I was adament and made her wear these cute sparkly pumps. They might have been out of place in an official ceremony, but we had so much fun walking around and posing in them. And, looking back, I am really happy that she was in something I wanted her to be in.
Long story short, if you want your bridesmaids to wear something, think about how much you want it. Think about how you'd feel if you were looking at the pictures afterwards and if you'd see them in anything else, would you go, "They look great, but I just wish I could've had them in my first choice." If so, then the carriage was a good sacrifice.

Okay, I'm done babbling, sorry for the ridiculously long post. :confused3

I THINK.... that you are the one who posted the kiwi and pink dresses. I found an alternative that's similar [not sure how much they are....]

I give you.....
A dress :)

I'm sorry to hear that your mom is being difficult! I think you're being resonable and it sounds like you need to have a sit down with your mom about this.

Is there any way you two can foot the bill yourselves? It's awesome having help but it can suck when your donor constantly wants their way.

It's good that your DFi is going to be able to make a little side money for the wedding budget-- hopefully this will give you some leverage!

Keep us updated!
