I followed you over from the 2013 Weddings thread, and I am so glad I did. Your proposal story made me tear up. I have three close ladies who all have DFs deployed right now--even one of the girls is--I think they are the bravest people I've ever met. I admire them and people like Tim who give so much for this country.

I am so excited that you can have a real DFTW. And, we will be planning on the same timeline. I can't wait to read more and follow along with you.

You are in a tough situation. My sister just went through the same exact thing. Her now husband has just been deployed to Afghanistan. They went ahead and got married before he left. I think I would do the same, but I'm so impatient

Ooohhh I like the last one the best--- but they are all lovely. You can't go wrong with Maggie.

And, honestly, I think I would get married in Spring 2012 before he left... BUT my DF and I have been together since 2005, so I think if I had to wait until 2014 to get married I would shoot myself in the foot! But, you have to do whatever is right for you.

I love the Skye dress the best (although they are all beautiful!).

If it were me, I would get married sooner rather than later. I am kind of impatient and I don't know if I would be able to wait that long! But I agree with what has already been said...you need to do what is right for you both.

All three dresses are very pretty, but I would side with Ambrosia. It just seems softer, and it has more detailing.

I'm joining in! My DH is military also- he's navy, and we also got engaged at Disney! We did not do a Disney wedding, but that has always been a big regret of mine, maybe someday we'll do a vow renewal!

Anyway, I just wanted to chime in that I'd get married before he left. I'm sure you realize by now that being a gf is like being a second class citizen in the military. I would want full access to the wives group and all the official information that is given only to family members. I know its hard to spend time apart (DH and I spent pretty much the first two years of our marriage apart) but I think it was easier being officially married than just being a fiancee.

And your dress is absolutely perfect for you. I love it when people post pictures of all the dresses they try on, and I scroll through them, thinking they are all pretty, but when I get to one and you can just tell that it's absolutely amazing and perfect for them - and this dress definitely screams that with you!
