Delayed TCD flight

As we all know Travel City Direct read this forum.
Why cant someone from travel city come on here and put their side of the story. after all this is really giving them bad press. I know they probably can't answer individual complaints, but surely they can come on here and at least say something. The complaints i have read about TCD over the years on this forum have been about flight delays,accomodation, the state of the planes etc.

Travel City Direct are now the biggest Uk Florida company, its about time all that money to make them that big, which has come from us the customers was put to good use to deal with all these problems.

There's also the "pecking order" part of the equation to look at. If Virgin or BA etc have a delay they are higher up the airline evolutionary tree, so therefore are first in line to the next available slot. TCD etc are at the bottom, so a "short" delay to one of their aircraft can mean a long wait until the next available slot. If TCD etc were to pay more for the "rent" (for want of a better word) their delays would not be as long, however, that would mean their prices going up. So at the end of the day, lengthy delays can be their fault, but also the punter's fault for wanting a cheap flight.

It was nothing to do with cheap flight - I am primary teacher, so no flight is cheap - I can't disappear from school for 10 days when I feel like it as the children can, but hey ho that's another story. Cheap flight or not, people should be treated with respect. Once again the treatment, not the delay, was my original gripe.

With the greatest respect I think that being delayed by one or two days has nothing to do with pecking order, I would imagine that somewhere one of their planes has gone 'tech' and this then has a knock on effect with other flights. It would seem strange to me that TCD or any company would watch other planes take off for one or two days whilst their own are sat on the runway waiting for a slot, for some reason it doesn't make sense.

Looks like their flights today are on time, a Manchester TCD flight is due to arrive in Sanford in half an hour and is listed as being on time according to the Sanford website.

Saying that, the Cardiff flight has a 3hr delay!

I have to say I am getting very worried about travelling with them now!

We are flying with Thomas Cook and I know that they had a major delay a few weeks ago the flight was due to go out on the friday but it looked as though it was at least a 24 hours delay.

Looks like their flights today are on time, a Manchester TCD flight is due to arrive in Sanford in half an hour and is listed as being on time according to the Sanford website.

One of those flights is yesterdays flight a day late.

With greatest respect, if you read my post again, you will see that I mentioned that pecking order is just another part of the equation. Add this to all the other things that can, and do, go wrong, means that carriers like TCD tend to have longer delays than other carriers.

Unfortunately, it does make sense that if you are down in the pecking order, you will have to watch other aircraft take off while you are waiting for a slot to become available.

Hello Stitch's Greatest Fan

We are flying with Delta who we have flown with before and had nothing but good service; its a connecting flight but that never bothers us.

You echo our thoughts re Travel City Direct - you can always tell how good a company is when they are put to the test and something goes wrong - well TCD really showed how good they were! Previously to the nightmare journey we had flown every year for 7 years with TCD but their handling (non-handling to be precise) was unforgivable. Our holidays are too important to risk another flight with TCD; yes they are cheap but not worth the worry.
