I'm on the July 25th European sailing that has the option to delay the final payment until 30 days out but today I got the DCL notice that my final payment is due on March 27th (original date). Does anyone know if I have to call DCL to delay payment? We're still on the fence about canceling entirely and at the very least I'm waiting until 30 days out before sending then a huge chunk of money (2 rooms).

My understanding is that for the Magic’s July 25 departure, you have the option to cancel with 100% FCC credit any time up to the day before the cruise. The 30 day PIF extension for the Magic was only for cruises from August 5-30.

There are 3 July European cruises which initially received a PIF extension. From the DCL website (I believe it was posted 3/14/2020):
Alternatively, Guests currently booked on our July 13, July 18 and July 25, 2020 European sailings may delay their final payment to 30 days prior to their sailing.

There was a more recent extension for August cruises, posted 3/19/2020 on the DCL Blog but oddly not yet updated on the main DCL website:
Disney Magic: Sailing embarking on August 5 – sailings embarking on August 30

OP - I don't know for sure, but based on the reports about land vacations is that the reminders are automatic but can be ignored; WDW isn't canceling until the extended PIF dates. Unfortunately, you may need to contact DCL to confirm - you might try email?

Enjoy your cruise!

I would keep checking the website ay some point there should be an update. I’m in the same boat with an August cruise.

We are also on the July 25th European sailing. We were emailed the offer from Disney to either have the option to cancel (for Disney credit) up until 1 day prior to the cruise OR move our PIF date to 1 month prior to the cruise. I called our TA and requested the 30 day option. She processed this and we received emails with our updated contracts and the new PIF date reflected.

I wonder if you have to “formally” request your selected option from your TA or Disney?

Personally - we went back and forth on which to chose. In the end, I am hedging that by mid-June we will have a better idea of the COVID situation and Disney’s Europe plans. I really don’t want to lose my deposit (we had ABD and the cruise for 4) but that’s preferable to paying the entire amount and then having Disney credit for down the road ... we have two kids graduating this year (college and high school). By next summer they will be scattered and another cruise won’t be an option for us.

Of course - who knows what will happen. Never ever would I have imagined the current environment we are all adapting to. Stay safe and healthy —

Thank you for the update, I was wondering if I had to official request the 30 day out option but dreaded calling Disney. Looks like I have to call. I did email Disney like the Moderator suggested so we shall see. Completely agree with not wanting to lose the ABD for 2 rooms (6 people) but kicking a large cruise credit down the road doesn't work for us either.

I have not received any email about this> I am on the 8/5 Northern Europe. I dont see it on the DCL page either. Others on the same cruise?
