Our Disney reservation doesn’t start until 6/19 but we decided to take the late Southwest flight that arrives at 11 pm 6/18. Plan on spending the night at the Hyatt in the airport. This was much cheaper than flying in the Saturday morning. If we have our Magic Express tags on our luggage, can we just wait until the morning of 6/19 to hop on? Or are they strict about needing to use Magic Express the day you actually arrive? If I understand correct since Covid you need to collect your bags your self now instead of Disney handling. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks
 
I don't think I got any tags when I went in Dec. They may of stopped sending them out since they are not collecting luggage.
 
There are no luggage tags right now since, as you stated, they are not handling luggage right now. You would have to pick up your bags after your flight and take them to the Hyatt with you. When you book ME give them flight info for the morning you want to use it. They won't know (or care) that you actually arrived the day before.
 
I've flown in and stayed at the Hyatt many times. Just give ME some flight information for the morning (around whatever time you want to get up and get moving.) When you land, grab your luggage and head to the Hyatt. Grab dinner in the airport or Hyatt restaurant and relax. I love to pick up something and sit on my "balcony" at the Hyatt and people watch in the airport. Get some rest, get up in the morning, repack, and head down to Magical Express on level 1. It's wonderful!
 

As a resort guest, you are entitled to a trip to/from MCO and your resort anytime between your checkin and checkout days, inclusive.

You do not need to give DME false flight info for the day you want to use DME. Just call them at 866 599-0951 and tell them what you want to do. It's not a problem at all. Calling DME directly does not have the hold times that calling Disney does. There is generally no hold time at all.

It can also be easier dealing with them directly as some CM's have told people they can't do it the way the OP wants. Calling DME directly makes it so much easier as they know the ins and outs.
