Delaware members

Last 2 times I flew SW since it was only $560rt for 4 of us, but with the prices having doubled we will be back to driving next trip.

Most of the time we drive, this helps so we can take all the things we like and can not take on a plane( crock pot & maybe a blender).

:goodvibesWe have been members since 1997 - best purchase we made. Live in Middletown but grew up in Bridgeville. Just returned from "going home" in July. This stay was in a 2 bedroom at Old Key West on the 3rd floor. As I get older the steps get longer..

I'm lucky that my kids (in their 20s) still love Disney. My daughter and son-in-law are going down for F & W in October and staying in their favorite vacation club - Animal Kingdom.

We were able to tour Bay Towers and considered purchasing some points there but haven't decided. We loved the view and being able to walk to the Kingdom.

It is great to see there are more DVC members in Delaware.

When my children were younger (and Autotrain was cheaper) we always used the Autotrain. Since I was a teacher (retired after 35 years) our vacations were limited to summer and holidays. In the summer we would often stay for 2 or 3 weeks (points go a long way in a studio) and taking the Autotrain allowed us to pile in food, pool toys, and all kinds of useless stuff.:rotfl::rotfl:

Now my children are in their mid/late twenties and they would rather fly and be in FL instead of using up 2 days each way on the train. I still the love the train ride and the sleeper car and the ability to pack the "car". We have driven a few times but it seems to take us more than 18 plus hours...and we have run into very heavy traffic each time.

If you have any questions about the Autotrain, just let me know.

We drove in '97 and '03, flew in '05, '07, and '08, and drove last year and this. Dh and I have flown twice for Food & Wine. I wish we could fly all the time but tickets x 5 is just too much money.

We drove straight through this last trip. Going down on Saturday 8/7 was a little hairy as we had to detour through the Richmond area due to an accident on the very south end of the Richmond bypass. That added on some time. We left home later than planned (4:30am) and arrived at our first night DTD hotel at 9:30pm (some traffic backup on I-4 past downtown).

Going home last Friday we left WDW property at 10:30am and got home at 2:15am. We managed to miss all traffic, thankfully.

Next year we'll be driving as we'll be staying offsite in a gigantic rental with family. We'll add on a few days at DVC at the end :)
