Definitive 'To do' list for Orlando 2017

So I'm looking to book Orlando for the latter half of 2017 [October time] and am looking to start planning early.

I'm beginning to put together a comprehensive to do list, from window shopping deals, booking itself, then getting ready for the holiday and planning the itinerary and everything that goes with the trip.

If anybody has such a list I would massively appreciate sharing it in here so I can see things I may have overlooked and can add to things 'to do'...

Advanced passenger information for the airline
Tell your credit card company that the card will be used in the USA
If staying onsite - online checkin, choose magic band, do room request (doesn't guarantee chosen room however)
Book seats on the plane when they become available

As I learned today check your house insurance for included worldwide travel insurance before buying coverage you already have!!
