Deeds & 2005 points

Hi all,

We bought 180 points at SSR in April with this Aug as start of use year - few questions:
1, anyone confirm how long it takes for your deeds to come back
2, we are looking to go approx Sep 2005 - when should we try and book - from Oct 2004 right being 11 month window?
3, do I need to bank my 1/8/2004 - 31/7/2005 points before Oct when i book or should I do before?
4, when do points for 2005 come out?

Congratulations and WELCOME HOME!!!

Well I am a real DVC novice but think I can help with at least one of your questions.

1.We bought SSR at the end of March and got a letter at the end of May saying our deed was recorded on May 25th and that approx 90 days later we would get the documents (so approx end of August). I would guess yours would be a little bit after mine if you bought in April?
2. Yes I would definitely book at the 11 month window so you know you are getting what you want at your home resort. You could book another resort at 7 months.


I think I may know the answers to the other questions but don't want to give you the wrong info so if you don't mind I will wait till an expert comes along!!!

Welcome home..!!
We too bought points in April and our guide told us it would be mid July before we heard anymore.
If you you know your travel dates already then yes you should book at the 11 month window which is 11 months from the day you the checkout, although you can ring daily to reserve your accomodation to make sure you get it if you want but this is usually only necessary if you are booking a peak time ( xmas) or a Grand Villa type property.
You can bank all this years points any time between 1st August and 31st January 2005 but you may want to do this when you make your reservation and tell Member Services you intend to use the banked points for that booking.
You will get a new allocation of points every year on 1st August.

We purchased SSR last August, with December use period. We received our deeds about 2 weeks ago, but thats because the resort has only just opened I think.

Or its taking its time because it is very popular, I was reading elsewhere that SSR is selling so fast its been the best ever for them.

Hi Paul,
We love adding on a trip to Vero it's a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of Orlando. We usually stay in an Ocean view Inn room which is similar in size etc to a studio. It only takes about 2 hours to get there from Orlando and it's a straight forward drive. There's some nice restaurants at the resort and also in the surrounding area too.

Thanks to all who responded.
Got my deeds letter last week and viewed our deed on the Orange county website - letter says paper work in about 90 days.
Will probably go for SSR last 2 weeks of next August - guess I should book before booking flights etc - any ideas on the best places , websites to get flights from and how soon should I look to book them bearing in mind it will be in the Uk school holidays (at least for next 8 years or so till young ones older and left)

Hi Paul,

For flights I would try www.expedia.co.uk or www.airline-network.co.uk or www.opodo.co.uk

Personally I would get the flights before the accommodation but that's just me. I always think if I can get the flights I can always find somewhere to stay (within reason, obviously) whereas if I haven't booked the flights I may not be able to get to my booked accomodation .

You should be able to book both 11 months prior though. We are going next August (last 2 weeks) and will definitely be at Saratoga for at least a week. Might see you there?
