We passed ROFR, and after this happened, our Family Living Trust got established. We were supposed to get our closing documents in the next day or so. I reached out to the title company, who indicated that we could file an amendment to have the deed name the Trust as the grantee instead of DW and me as individuals.

But... if we do this, how does Disney know to recognize me and DW as "members"?

They use the listed trustees I believe.

Thanks crvetter.

As an aside, looking through the forums a bit more, someone mentioned that you could not title the deed in a Trust's name with the initial purchase--you had to deed it later. Any truth to that? Doesn't seem to make sense to me. Either it should be allowed or it should not. Don't see why it would not be permitted at one time and then okay later. :confused3

I actually don't know if that is the case or not. I would suspect that you could title it with the initial purchase and see no reason why you couldn't, perhaps others would be better to answer that question.

I suspect the issue on initial purchase occurs when you are financing rather than paying cash.

We are administrators of our Revocable Living Trust. The trusts are in our names, we are the administrators of the trust. We have blue cards in our names.

No, it's not correct. I have bought several direct and resale contracts -- all were titled to a trust on day #1.

I had all my contracts switched to a revocable trust a couple years ago. As to how I dealt with Disney on the issue, it was simple. informed it of the revocable trust and that the members should be recognized the same as before. No problem.

What is the easiest way to switch all contracts over to a trust? Is LT Transfers a good option?
