Please tell me if these statements are correct:

ALL OKW 2 bedrooms, dedicated or lock offs, have 2 beds in the second bedroom.
ALL VWL dedicated 2 bedrooms have 2 beds in the second bedroom.
SOME BCV dedicated 2 bedrooms have 2 beds in the second bedroom.
ALL BWV 2 bedrooms are lock offs and thus none have 2 beds in the second bedroom.

Another question:
What about SSR? How are their dedicated 2 bedrooms set up?

Thank you.
Bobbi

Bobbi...I think the answers are definitely yes to your statement about OKW, BWV and VWL.

I only know about BCV what I read on these boards, and I believe that statement is correct as well.

I think SSR is set up the same as VWL, with all dedicated 2BR's having two full beds. But that's just what I recall from talking to the sales rep there, and I could be wrong. After the BCV situation, I can't imagine Disney repeating that scenario of not having 2 beds in dedicated second bedrooms.

I think that's right, Granny. They saw the error of their ways after making some of the dedicateds at BCV the same configuration as the lock-offs.

Thank you. There is concern about small children wandering/falling into the guts of the sofa bed as they sleep. I know that we have a dedicated 2 bedroom this time, so we're safe there. I've ordered bedrails for the 2 Q's . I'm hoping at some point it will be OK for the kiddies to be on a sofa bed, that's why we bought at BWV to take advantage of the Standard view. However, I we'll be OK if we sometimes can stay at OKW or SSR, their point structure is close (SSR) or even better(OKW) than BWV standard.

Now, if there's anyone still "out there" have you been successful getting a dedicated 2 bedroom at 7 months out at OKW (not as important) or SSR.

Thank you.
Bobbi

All dedicated 2 bedrooms at SSR have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom.

25 of the dedicated 2 bedrooms at BCV have 2 queen beds.

What time period are asking about?

We have always gotten summer 2 bedrooms at any DVC location at 7 months for a 2 bedroom dedicated, including BCV and with the 2 beds.

We were in a studio on the second floor at OKW and it had a King and a lockoff door. That would indicate to me that there may be a 2br lockoff with 2 kings.

It was an error, but not in the way you think. They intended for all 2 BR dedicated to have 2 queen beds and even advertised it that way. But there was a foul up along the way in the design and construction. They went back and converted the rooms they could and changed the pull out from a full size to a queen size for the rest so that it would be "2 queen beds" in the second BR to make the sales info technically correct. Pretty shady in my book but I guess that's all they could do rather than tear it down and start over.

That's interesting! Did it have a sofa, if not a sofa bed?

I'm guessing that we are most interested in booking a 2 bedroom for this family in the summer months. First we're going to see how this year goes, and if fine, hopefully we can make it a tradition, every year or every other year. Do offspring really want to vacation every year with their "old folks?"

really - I have never seem a king in any studio at OKW - only the two queens.

you sure you weren't in a 1-bedroom?

you will love OKW - it my home resort and my favorite - very lay back and relaxed. the much bigger villa will appeal to most families.

completely depends upon the kids - with us - I would go to WDW but not to Hawaii (okay I was crazy - but the idea of long hours on a plane and this was in the 70's was not my idea of fun). besides it would take my entire vacation - WDW only took a week - not the entire 2 weeks.

so far my niece and nephew love to go with their parents to WDW. my brother is on a budget so I pay for the rooms and tickets - and still they can't make it every year. these kids got spoiled when they were younger, my brother was better off and Disney provided the tickets until 1999 - so since then they have only gone 3 times. this last time my nephew says he enjoys WDW more than US/IOA - which was the main theme park he liked.

so you just can't tell. Boy teens don't seem to appreciate WDW as much as the girls. but then the boys can surprise you....

so plan for the entire family. WDW has so many things to do besides the parks - maybe this trip you can start to do other things.... :artist: :moped: :beach: :boat: :sail: :bored:

Spiceycat, I appreciate what you are saying, but we're at the "very early in life" time. These DGC are 1,2,and 3 years old. It's their DMom and DDad who are really needing to get away, I think!! When the oldest was 1, they did come to Cape May for about 5 days, but apart from that, I think they children have slept at their own home each night.

I'm pretty sure I've said it before but DDiL said that "It's going to be so much fun that we'll WANT to go every year, or it's going to be so bad that we'll put it out of our minds and next year we'll think, "Why don't we try to take the kids on a vacation :rotfl: "

You are right about male offspring. We all THINK DS (29 the day before we leave) is coming. I've given him until July 4th to tell me for sure. However, he has seemed to indicate to others that he's coming (I truly hope so, he's a wonderful help with the children, they adore him!). We could use the help!

Bobbi :)

well the trip I was talking about WDW back in the70's was with grandmother. She paid for everything - we got to stay at the Polyn for week every summer - what not to love....

and you know how much better a 2-bedroom is over a hotel room....

as long as you are paying - I think they will continue to come with you.

Bobbi, the pull out sofas at SSR and OKW are the new kind that don't have "guts to get hung up in". It's a solid foam mattress with no springs etc.

As to the king bed in a studio at OKW. I've NEVER seen that, and I suspect it was a 1 bedroom with a lock off door to the real studio/second bedroom.

I got the reply on my blackberry on the way to the office and thought "When I get to work I'm going to pull up the pictures I took and prove you wrong."

As it turns out the pictures proved me wrong! It had two beds. I apologize for the confusion.

The trip was last October and we rode out Hurricane Wilma in the Studio Sunday night and most of Monday and then had Bell Services move us to a one bedroom Monday afternoon. You would think after 18 hours in that room I would remember. I have a great memory, it's just short.

Spiceycat, now I understand, and we are the grandparents, not paying for it all, but we are blessed to have others, like my DSis to chip in. We're actually flying to Boston to be on the plane to MCO to help out during the trip. Delta/Song has NOT made it easy for us, our flights have been tweeked at least 5 times and each time we lose the seat assignments that has us all in 1 long row across!

It really is the vacations we took as a family when I was growing up and later with our extended families and our DS's that bring the most smiles to our faces, and we hope to continue that tradition.

LOL, thanks for coming back and clearing up the mystery! Yep, you would think you would have remembered two beds, but then you probably used it like a sofa!

Thank you - for a while there I though something is strange - I have been going to OKW since 93 staying mostly in studios making 3 trips (lots of time more) and generally staying at OKW.....

maybe the hurricane made you mix up your rooms....

Cptnjack, are you sure you went back to the same room every night? LOL (teasing of course). :p

Indeed. My 3 year old (2.5yo) had eye surgery on both eyes (went perfect) the week after so we took him there on his first trip. I remember it like it was yesterday and I don't remember much about yesterday...

I think I had tuna...

LOL! I hope your DS is all healed now. That was quite a surgery!!!
