DD and I have a dedicated 2 bedroom at OKW this January. If it was a lock-off, I know it would have 2 bathrooms... does the dedicated 2 bedroom also have 2 bathrooms? What is the lay out?

TIA :thanks:

All two bedroom villas will have at least two bathrooms. Kidani Village and BLT will have an additional bathroom off the living room.

Yes, there is the master bath and a bath in the studio/second bedroom side.

At OKW both dedicated and lock-off units have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. The main differences are:
  • No balcony for the second bedroom of a dedicated, small balcony for lock-off studio
  • no kitchenette in dedicated, but more closet space than lock-off
  • no exterior entry to the second bedroom

The layout is exactly the same as a lock-off. The only differences are those that Chuck S mentioned.

Did anyone mention the OKW villas are HUGE ? :cool1:

I often read where people suggest to request a dedicated. We're traveling with 4 young adults (early 20's). I'm wondering if we might want to request a lock-off?

Or just take what we can get?

It's a trade-off. With a lock-off you get the 2nd entrance and the kitchenette which might be nice. With a dedicated, you instead get more closet space.

Yes, and that extra closet in the 2nd bedroom of a dedicated OKW unit is HUGE! It's a triangular walk in closet, and even works well as a private bedroom for an infant in a pac N play.

Thanks for all your repsonses! :thumbsup2

This will be our first stay at OKW and we are really looking forward to all the extra space... I'm sure most folks would think we were crazy for getting a 2 bedroom when it is just DD (22) and myself  but honestly we have a much nicer vacation when we each have our own space, including bathroom ;)

When we go away together, I tell people we will either bond or kill each other... and there have been a few times I wasn't sure which was going to happen! :rotfl:

Dedicated or not doesn't matter when traveling with older kids.

I think people worry when putting young children in the second bedroom that they might open the other door or any door for that matter.

I can see where that could be as much a concern for a teenager, also... maybe even more, depending on the teen! :scared1:

One thing about OKW that hasn't been mentioned, yet. There was a design change during construction. Bldgs 30 and higher have two entrances to the master bath, one through the master bedroom, the other through the laundry room. Which gives more privacy to the people in the master bedroom, especially if someone is on the fold out in the living room.

Bldgs 29 and lower have only one entrance to the master bath, THROUGH the master bedroom.
