Decrease of number in party

I'm planning an early breakfast at CP during my trip but am unsure on the number attending. We are trying to coordinate with friends that may be in the park the same day as us but their plans aren't set in stone yet. We could be as few as 3 and as many as 8. I wanted to go ahead and try reserving something since we are past our 180 days and I don't want to risk not being able to book. I guess my question is if I book for 8 and find out that our friends can't join us will my party of 3 still be able to be seated? I'm not sure what to do!

I would make the reservation for 8, because it is better and easier to go from 8 to 3, then the other way around.

Hopefully your friends will decide soon, and that way maybe someone else can be lucky and get those seats if your friends decide not to go.

we've done this before. make the adr for eight. then if you do find out they aren't joining you, you can call and modify your reservation. or you can just tell the hostess at the podium when you check in. have a great time!

It will be far easier to subtract five people than it would be to add them later on.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I went ahead and made the adr. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to change it later
