Decrease in Reservation Availabiity?

To preface - I haven't made any additional reservations for my July trip (beyond the ones I made back in March when we cancelled our May trip). However, I'm wondering if anyone is starting to see if its harder to get reservations (in general - not just the standard hard to gets) since its likely restaurants will be at 50% capacity at opening, etc.?

I noticed tonight that The Boathouse, which usually has lots of availability on Open Table, has virtually nothing available in July. Even WBG has limited availability. But on MDE BoG, Cali Grill, really all the ones people chase after, have lots of availability.

They may be reducing available tables to 50% for a few months.

We had to change our resort when we re-booked for Sept. due to no availability so the answer would be yes in our case.

We just did our ADRs for our October trip and didn't notice and difference.
Its anyones guess when the 50% and 75% start and end, so our October trip could be after the 75% ends.

We rescheduled from May 9th to September 4th. Reservations that were SO easy to get for our May trip are next to impossible for September. Well after our 180 day I was moving reservations around and didn’t have trouble. Now it’s a race even using the reservation finder. I’m instantly logged in and it’s already gone.

We finally have almost all of the important ones, but since we upgraded to the Plus plan I jumped in yesterday and this morning to fill in all the gaps I was leaving open to grab something easy on the fly and give us some flexibility. After they announced the 50%/75% capacity for FL yesterday, not knowing where they’d be come trip time, I wanted to make sure we have something booked just in case so I don’t risk rating credits because there aren’t any restaurants.

I can see and understand the 50 and 75% thing but it does make me glad that we are not going until June 2021. I normally get the deluxe plan and I would hate to potentially waste credits.

I’m scheduled for June 1-6 and I did a little back up dining plans this week because I have two character buffets scheduled, and if we get to go at all, I don’t really expect those to be open. I actually saw lots of availability that week. But then again, the back up ADRs weren’t for hard to get restaurants or I’d have made them the first time around.

After you posted this, the governor decided on 25% capacity indoors. No limits on capacity outdoors as long as table are 6 feet apart.

On the contrary, I've found reservations to be much easier than usual to get for late July. That includes reservations I made today. I have booked hard-to-get places like Ohana, Sci Fi, Beaches & Cream, Be Our Guest lunch, etc.

Fall is going to be harder to book because a lot of people rescheduled their cancelled spring trips for fall (plus, fall tends to be crowded & hard to book ADRs for in general). So availability for fall should be more limited, but it's not due to capacity restrictions at this time. If it were, July would be limited, too, and right now, late July is wide open. It's the easiest time I've ever had booking ADRs out of almost 10 trips in the past 10 years.

No issues for November (except something weird is going on for dinner time in MK in 11/7 - my guess is probably closing for an event). We had a lot of hard to get reservations (12 ADRs in total for 7 days), and were able to get everything. This was at 6am, though - as is typical, by 6:45 looks like a lot had been snapped up.

Makes sense since there will only be 50% availability... Gonna make things very hard

I noticed weird times all over the place. Like on 11/3 the latest time on the drop down menu at skipper canteen is 5pm. The next day at HS the last eat choice for Brown Derby is 6pm.....??? Any idea why? It’s past MNSSHP time and too early for Christmas Parties.

It's a problem for all of November. The entire month currently has no park hours posted, no HEA/Fantasmic/RoL (no dining/dessert packages available), and no park dining availability after 6pm for MK, AK, and HS. Epcot has limited dining availability after 6pm, but not for most restaurants. It could be that they just haven't gotten around to figuring out the schedule, or it could be that they're planning to have reduced park hours for the rest of the year and November's the first month that we're seeing it reflected in the schedule.

Something is def up with them not having any dining available for nov and the calendar has no hours yet.... but, I also think that after the park gets open in the first phase and they give us an idea of when the phases are gonna happen, that people make then make a solid decision On what they are doing and I think that there will be some dining availability show up. I read where some people have made plans for every month, not knowing when Disney will open, so those people have reservations in June, July, august, sept and oct, so I think when a lot of the people with multiple ressies get a game plan, things will come available! I’m November so I’m still waiting for the hours to come out and fixing to make ADRs as much as I can anyway, but at least I’ll have a starting point!!

I made some for July and had plenty availability except for Ohana and Sci Fi. I expected that. I can even get CRT. Maybe people are cancelling, not sure.

Definitely hard to tell if the summer availability is reduced demand, or if Disney just hasn't made capacity cuts in its reservation system yet. I really hope it is the former because they are going to have major problems if they start cancelling or changing times on people's ADRs to comply with table distancing requirements after letting reservations go on for so long, especially after they encouraged people to book this summer with free dining--given the value of free dining inherently requires that guests can keep their dining ADRs. I know they don't have an opening date yet, and maybe they haven't bothered limited ADR availability because they don't think they'll be open in July, but if there is any chance of a July opening they need to start reducing ADRs in the system now.
