When do all the resort decorations for Christmas go up, the trees and the gingerbread house at Grand Floridian, we will be there the week of Thanksgiving and were hoping to see them. :)

Thanks so much, I cannot wait to see it decorated for christmas, we can never go in December- DH works for UPS and they frown on it. LOL

We just went this past Thanksgiving Week and it seemed that all of the decorations were up at the resorts and the parks for the most part. We took time a few evenings to resort hop. The only thing they didn't have was MVMCP that week. We loved the Osborne Lights and CP. We had a great week!

They started decorating the week before Thanksgiving last year .... GF & WL decorations were up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving week ... BWI,YC,BC were up by Thursday of the week before Thanksgiving. CR was almost done on that Thursday as well.

The decorations start as soon as the halloween decorations come down.

Everything is definately completed the Saturday after T-giving when I arrive, and guaranteed completed, with the exception of the MK tree that does not go up until after the parade taping the first week in Dec.

Decorations normally go up overnight and there is no set schedule. Like any other business, it is based on staff availability and weather, if outdoors.

Thanks all- we should be able to see lots of it decorated then. We are coming to the parks Sat- Wed before Thanksgiving, then heading for the 4 day Disney cruise til Sunday, then back to the MK that night(Sunday) for MVMCP. We have never been except in the summer and early fall, have been for MNSSHP- and it was awesome. Can't wait!!

Years ago nothing went up until the day after Thanksgiving. In fact we were at the WL for Thanksgiving and there were no decorations at all. When we woke up the day after the giant tree was up and the lobby was totally decorated overnight!

These days the decoration are up much earliier. You will be fine. Enjoy your vacation.

I remember as a kid, the Christmas decorations didn't go up till december 1st! I remember leaving the parks on November 31st and there were no decorations, and returning the next morning, and the entire place was decorated! It was magical! I have no idea how they did it!

I'm pretty sure that the OP meant that UPS frowns upon people taking their vacations around Christmas time. I'm guessing it's due to the fact that it's prime package delivery time.
