What is everyone planning for the rooms this Halloween?

This is our first "holiday" that we won't be at home and I want it to be extra magical for the kiddos! :)

We're going to MNSSHP the 30th, but aren't planning to leave the hotel on Halloween too much.

I'd like to decorate our window(s) and room a bit for them - any ideas?

We're also going to MNSSHP on the 30th.

I'm bringing all kinds of stuff to decorate our room. As we're staying at one of the villas, I'm bringing magnets for the fridge, napkins and hand towels, window and door clings, and some garland. My DH thinks I've just gone over the edge :rotfl2:, but hey, I'll be on vacation, so why not have fun!

We were on the Disney Cruise over Halloween in 2003, and decorated our door there too. Just have fun with it!

We are bringing a table skirt, spider webbing, various hanging paper decorations and jack-o-lantern orange balloons. Mrs. Ambassador never goes anywhere without her cauldron. Halloween is a favorite holiday for our Little Delegation.

Just back Monday and I found the cutest Mickey Halloween decorations! I bought 3 packs of Halloween garland, Black with orange MICKEY SHAPED PUMPKINS. Only $5! Also, I searched everywhere but I found my MICKEY SHAPED PUMPKIN LIGHTS at Epcot in the America area. Just thought you all would like to know! :wave2:

We also will be @ MNSSHP 10/30
We will be staying @ SOG so I'm not sure if it's allowed.
I will have a door sign.
Not Halloween.
Mickey saluting the flag.

So you got the Halloween garland at Disney as well? Can you tell me where?
We will be there 10/28-11/4 and would like to buy there if reasonable rather than pack in our luggage.

Thanks!!

Thanks!!! What a fabulous idea - I wonder if I could get DH to take the kids down for a craft time or something and totally deck out the room as a surprise.

We actually get down there on the 29th, so we have a couple days to pick things up ahead of time, I think - I'll be looking for goodies, for sure!

I've used window clings - easy to pack, cheap, festive. Our last trip was December, and I brought 3 Disney catalog covers and hung them in the window - again easy to pakc, cheap (free!), and festively cute. My kids enjoyed it!

Enjoy!

We are usually away every Halloween at our interval ownership week at South Seas Resort in Captiva, Florida. We decorate the windows, the outside door and usually attach something to the outside balcony ceiling fan. All the kids in our building (usually are pre school kids) love to look and talk to the decorations ! It is fun for us to plan our decorations each year---too bad this is the second year we won't be able to visit due to hurricane damage--so we are planing for next year !!!!!!!!!

:hourglass counting down the days.......We are getting there the 26th and leaving the 1st. I was there last year and saw all of the decorations in the windows...I thought it was so cute. So this year I am following suit. I went to the dollar store and got some window clings, spider webbing and extra spiders. Some purple twinkle lights and a flickering pumpkin candle. I also found a pumpkin cardboard cutout with stramers hanging from the bottom of it. All of this packs really easy and doesn't take up much room. If I do not want to come back home with it, it didn't cost me but $3.00 for all of it. I saw some really elaborate windows while I was there last year.....and they were really neat to look at.....but, you have to concider....how much time are you going to be in your room, and is it worth the money and packing space. You can also buy some halloween coloring books or go to Disney.com to get some printables that the kids can color and then cut out and tape to the door or windows. :earseek:

They had the garland at quite a few locations. The ones I remember are World of Disney in DTD, Emporium in MK, The store in MGM on the right as you enter the park - not Sid Cahuengas (or whatever) the larger store that runs basically the length of the street. Check your resort gift shop too. I think they had it at ASMu in the gift shop. The last couple of days we were there (14th & 15th) I noticed everyone was selling their Stitch Halloween decorations for half price - if you're a Stitch fan.
