Decorating your resort room?

Just got a call from my MIL. She found the mickey/ minnie lighted suction cup light thing at Walgreens! She picked it up and we will get it from her when we visit her before the trip. Now, I wonder what to do about the rest of the window?????

I've got to take a trip to Walgreens... and Dollar Tree and Big Lots....Family Dollar...:santa::rotfl::santa:

Wonder if there is a Walgreen's in Bangor, Maine? We have to go there the day before we fly because our flight's so early, so maybe I can pick up some goodies there???

If anyone is looking for Disney window clings...Dollar Tree had a ton of different designs...Cars, Pooh, Mickey, Princess, and Tinkerbell.

I hit the Disney jackpot at Dollar Tree this evening! They had holiday window clings of Winnie the Pooh and friends, Mickey Mouse and Friends, and Disney Princesses. They also had small whiteboards of Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell, and Princesses. There were small Disney blackboards in the toy section. They had Disney foil posters that you could color. Also had Disney holiday coloring books.

There were plenty of little Disney toys in the toy section. It might be a really good place to stock up on "cheap" Disney toys to bring out for the kids on the next WDW trip instead of paying the WDW prices.

I would have never thought of decorating our room and door without getting the idea from wonderful DISr's. We don't have any kids but one of the things we want to accomplish on our honeymoon is to "spread the joy". We are decorating for the other guests and kids more than us. We are going in mid-December.

I bought Mickey and Winnie the Pooh window clings for the window. I got a small Tinkerbell whiteboard for the door. I bought some gift bows that I plan to stick to the door. (I hope this is okay.) I also bought some Disney coloring books, crayons, and a small holiday jar for crayons. I'm hoping to tape coloring pages to our door and leave the crayons in the jar right outside with a note to encourage people to color. I don't know how many will, but it might be a fun thing for kids to do!

That is so sweet to think of others on your honeymoon! :yay:
I definitely think you will share the joy! I love the crayons/coloring sheet idea! You need a message board too! Best wishes to you both!

as far as small disney items, the .99 cent store has a huge section of disney related items that would make great stocking stuffers or stuffers for gift baskets. i know not good for decorating but just a thought!

Hey I was thinking of ordering some magnets from Artscow w/ my mickey heads on them. Do you think they would get stollen?

I bought a huge Cinderella's Castle Cling that will cover our whole window at POP :) And my daughter had these cute princess cut outs from one of her activity books that we can stick in there as well. This is definitly a princess trip :) Will post pictures when I get back but someone posted earlier in this thread with the same huge castle cling but with lights.

We are in Canada too, Ibuy everything on Ebay! We always decorate our stroller so this time the door and window will be lots of fun.. I am planning to surprise everyone buy sneaking away to set up the lights, window, door and small tree.. I also bought small stockings for the kids I think it will be a huge surprise walking up to the door.. I hope they see it from a distance! lol Any tips on decorating at deluxe resorts??

I usually use my scrapbooking supplies and my Cricut to cut mickey heads to tape in the window. Since our next trip is right after Thanksgiving, I'm thinking about bringing a strand of Christmas lights, too!

Hello! There are 2 Walgreen's in Bangor. One on Broadway and one on Oak St. You also might want to hit up the Dollar Tree. There is a Dollar Tree in the shopping center on Union Street (Airport Mall) right across from the road to get to the airport. Last time I was there they had Disney Christmas window clings. Sometimes Family Dollar has some Christmas Disney stuff as well, not sure if you have checked there! Hope you have a great time!! :)

We went to DollarTree yesterday to get some stocking stuffers and they have Mickey, CARS, and Pooh window clings (christmas), Disney Wrapping paper, and other Disney Christmas things.

We ended up picking up a TS3 chalkboard which I am going to put on our Door and find a way to mount the chalk to it for Disers to sign!!!!

This is from our window at POFQ in Oct.

Well, after reading this thread, I've decided I'm going to decorate my window at POFQ while there 1-8 Dec...now I'm wonding about how wide the window ledges are there as I do have a couple of small Scottish tartan trees I could sit on the ledge and a few other things that are "close to retirement" (no, I am NOT putting my DH in the window:rotfl2:)

I went to the Dollarama yesterday and picked up some mini lights (and remembered to get an extension cord as well...ha ha), some suction cups and a few acrylic snow flakes. I didn't see anything there that was Disney (at least yet) for Christmas there but am going to keep my eyes open...

I'm not sure if Zeller's (we're in Canada by the way) has anything Disney Christmas or not, but I also didn't see anything in our local Wal-Mart. I really don't want to spend too too much on anything as whatever we take, we will be throwing out before we leave (to make room for souveniers and not to make the suitcases overweight for the return flight)....

My friend tells me I'm nuts because our kids are grown up and it's just us two old folks going, but if I thought a decorated window would make even one kid happy, it would be worth the work:rotfl:. Someone please tell me it's just Disney Magic taking over and my mind hasn't left me yet.....

We have been going at Christmas time for the last 4-5 yrs..firts the week of Dec 7th is my B day and a few years that was the only time I saw my off to college DD. This year its just the 2 of us..and YES we decorate...this will be the 3rd year that we will be takig a little tree to put in our window at our resort. I used my cricut and made character ornaments with santa hats on..I made a Tink Topper..its a little fiber optic so no need to bring lights. Last year we brought 2 trees..1 for my daughter's room and we all decorated them together. Our trips to WDW Christmastime is OUR Christmas ..so people that think its tacky..so be it..We will continue the tradition at the World. This year we are also bringing a light up Mickey Head to put in the window also or hang on our door. We also bring a timer and have the tree come on at dark and then go off around midnight.
