Decorating your resort room?

I just wanna say, I love this thread! I've only read about 20 pages so far but it's wonderful! *___* Never in a million years would I have thought of decorating my room!

I can't believe I have another 18 months til I even go back to WDW. It will give me plenty of time to prepare for my decorations. :')

Thank-you guys! I love seeing everyone's photos!

Does anyone have a photo of their decorated room?

We didn't decorate our room but our resort window. I posted a couple of pictures on the previous page. See post numbers: 2216 and 2218.

We used two-sided tape on the names and mickey heads and suction cups for the lights.

I was just in DT over the weekend and they have some very cute Pooh, Mickey and Princess Easter clings. They also have Tink and the newest princess from the Princess and the Frog movie (sorry I have totally blanked on her name) clings and I guess they where Easter but they really didn't have anything on the main images that made them Easter so they could be used any time.
I do have a question about the clings. Don't you have to hang them on the outside of the window since the backside is the clingy part? I was worried about somebody taking them. We are staying at the ASMO resort is there one window in those rooms? I think I'm going to cut some things with my Cricut so how would be the best way to stick those to the window since they are paper? TIA

Just wondering - does anyone still do the thing where you put a sign up on your door for fellow Disers to write messages if they pass. If so a) how do you stick them (and pen) to the door and b) is it worth doing - do people sign in?

We're going to POP in April and thought it might be fun.

Thanks

Hi,
We were there in Sept and I had our window all decorated for Halloween.
It looked cool coming back at night from the parks. The Halloween colored lights were twinkling and I had black and orange mickey heads in the window too. Plus the little lime green ones for people to know we were diser's.
I found a light up mickey ghost at Walgreens too. It was so cool. Can't wait to be back this fall.

This may be a silly question but do people decorate their windows at the moderate resorts too? I've seen several people mention the value resorts. We upgraded and we are staying at CSR instead of ASMO in May. Just wanted to make sure it was alright to do it there too before I went to the trouble of making a few things. TIA

Well we are going to be there in July(@ POR) and I cerntly hope they will not mind, I plan On putting a diffnet July 4th theme to our room:cool1:

Yes, we decorated our window and door at CSR. The picture is on this thread somewhere. It's a little different because the windows have panes instead of one big sheet of glass, so you have to take that into account and not make your decorations too big.

Great I'll try and do a search for your pic. Would anybody happen to know an approximate size of each pane? I'll be making my decorations with my Cricut so I don't want to cut them too big. TIA

I wanted to say thanks to everyone here for the great ideas. We visited Pop in September (long story as to why I'm just now getting back on board here) and decorating the window made it extra magical!

I used the Mickey heads from Home Depot paint section, double sided polka dot curling ribbon and scrapbook paper. I punched a hole in the top of my "garlands" and tied loops to my signs and then hung them all with tiny suction cup hooks found at the dollar store.

Love this!!! So cute! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to go to the world potentially this Christmas. Planning on doing a U of M/Disney/TNA Wrestling themed window. Already have the plans in my head.

We'll be staying at sports this trip in May so we'll be bringing my DS6's sports string lights for our window... From there I have too much in the noggin... Gonna tie it in with a Mickey theme along with a few a few pixies and princesses and poof!!! Wish me luck!!!

When we went in October of 2008, We stayed at POP and were told by one of the CMs that it doesnt matter what you use to decorate as long as it comes off the windows and doesnt do any damage. We got some Halloween cling ons from the dollar tree. But we saw SO many decorated room windows. From lights, to stuffed animals, to signs, etc. Even on the doors. Very neat!!
