Decorating your resort room?

Hi everyone,
now I know that you all will be stocking up on your mickey heads from the home depot,, but I just thought I would ask (I won't take offence if anyone says no :)) if anyone would like to pick some up and post them to me I would be sooooo grateful. I am in the UK and there is no way that I could get some for myself,, I would be totally willing to pay the postage, plus any other costs (gas, parking etc) I don't know if i'm breaking any rules with this post,, so if I am please delete,, I have only been posting here for a couple of months and I'm not too sure of rules and regs etc. :confused3

If any one would want to do this pleeeeaasse pm me :thumbsup2

I want to put something about our 10th annniv. and AKL. But I'm not sure with all the construction if we will get moved:confused: Thanks fo cheering me on.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Where did you find tinkerbell lights!

I love all the ideas and have been to Disney many times, but have never decorated. The other day was my first trip to Home Depot for Operation Mickey Heads. My DW and I walked in there and I was scared out of my mind that someone would say something she kept saying "don't worry about it, they are free"...so we walk over there and she starts grabbing them by the handful (we had 300 when we got home). Now instead of putting them in her pocket she hands them to me and says here put these in your pocket...."WHAT!?".

I don't know how you guys do it I was scared the entire time that someone would stop us and ask us "why we needed so many paint samples?"...umm because we thought it would be cheaper than actually painting the wall...?:rolleyes1

So that got me wondering has anyone ever stopped you while or after "borrowing" mickey heads?

i bought them @ wal-mart for like $1.50. they were on clearance and they are like little cubes w/tinkerbell all over them. i will have them in my window @ the end of sept and i will post a pic.

Does anyone have anymore pictures of decorated room windows? I love to see what everyone has done! I'm going to decorate a window for the first time in October and am so excited about it. DH thought I was nuts at first but now he's getting into it. I found an old Mickey Halloween flag that doesn't fit on our new flag pole that I'm bringing. Plus I have a nice pile of Mickey Heads from HD started.

Oh wow,,, it makes me feel even more honoured now that you were nervous picking up the mickey heads!!!
:thankyou:

Yup, you can decorate your window/door anywhere as long as you clean it up :)

We are staying at the BEACH Club next year and will do our door and our balcony too :)

To all that have posted with ideas, thanks! never really considered doing any of this before as I am a DVC member now, so dont stay at the other resorts much (was glad to get this idea above).... but I also dont stay very long... as I live nearby. I am going to be going with a GF from college, and this would just blow her mind... but am thinking for "other" things... but its not going to be easy... have to do some thinking and some planning. What is the best adhesive for a door (especially because of the humidity) that is easy to clean off???

I think I have our plan for next month. DD wanted tinkerbell, DS wanted to stay with pirates so we compromised and we are doing a peter pan theme. I found a foam tinkerbell at the dollar store and I can reuse our pirate items from last year.

I have finally entered the ebay world and am now addicted. I ordered last night three window clings for our trip. Lilo and Stitch movie release, Lion King 1 1/2 (it was as close to lion king as I could get), and a cheshire cat!! We bought a box to start putting things we are buying for disney in. Only 15 months to go!:woohoo:

Also I asked the paint guy at home depot about paint samples and he said that he would have given me an entire box of alien green, but at this time they were out. So if you ask you never know what you will get.

bumping up....
we are heading to the world in 3 weeks...i needed to refresh myself with this thread!!

Hello everyone!! Alright it's been way too long since my trip and I'm sorry to all that I left hanging! As many of you know my father had some heart problems before our trip and went into surgery and then upon return things got worse and on and on. Well he finally went back to work today!! :yay :yay: he is back to normal and i'm soo happy!!! So thanks for the PMs reminding me to get my butt in gear! Here is the Hawaiian themed window. I only took 2 photos, but i know i have seen a few pictures posted of my window on different threads from people that saw it :)

ENJOY! any questions, just ask!!

That one is of our door! This was at night right after I finished putting it all up. the best adhesive in my opinion is packing tape! It comes off easily and then i usually just have to wipe it down real quick with a wet washcloth just to get the gumminess off :) DO NOT use masking tape, with the heat, it becomes like glue and you literally have to scrape it off!

That's the window! I have tikiman lights around the dge and white lights with orchids on them on the ledge. I used CRAYOLA brand window markers and they wiped off NO PROBLEM!

Love all of the decorations where can I find Disney themed lights?? Thanks soo much!!!!!!!

Yay!!! Great window and door, thanks for posting :goodvibes:
Sorry to hear about your father's surgery, Hope he's on the mend :flower1:

Love the window decoration. I'm sure this question has been asked and answered but how did you keep it on the window? Does it just stick?
Where did you get the plastic? It is a special kind?
