Decorating your resort room?

i have black, white and alien green mickey heads.

how many do you need?

i can send you some.

I am getting anxious for the Halloween lights to get into the stores. I bought some Disney Halloween window clings on eBay. They are HUGE!! I am going to put some plastic halloween decorations on the window sill...
any more Halloween ideas?

:Pinkbounc

Hang the plastic spiders from the top of the window frame with clear thread (fishing line type of thread) and they will be suspended and look pretty cool!! we did this last year!!

i am tooo excieted for Halloween stuff to come out!!!!

okay ideas:

for a birthday or christmas (we're doing this for christmas there next year)

"wrap" the door in wrapping paper so that it looks like a bi present!!! just make sure to cut out around the door handle and peep hole!!! the put ribbon horizontally and vertically so it looks like the BOW!!! :)

TARGET $1 spot has magnetic letters and numbers in a little tube!!
i bought two of the letters so that i can spell out where i am going on each day!!

On a piece of pape i wrote:

TODAY we are at:

and then i would use the letters to put:
MK
MGM
EPCOT
AK
MNSSHP

!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!

Good idea! :thumbsup2 Thanks! :sunny:

I go tthis idea from another DISser:

Get some type of Halloween fabric and hang it in the window. I would pin it to hte curtain, so that instead of seeing the white curtain from the outside, they would see the halloween or black or orange Fabric!!!! By pining it, it will come off easily and no harm done!!! :yay:

My DD will be celebrating her 6th Birthday at WDw. Here are our ideas on decorating the room window, door, table, etc.

Door

Lime green mickey's that placed together forms sentences.
(Hello from Ohio, our names, it's my 6th birthday, etc)

A huge 2'x2' post it pad (6 sheet pad)with an attached marker. I drew a map of the USA, South America, and Canada on one page and on another page Eruope, Asia, etc so people can sign their names to their state, providence, or country.

An array of coloring pages of Disney Characters which we laminated to tape all over the door.

WINDOW

Bought pool noodles and made 6 huge candles to place on the window ledge. We attached a different stuffed character on candle so it looks like they are climbing up the candle.

Took butcher paper and made a really cute huge cake to tape on the window.

Characters to hold the banner.

Princess party hats to tape on the window.

And made a birthday banner that says... "My parents gave me the World for my 6th Birthday." with a characture of DD, DH, and myself to go underneath it.

Room
Streamers and balloons to dress up the mirrors with a birthday banner.

Stuffed characters to set around(part of her gift)

I also took several pieces of floral foam and made a cake to set on our table. I used a thick paint to paint several layers on it to make it look like frosting and decorated it. We are going to set the characters around it so when she comes back in the room she'll find them having a party.

And since our beloved Chessie(COLLIE) can't go with us, I made up a cute frame with his picture in it to set on her bedstand. (he's decked out in a party hat, so he won't be missing the party!)

I'm shipping all of this down via ups so we don't have to pack anything.

Plus each day there, I made her an outfit to wear to each of the parks.
MGM-101 dalmations on the top and the skorts has Cruella chasing the puppies all over with alot of puppy prints.
Animal kingdom-The top has Mickey and Minnie in safari attire and the skorts has Lion King, tarzan, Jungle book all over it.
Magic kingdom- all the princess' on the top and tink, fairy godmother, etc on the skorts with alot of glitter.
Epcot-We're still working on this one. Haven't came up with anything but have 7 weeks to get it figured out...lol

Thanks! We've had a blast snowballing with the birthday themed trip!

Maddi, I wish i was your dd. She is just going to love everything. I'm very impressed with all your effort. Have a great time!

Wow, these are all such great ideas! I'll be staying at the Poly with my best friend next May and I'm definitely going to decorate our door and window. Since I'll be there during Memorial Day weekend, I'm thinking of using red, white & blue Mickey heads along with the Lime Green Mickey heads on my door. Oh, and a big American flag and streamers too! I should really be asleep now but I'm going pineapples with excitement!

Oops, I meant nuts. . .This is what happens when you're a 33-year old single college student who is watching Disney Channel reruns, dreaming of her dream WDW vacation, AND trying desparately to reach the 500 post goal to earn the right to know the Disboards secret handshake from DisUnc when she SHOULD BE ASLEEP!

Yesterday I cut Mickey ears (hat style) from black cardstock and placed pink gingham bows on half of them. I plan to either place them on the windows or the door of our resort room. I am still debating over writting our names on them or not?

I also have a small collection of Mickey head paint samples that I am still considering cutting out and placing on either the door or window too. We'll see....I think my family is starting to think I'm  at this point....if only it was the holiday season (not August) as I could get away with it so much easier.

RANGER POOH! awesome idea! i have a couple like tat (sans the bows, but that is anwesome idea) and we put our DIS names on them!! :yay:

what i do is go to home depot and borrow a whole lot of lime green mickey heads.

i cut them out and tape them all over the door and the window to my room.

i staple twine to the pencil and tape it to the door.
i ask for sign ins on my mickey heads for any disers that pass by.

never had any issues with housekeeping or cm's at the resort on what i do with the decorating.

What hotel did you do this in?

Another Thought

I'm thinking of decorating the frame AROUND the door with a garland of some sort!! just thought i would throw that option out there too!!

with all these great ideas and all the stuff i am bringing down this yr. i KNOW i will be in the furthest possible room in a building all alone!
