will everyone think we are weird if we decorate our window with lights and bring a small tree ... or is this done by a lot of people. I don't remember seeing any last year -- but I wouldn't have because of the location of our room - we only passed 2 other rooms daily.

Many guests decorate their resort room windows--even when it isn't the holiday! Especially DIS-ers! :)

As long as you don't poke any holes in the walls/casings or use tape/adhesive that removes the paint with the item, you'll be fine. :thumbsup2

I just bought a couple of 50-string lights to drape over the backs of the beds for the kids! They are so excited that we're going for "Christmas" (really it's next week)...I knew I had to make it festive. It'll be a surprise for my dh as well.

The tree in the window is a great idea!

I bought those suction-cup light holdie things that you put on the windows - so they would be easy up and easy off. So, I think I'm good.

df and I will be there for christmas and we don't have a window since we are staying at akl but we figure we'll put window clings either on the mirror or the balcony door and we also have snowman that hangs from the door knob and a little light up snowman that plugs into the bathroom and last but not least we have splurged and ordered one of the christmas trees from the disney florist. So our room will be festive I think. Oh yea, we'll have stockings too that we are bringing and hopefully hanging from a door knob or something.

We are just back from 10 days...

INSIDE our 5th floor BWI room we had.....

Stockings hung on the headboards

Small Christmas tree on the table inside the room.

Outside.....

Large (Dollar store) snowflakes hung from the awning

Blow up santa on the balcony

Snowman flag hung between the two rooms

Lights (left on from sunset to sunrise) strung along the balcony railing of both rooms (we had two connecting rooms).

We were F A B U L O U S !!!

We were in a SSR tree swap last year it was so nice to come in at night and turn on some lights. UIt made us look for others . One that really stood out was at the CR it was lit everynight all by it's self near the Top floors.

So go ahead just remember no nails or tape that will cause damage the 3M hangers and strips work great .

We were totally bummed when we realized we wouldn't be able to decorate our windows at the Poly/BC like we did for Halloween at Pop. There were more windows done than not. Never even thought about decorating the balcony! We're back on...

Wow -- you guys are FABULOUS.

Ok, I feel lame now. Off to add the Dollar Store to my list of things to do before Sunday!! :lol

ours will be the window with colored lights, blue tinsel/garland and a red aluminum tree ---

I know it doesn't match - but this is a hodge podge of left over stuff we are not using at home.

One more tip.....

If you need a hook to hang something.....try the "contact hooks". They are removable.

We just tied everything to the balcony with white yarn so it wouldn't show against the white balcony....oh yes.....the DO sell lights on white cords.

Have fun and happy decorating!

notes.......we ALWAYS decorate...no matter what season.

We send down special themed napkins (birthday for our August trip to DL for example - plus Happy Birthday banners for the balcony and the hallway side of our door.)

We are heading back for Flower and Garden festival. We will probably have a little floral garland on the balcony......flower napkins in the room....and a small arrangement of tissue-paper flowers I'll make for the room. Don't forget the flower pins for all the ladies (made with silk flowers ahead of time)....flower soap from the Basin store........the ideas are endless!!

Don't even get me STARTED on Halloween!

Yes, yes, I know.....it's silly. My new husband never knew about sending a box ahead for vacation until he met me. Now, however, he is the first one diving into the box to decorate the room!

It's just part of the disney experience for us now!

Enjoy the decorations!

Don't forget Walmart - they have little $1.00 <--yes, one dollar christmas trees....add a strand of 50 lights, a few silk flowers and you are decorated!

There is a super walmart on Vineland <--very convenient to WDW if you don't have time to find a Dollar Store.

Dollar Stores in my area are always a first-stop for room decorations.

My budget for the Christmas tree in the room was $12....and it was very nice....left it for Edith our made (maker of many towel animals....wearing our santa micky hats and assorted christmas decorations).

Dollar Stores are also VERY good for Halloween!

Ok ok...I'm calm...have FUN!!
