I have been toying with the idea of doing this. But I am so afraid to mess up the book. I know I will not be happy with the leaving my lo's in there if it doesn't turn out right. Any suggestion, products you have used? Pic's would be really nice! I have thought about fabric paint. But it really looks kind of yuck if you don't get it just right. Thanks!

I had a denim scrapbook and I tried this with and I can give you two suggestions:

1)Iron-ons work great. I had no problems with them and my three year old hasn't torn them off (yet).

2)Fabric glue shows through ribbon. I thought it was a perfect adhesive for attaching ribbon to my book and I was really disappointed in how it turned out.

That's all I can give you because that's all I did, LOL. Fabric paint would turn out great, I bet.

That is very cute. Does anyone have any ideas how to attach the ribbon with out the glue problem though????Any other suggestions.

Not sure if this is really a help or not. But about 13 years ago when I made a fabric cover for DS's babybook, I used a hot glue gun. It didn't bleed through, but it did leave a raised bump under the ribbon. Maybe if it was spread out first it would be better.

You could use fusible webbing....
It might be a pain to work with to get it on the ribbon just right, but it should work....

Run the ribbon through a mini Xyron machine. The machines are only about $5 (on sale) and you can run anything up to 1 -1/2" wide through it. I usually try to run two strips of ribbon through at a time to avoid waste. Be sure you have a permanent cartridge and not one of the ones with repositionable adhesive on it.
