Less then a month to go for us.

:cool1:WOOHOO:cool1:

Is anyone else planning on decorating their car for the long journey? I would love to hear your ideas.

I haven't decided yet.

I was thinking of getting some of those car markers and writing Disney or bust down the side. Then I was thinking about a Lime Green Mickey head on each of the rear windows.

I was going to decorate the car but then I thought I am Canadian so I already stand out...lol. Plus there is going to be a roof-topper on my Minnie-van.I have a mouse antenna.

YAYS! We aren't the only Disney Car decorating Freaks!!!! Here is our van from last year.
We used a combo of the Window Markers and Wall Decals which lasted really good!

This year we are having custom vinyl images printed (This years theme is mischief makers/anti-hero) including a homage to Toy Story 3 --- IN 3-D!!! (Yes we are attaching a Lotso Hugging Bear plush to our front grill for this trip!!!!) :lmao::rotfl2::cool1:

We are also from Canada, and when we hit the border, the look on the guards face was classic... especially when he asked where we were going :)

Got lots of honks and waves, and met and talked to a lot of people on teh drive down and back as well!!

Wow, I must be getting old....I can't imagine why you'd want to decorate your car.

where do you cross?? We have three borders to choose from here.

I was going to write something "honk if you love Disney World" but I wasn't sure if that makes us targets.

a tip if you go the vinyl clings route..

grab a sponge and some soapy water, and heavily wet your vehicle where you plan on applying the cling. Place the cling and set it right, then use a card to squeegee the water out. It will allow you to adjust until you know where you want it, then stay in place and no air bubbles!!!

what would figment say?

i have a DVC sticker on my window (along with doombugy plates on front of my black SUV...if u squint it looks just like one, really it does.;)). makes me smile when i see the disney references and many folk have commented & i've met many other area disneyfiles:thumbsup2.

rationale is probably along the same vein as people choose to decorate their cars on the way to WDW or wear wear silly hats & clothing while in the parks they wouldn't be caught dead in back at home

whatever floats your 'friendship' boat;)

We cross at Ft. Erie. We have never had any problems with being "Targeted" the guard was amused just trying to hide it :)

I meant more as you are driving. Are people not going to think hey these people have money if they can afford Disney??

We are still waiting on some news from my hubby's work. Hopefully its good news otherwise we have to reschedule our plans.

hayyy where did you get all those disney clings from for all over your van?

These ones we got from the Sandy Lion Sticker Warehouse (they are made just down the street from us). They are the ones that you use to decorate bedrooms.

Unfortunately they don't do Fab 5 any more, they are just doing Toy Story 3 , Tink and the Princesses, so we went a step further this year and created custom art and had it printed by a printing company.

You can get the current clings everywhere.. Walmart, Home Depot, Target etc etc etc..

Ohh that kind of target.. well.. for the most part, just being from out of state puts a target on you if you are worried about that. For the most part, after booking and paying for a Disney trip, you are more likely to be POOR!! (You can point out if you were rich, you would be flying not driving :rotfl: )

I guess, being a big burly tattooed person i don't even think about those issues.

We have done this a few times though, and NEVER had an issue.

Good luck with your Hubbies news! i hope it's :thumbsup2

Wholly Cow "bdoyledimou"!!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!

I have never heard of being a target because of your plates.:confused3

Living in two very different state, NY and NC, I really only notice plates when they are very different. Something like Hawaii or Alaska are the only one I really take notice of. Canadian plates are as unusual as my NY ones so I don't think anyone would stand up and point it out.

As for thinking your rich? I have only come across two kinds of folks. Ones who are WDW fans and others who can't understand why someone would spend two weeks at an amusement park for vacation. So when I come into work and announce how many days I have left till two weeks on free dining and waking to Zebras on my lawn. No one there thinks I am rich. CRAZY? Most definately.

Of course that fact that I have been slowly decorating my '02 Dale Jr Monte Carlo SS with spiders helps too.:rotfl:

@bdoyledimou your van is so cute if i seen you on the road i would take a picture
we drive down for christmas i put a mickey wreath on my front grill attached tight as i can get it, a mickey snowman in my back window, and a snowman mickey antenna topper we get lots of honks along the way

I LOVE the idea of decorating the car for our next WDW trip in December!!!!:worship: I always decorate our resort window(with no extra work for mousekeeping, of course!), but I had never thought of decorating the car! My kids will love that idea! Thanks for starting this thread!!!!

****Tip: For those of you out there that like to get creative you can design and print your own window clings-you can buy Vinyl Cling Print Paper on-line or at any office supply store!!!!!:thumbsup2 DIS's forum DISsigns can give you lots of pictures/themes to choose from! You can also buy Magnetic Print Paper too, but I wouldn't use it on a car because it isn't waterproof! It works great on resort doors though!:cool1:

Just picked up the custom made wraps from the printer! They look AMAZING !

Here is a sample The Center one will be for the hood of the van..
