Hello all!

I'm a newbie to DIS! (but I'm not new to Disney :cool1: )

So, I've been perusing the boards this week, and I've come across so many acronyms and terms I'm not familiar with. Can anyone help me decode the boards, so I can understand all I can learn about resort discounts and such! I'm new to planning a Disney trip on my own!

I'm curious about the following:
- bounce back
- AP
- BB
- ***
- DIS visa holder

Any other codes/acronyms you can provide would be helpful! Or just tips on what to sign up for to get PINs (?) for discounts? :confused3:confused3:confused3

Bounce back or BB = an offer for a return booking that you can only book while you are still at Disney on your trip.

AP = annual pass

DIS VISA holder = Chase Bank has a Disney branded VISA card. Often, VISA holders are allowed to book special offers a short time before the general public.

I didn't know what that other abbreviation was, wasn't ringing a bell. Maybe abbreviation for a particular travel agent that is not allowed to be posted on the Dis.

Welcome to the DIS!

If you will go to the welcome forum, there is a sticky that list all the abbreviations used on the DIS. I find it to be very helpful, but I was not able to find ***.

*** - refers to Magical Vacations Travel - one of many Disney authorized travel agencies.

Thank you everyone for your input, and I'm sorry I'm asking questions that can be answered by another board (though BB and *** weren't on it, so this was a bit helpful!). :worried:

Unfortunately, the DIS boards are so vast, I got a bit lost in it all and panicked!

But, can anyone give me any tips on anything to sign up for to get Disney notifications/discounts in the post or via email? I've read about people receiving information this way, instead of trolling the interwebs for the info!

Thanks again! :artist:

To get notifications of discounts coming up or released I would suggest signing up for Mousesavers newsletter at Mousesavers.com as well make sure you create an account with Disney's own website. The more ways Disney can get your email address, mailing address, etc., increases your chances of getting a PIN (a personal discount code), direct from Disney. Getting a PIN from Disney is just the luck of the draw. I got my first one this year in many years of going to Disney so it is extremely limited. However, if this is just overwhelming for you and just a lot of work to try and sort through, then I really recommend that you go through a Disney authorized travel agent like the one that sponsors this discussion board which is Dreams Unlimited. It doesn't cost you anything to use them (they get a small commission from Disney). That is what I did for my first trip and I was glad I did. They will watch for discounts and when Disney releases them they will do their best to get them for you. Good luck!
