So I take it you don't spay or neuter your pets? After all that is mutilating. The only reason to do that to an indoor pet is for the owner and not the pet. Oh. and dressing ones dog like a troll borders on abuse IMO too.
LOL. I wonder if the poster asked the dog for consent first?

We had 2 cats declawed as kittens. We did it not only for the furniture, but to keep our kids from being scratched. Our cats didn't have any problems from it. From what we could tell, after a day or two, they were back to normal and didn't seem to notice any difference. I'm not saying this is the right choice for everyone, but I really fail to see how a couple of days of soreness, followed by years of being pampered by a loving family, qualifies as animal abuse or cruelty.

I have had only one of our many cats declawed, and we have had more than 25 over the past 28 years or so. The one who was declawed was very aggressive and hurt the other cats. We only had his front claws removed.

Our vet also does the laser method, which is much less intrusive than the older method, which basically removes the last phalanx of the toes. The laser method vaporizes the nail forming portion of the toes. There is much less bleeding, and speaking from personal experience, laser surgery can be less painful than traditional types. That said, I still wouldn't want to declaw my cats.

We had our cat declawed and It's back legs removed so It could not jump on the furniture she's doing fine. ;)

I am too busy to reply at the moment. Please try again later.

Many cats get put to sleep each year at animal shelters. Is that outcome prefereable to a cat being declawed so that it can have a long happy life with a loving family? Not in my opinion. Remember I said OPINION.

We could not have kept our cat with claws.

Exactly! I would expect to have my fingers cut off at the joints if I ran around doing 10k plus in damage!!

He is a happy outgoing indoor kitty sans claws.

I wouldn't put anyone down for declawing their cats. I do know that I've had several and we were able to control the clawing for all but one. I've also never had a cat claw any of us unless they were kittens and got carried away.

I dislike the idea of amputating their toes but I suppose that it is better than being homeless. It just makes me uncomfortable. And yes, that's just my viewpoint.

I thought the dog was dressed as the Flying Nun.

I thought it looked like Yoda. Is he a troll, gremlin, or alien? LOL!

Closing thread at OP's request.

Please speak to each other respectfully.
