I am booked for a Cat 10 on Deck 7 but found a much cheaper Cat 10 on Deck 2....what to do!!!!
Can anyone tell me Pros and Cons of the 2 decks

Betsy,
We’ve never been on deck 7 so I really can’t speak for what it’s like, but we have been on deck 2 and have always enjoyed the location, and your observation is right, ”It’s the same cabin”. However, there is a higher chance of noise because you’re under deck 3 which has many public areas and deck 2 has 229 cabins verse deck 7 with 180 which could lead to more hall traffic noise. For that reason my favorite deck for a Cat. 10 cabin is on deck 1, no overhead noise, almost no hallway traffic (only 42 cabins) and, (this is strictly my theory) if the ship is not full, deck one would be the first cabins DCL might try to upgrade if they can clear all guests from the entire deck.

Good Luck in deciding and I hope which ever you choose you have a great vacation!

Went higher on the last cruise, kids didn't like it. I'm just a deck 2 girl

We "upgraded" at the port from a Cat 11 on Deck 7 to a cat 8 porthole on Deck 2. We did hear the noise of the dining room above us when they were cleaning up after second seating and there were some other noises. If you are a light sleeper this might bother you. I can sleep thru anything, literally. I have slept thru earthquakes and burglars with police coming to our house and talking with my husband, so once I got to sleep it did not bother me. I do know the noise went on thru the night because I had a kidney stone on Christmas Eve and after visiting the great medical facility I was awake off and on thru that night and heard the creaking and groaning of the ship. If you are not a light sleeper there are advantages to being on deck 2. i.e. FIRST OFF at CC.

We stayed in 2020 last year and did not hear a peep from above. We're in 2601 in two weeks so I'll let you know. Deck 2 is great:

1. Short walk to dinner :cake: and the shows :dancer:
2. First off at the ports :moped:
3. Being lower on the ship = less motion  :faint:

That being said, you could be under a public area that is loud :jumping1: :rockband:

Good luck!

Rick :drinking1

dont save the money yes its the same size cabin but its a different ball game on deck 7. you are higher up which meand lees movement if you dont get the very front of the ship on deck 2 and get the middle of the ship you will hear and feel the engines all the time. you are closer to the pool deck and the buffet and snack places i have stayed in 2516 and 7528 and deck 7 is the better choice. we booked for 7/2006 and i got cat 2 room 8515 can t wait to see this hope this helps enjoy your trip :earsboy:

I said save the money, but that's only because you said "much cheaper". I really liked deck 7 for it's location. But I'm cheap, so I'd save the $. Now if we're talking $10-15 a person, I'd say it's worth it. But $50 or $100, save the $.

And I've stayed in cat 10s on both decks (7005 and 2573). To me, the primary difference was access to deck 9 where I spent most of my time!

If you are aft on deck 7, then you are closer to the "not so secret anymore" Secret deck 7. It is still a fairly quiet place to hang out. I agree with tkd lisa...better access to deck 9 from this area too.

2608, 2610, 2612, 2614,2616,2618, 2108, 2110, 2112, 2114, 2116, 2118....My favorites in order...if any of these are available, I am good to go!!!!!

We stayed in rooms 2043 and 2045 and i swore if i had to stay there again, I would not go.Starting at 10:00 there was music, dancing and chair moving that was horribly loud and it lasted until way in the night. It would not have been so bad but we had two small children trying to sleep. I understand, if your not under the bar level 2 is fine.

If it is a room under the night clubs I would stay with deck7. If under the dinning room , I would save the money and move to deck 2. Just check room location!

ok..so I booked the Deck 2...because I have late seating and it is room 2571.. I think I will be ok...no bar noise I think.
Thanks!

GLad to see 2116 on your list. We are booked in that one for next December. We had 2652 last time and it was pretty noisy.
