Which deck would be better if staying in a CAT 6, 7 or 8? Would deck 5 or 6 be better in terms of location and accessability to other areas of the ship? What have your experiences been for those who have stayed on these decks? Thanks in advance for any replies! :sunny:

I love both those decks....I think deck 6 the most..I find it middle ground to most things...Up to the pools, down to the dining, and there is a laundry on deck 6 as well....Close also to deck 7 aft.. :)

Deck 5 has less staterooms, so generally a lot quieter...And close to the kids clubs if you have young ones, makes it easier.....

IMHO you can not go wrong with either deck.. :goodvibes

I agree that either is great. If you are fairly midship on 5, 6, or 7, it is really quick and easy to get anywhere, if you don't mind a few stairs. We were very pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to get from place to place, as long as you don't have to wait for elevators. We were on deck 6 close to midship and we have booked that same location for our next cruise.

Thanks, looks like 6 may work. The only child in our group is my niece and her mom doesn't mind being a deck away from the kids clubs. The more centrally located we are, the better.

If nothing is available on those decks midship, go to deck 7. We had that and it was a great location! Close to secret deck 7 and laundry room. We had no noise problems either.

:) Thanks PPPiglet! I'll definitely keep that in mind.

BTW, I see you're from So Cal as we are. Wanted to get a glimpse of the Magic before she heads back home to Port Canaveral but decided we would wait until our first cruise in '07. Don't want to ruin the excitement of seeing her for the first time!

We plan on going back in 2007! (for our 25th anniversary). We have never been to WDW either, but don't know if we would do it at that time. Plus we don't know where the Magic will be yet in 2007! I'd be happy if it came back here. We booked when we were on board in June. You're going to love it. Believe me.. the time flies planning it. On this board I felt like I was cruising all year round!

We loved Deck 6. Easy to get to everything.

hmmmmmm.....sounds like I made the right choice for my first/solo cruise. I'll be 6141, Cat 11. I figured a quick run up to the deck 7 verandah with my early morning tea would compensate for an inside stateroom!

We love deck 5 and have always booked there. I do have 3 teenagers who don't use the kids clubs on deck 5 as there club is up higher but my boys love being near the movie theater. It's also very quiet towards the back as there are not very many staterooms so you don't get a lot of traffic.

Yes, the theater. I also have 3 teens who I expect will want to be nearby as well. But then again, how much farther could they be from deck 6? Still debating and I'd better make up my mind soon. :teeth:
