Can anyone please tell me if deck 4 is the one people use to take their walks? Also does anyone know the distance 1 lap around the deck equals?

Hi,

Yes deck four (4) is the one deck that has been set up for walking. And the distance is 3 laps = 1 mile, so each lap is a third of a mile. You can also walk deck 9 and deck 10 but most everyone uses deck 4.

WOW!!! I walk at the track at my sons school and that is 1/4 for 1 lap. I often wondered how that distance would compare to the ships size. I know there are larger ships but to someone like me who's never cruised before it will be quite exciting to see. Hope I don't look too foolish whem my chin drops to the floor.

Deck 4 is WONDERFUL...
great for walking/running.. wonderful chairs for laying around.. great schuffle board..

my favorite deck

I agree. In the early morning deck 4 is my favorite place to hang out and go for a run. After that I head up to deck 10, hop in the shower, dip in the adult pool, cool off then head forward in front of the basketball court to cool off and enjoy the breeze. All before the rest of the troupe is awake :) .

We just booked again yesterday. 6 mos to go and I can't wait. The D cruise is the most relaxing vacation we've ever taken.

I ran on deck 4 a couple of days on our last cruise. I used the treadmill in the spa a couple of days and ran on Castaway Cay on Castaway day. Use deck 4 early (before 8 AM) otherwise it gets a little crowded with non-exercisers...

I was pretty sure that 4 times around the ship was a mile, not 3...can someone else add to this...

there used to be painted on one of the walls on deck 4 a sign that said that 4 laps = 1 mile, but that mile is a nautical mile (approximately).

The ship is about 970 feel long. The deck 4 track does not go the entire length of the ship, but it's pretty close. It is also about 105 feet wide (but to me it doesn't seem that wide on deck 4).

This is the first time I saw the lap sign. My DW, who runs and runs, is wondering where the sign is located. Is it in the the Rope Room?

Jeff,

The sign is posted on the bulkhead about miship near an exit door from one of the lobby areas. I don't remember if its on both sides of the ship or only one.
