I've been on many cruises, but never this low. Anyone out there reassure me that this is a good spot to be at? Do you feel so close to the bottom of the boat it's nauseating? sp??
I'm getting a little worried now. I"m NOT counting on an upgrade at all, so I need to be happy with where we're at. We didn't have much of a choice in this category.
Our last cruise we had a verandah and loved it!! Wouldn't have any other way, except this is only a 4 day. But for 7, for sure the verandah is the only way to go.
We've just never been on Disney and not sure of the layout and all.

Any reassurances out there will be of great comfort!
I'm a VERY picky person.

Thanks!!

My family and I were on the 2nd deck this past Spring for the "Mystery" cruise. I heard many people were actually coming down from the upper decks to our floor and sleeping in the hallways because they were "less" queasy on the lower deck during the bad storm we went through.

Other than the night of the storm, no one in my party of 5 had any problems being closer to the water.

I love deck 2! Can't compare it to a verandah because I've never had one. We will be on deck 2 by choice for the third time next month. I love being close to the water. It's also nice because the restaurants and bars are just above you so you can easily take the stairs. When you need an elevator they come pretty quick and are never full. Enjoy!

I was just on the 08/02 Western cruise down on Level 1 and it was great. We had no problems at all. Easy to get on and off at ports. No noise. We liked it so much we booked again for next year on the same level. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We always book a verandah.......but, when DCL cancelled our Nov 2002 sailing we quickly rebooked the 4 night Wonder since we were going to be there at WDW. We booked the Wednesday before thus all the verandahs were spoken for. I was very disappointed to be that low in the ship......but, when we got into the room I was pleasantly surprised. You are still well above the water line and there is much less noticeable rocking in the event of a storm. We rebooked a verandah but if thats not in the budget the room are nice.....plus less elevators for disembarking and going to dinners and shows.

Thanks to all of you! I'm feeling a little better now. Since we're spending enough money right now, I think we'll stay with where we're at. IF we got an upgrade to a verandah, I wouldn't complain!! :Pinkbounc
But I'll be ok with where we're at.

Laura,
We had 5 cabins on deck 2 aft in Dec. and LOVED the location.
The lower has less motion, seemed to be less noise, congestion, yet only a flight from dining, etc. I think you will also be happy w/the huge porhole, bath and half. Enjoy!!

Actually, everything I've ever read states that lower is better - from a seasickness point of view.

We were on Deck 2 on our cruise and we loved it. You are not below sea level. Honest! Your porthole window will look out at the ocean from above.

You're very close to everything that's on Decks 3 and 4. Just a couple of flights up.

We liked it and would do it again.
