Deck 2 Oceanview Rooms on the Magic

We stayed in an inside room on deck 2 on our first cruise. We will be in an ocean view on deck 2 this next cruise. We liked it. We didn't notice much noise.

I will be on Deck 2 again next month on the TA....could have booked a veranda but choose Deck 2 for convenience.

Deck five is really good, hence why the kids clubs are located there on the ships.

There is less effect forward and aft on deck five, than on deck two where your closer to the sea, closer to the waves, the current, and on the engines. The science is that the closer you are to anything the biggest effect you get, the further away you are the least effect. Cause and effect.

Then why when I was on Deck 8 forward 2 weeks ago on the Fantasy did we hear noise and feel vibrations each time in port. It is not just on Deck 2 that you feel vibrations.

So, we just got back yesterday from our Med cruise on Magic. We were in a 9C - room 2114 which is right near the aft elevators. We loved this room! We didn't have any problems with noise either from above or from outside the room with people going past. It was super convenient to just pop up in the elevator to Cabanas and the drinks station. Our room didn't have a connecting door, but it did have an extra drawer / cupboard unit that we didn't have in our 9B room on a previous cruise. It was really useful having the extra storage space.
We found it easy just to pop up and down the stairs to deck 3 for Cariocas, Lumieres, the lobby, guest services etc.
We would definitely choose this room again, or any in the 9C category on deck 2.

Hope that helps!

Claire :)

We had 2114 on the Northern Europe cruise in July and also loved the room and location. It was particularly nice for that itinerary because for all of our ports, the gangway was on deck 1. When we returned (exhausted) from excursions, it was wonderful to only have to walk up one flight of stairs and be right at our stateroom door. Our friends were in 2116 and also loved their room.

Another vote for deck 2. We prefer midship as well.

We always take the stairs. It helps us burn off those extra desserts that somehow keep sneaking onto our plates.
