We just came back from the 3night cruise. We were in an inside cat 10 on deck 1.
Our room over the noisest and most annoying banging. When the ship was moving -the walls creaked and glasses clanged- I felt like I was on the titanic.
The carpet on that floor was dingy and the ceiling was lower. I DO NOT take deck 1 if you can get anything else.
The pursar could have cared less and we had to miss the sailaway party and spend about 2 hours to finally get moved.
The attitude was basically tough and because out category 10 was sold out - we had two options. Pay about $300 more for the next category (which was a window also on deck 1) or a category 11.
We ended up going down a category to an 11 - got to mid-ship on deck 6 and loved it. I found no difference in the room other than the bathroom. And my husband and I are larger people- so the 1 bath worked out better. It was a bit roomier than the split feature.
I did not mind the inside room - missed the sunlight to wake us up in the morning - could have slept all day. But because it was so dark - I got a great nights sleep.
Plus when the ship was rocking forward - and really bad aft.
In our mid-ship inside deck 6 room - you did not even realize that you were moving. It was actually pretty ok.
I will never ever ever sail on this ship again on deck 1.
