Ive seen lots of comments on deck 2 and other decks, but not much about deck 1
We are going on our first cruise and have deck 1, are we missing something. Not worried about stairs or being away from anything, but just wondering.

Deck 1 (on the Magic class ships) only has a few oceanview rooms in the forward part of the ship. The portholes in those rooms are two smaller ones, not one large one.

The area is fairly quiet, as it's not a through way to any other elevator bank.

You can find specific room reviews here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm

Just look for the room number (regardless of what ship it's listed under). For some reason they just lump all ships together by room number on the actual page.

Thanks Shmoo, we are on Wonder and have oceanview room 1078. I have seen that thread not worried that nothing about our room. There is 1076 right beside. Just on all discussions not much said about deck 1, so not sure if there were any real issues being in the bowels of the ship.

Well, none that I know of. Except for the small portholes, I'd probably book a room there. I really like the large portholes.

I think that part of the lack of discussion of deck 1 rooms is that there are so few of them--42 rooms on the Magic class ships. (25 ocean view, 17 inside) Room 1078 looks like a good location--nice and midship and there will just be staterooms above you on deck 2.

We have stayed Deck 1 on the Wonder and are doing so again later this year. Pluses are that it is super easy to get an elevator and it's very quiet. We usually do a 4B for our family of 5 but if we are doing insides for any reason, mainly to accommodate extended family on holiday cruises, we get connecting 10Cs on deck 1.

Because of this post, we just changed from an inside on deck 2 to an ocean view on deck 1. Thanks. I liked the pictures and there were several reviews of 1066 which is easy to remember so I chose that cabin. Thanks so much for the pictures PrincessSchmoo.
