I just learned yesterday about Minnie's Seasonal Dine. My husband, almost 2 year old and I will be traveling in January. We were already planning to eat at Hollywood & Vine for breakfast and Sci Fi for dinner. We will be doing tusker house, so although Minnie isn't there (sad for me) our daughter will see the rest of the Fab 5 there. Please offer your opinions on the following options:

A. Breakfast at H&V and Dinner at Sci Fi
B. Breakfast at H&V and Dinner at H&V
C. Early lunch at Sci Fi and Dinner at H&V

We are going next month with our almost 2.5 year old. She loves Disney Junior, and I wanted to see the crew in their holiday gear and eat seasonal food, so we're doing both! Since they are both buffets, we just got a 10am breakfast and a 6:25 dinner, and figured we'd eat a snack in between. :-)

I would say either A or B...eat a good hearty breakfast and then a snack or small shared lunch and then a dinner...otherwise you may be to full for your dinner options

Keep in mind that Minnie's Seasonal Dine is dinner only. Earlier meals at H&V are the DJ crew, and that's usually Jake and Sofia right now, if I'm not mistaken or they haven't swapped anyone. (Happens.)

Yes, that's where our conundrum is coming in. We want to see BOTH groups. :(

Yes, we do this quite a bit. It stretches our dining dollars and we also like to start our Disney days with a nice big sit down breakfast. I'm glad they are working on expanding breakfast options in the park. It suits our touring style.

Since you are getting most of the fab 5 at another meal, I would do your original plan. The buffets are nice in some ways with a little one (free food, food is ready, entertainment) but they are also a pain in the rear end.

I didn't realize your other option was Sci Fi. As much as I LOVE Sci Fi (it is seriously one of my favorite restaurants in Disney, solely based on atmosphere), we took our daughter when she was almost 1.5, and she was not a fan because it's so dark in there. I don't plan to take her back until she's old enough to appreciate the atmosphere for what it is, which may be at least 5 or so. Just something to keep in mind if your kiddo has problems with really dark rooms; this place is VERY dim to accommodate the movies playing and the drive-in feel. :)

We just returned and my little guy who is around the same age didn't care for Sci-Fi. He loved H&V (DJ version) so much that I booked it for our trip next month(Minnie version). In my opinion the character meals were nice because it cut down on waiting in lines to see everyone. Since he loves Mickey we went to multiple locations where he was at and my guy squealed every time. I would go with how well you think your daughter will do with the characters and lines if you choose to wait to see some. Good luck!

She loves characters. This will actually be her third trip to the world, so I'm not worried about the characters. I was concerned about her being bored at Sci Fi because even though it's TV, it's not cartoons. Did you think it was too dark or he was just bored?

He was bored. The screen repeats old films which weren't his favorite, we were in a car so the highchair faces the table not the screen, he was distracted by the wait staff passing right behind him and didn't eat well, and truly the food was a little greasy for me this time. He didn't care to be there, so it doesn't make my rush back list. The fact it was dark didn't bother him which was a plus. If she loves characters I would stick with the H&V.

We have never been to H&V but my 3 kids including our 2 1/2 year old LOVED Sci Fi a couple of weeks ago. It was our only non character meal this trip , so it was a nice break. The menu has a lot of kid approved :) options. We put our son in a booster seat in the car between us so he could see the screen. You could try looking at both menus and see if they have options your little one likes. My kids would get bored of going to the same restaurant twice in one day because each meal could take at least an hour once you get in. I'm sure your little one will love it either way!

A for me. I'm not a big H&V fine and IMO go for breakfast which is not only the cheapest option but the least likely to get screwed up. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we love SciFi for its fun atmosphere and solid food options

Ok we've decided that we're going to do H&V for two meals. I'm pretty sure it will trip the baby out that there are different characters, but breakfast and dinner are different foods and we have always had great meals there.

Thank you for the input everyone :)
