Let me first say that I've been reading the posts on this forum for a couple of weeks and I really enjoy the insight that everyone brings to WDW.

It's been about 10 years since my last trip to WDW, and needless to say I'm very excited about my upcoming trip. I will be going with my wife, my mother, and two daughters (ages 2 and 4) in early November of this year. However, I'm absolutely stressed to death trying to decide which resort to stay at.

I've narrowed it down to 3 (POR, Contemporary, or Poly). The two deluxe resorts would be nice since they are on the monorail, but I'm not sure how much difference that is going to make on our trip. I've read wonderful things about POR and believe that it would be the most economical approach for my family since we will be flying to Orlando.

I'm leaning towards POR, as you can probably tell. Please someone comfort me that this won't be a bad move.

Thanks.

I just got back from Riverside this past December and I loved it! The rooms were spacious, although with 2 very little ones that shouldn't be an issue. The pool was nice and it was a quiet resort.

If you have to go to Riverside you won't be dis-appointed!

:Pinkbounc As you can see, we have been to POR several times, some of the most special when it was called Dixie Landings. I have always thought it was one of the most beautiful of the resorts, the landscaping and grounds are wonderful. I'm sure you will have a great time there, the food court is fabulous for families.::yes::

First off, welcome to the Dis!!!!

We have stayed at POR 2x and the Poly a handful of times. While we really enjoyed POR, we didnt find it very "magical". To us it was a very nice hotel. The Poly on the other hand is so Disney. Between the monorail being right there and the beach with the view of the castle(perfect for seeing Wishes or the EWP), I would definitely pick the Poly. However if it is too much to afford, I dont think anything is wrong with POR, I would just prefer the Poly. :D

We have stayed at every deluxe hotel and will tell you that my personal favorite is POR. Its not about the money, its about the atmosphere! You will luv it!

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I've just about decided on the POR (although my wife now wants to consider the POFQ). Either way, I think we will still have a great time and I'm really looking forward to the trip.

Now if I can just get that 7 for 5 deal coming out soon......

Not been there for 10 years? Have two small kids (and their first time, too)?

Definately stay at Poly. You're going to want to be immersed in Disney Magic - and that's the Poly. Also, with mom and two little girls, you're going to want to take a break around noon (even in November). You'll also probably spend most of your time at MK, and there's nothing nicer than hoping on your personal monorail for a direct trip back to your hotel.

To someone who hasn't been there a hundred times, being on the monrail line makes a BIG difference.

I think you should treat yourself - and your family to a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they'll never forget. Get a lagoon view in the Tahiti building and your girls will remember watching the fireworks from their room for years to come.

We have never regretted staying at the Polynesian for our first trip with kids. They were in first and fourth grade at the time. What a wonderful trip. Of course, we paid a fortune since we purchased a package, but we did get upgraded to concierge for our 10 night stay.

I would definitely choose the Polynesian with two young children. It looks like you have chosen Port Orleans, but if you are still hesitant, think about the Polynesian.

You will not regret it.

We stayed at POR in Dec 2003. We really liked it, its very pretty there. The only thing I didnt like is depending on your room location it could be quite a hike to the bus stop and to the food court.
