Decided to make the call!

After a week of frustration reading these boards and waiting for a free dining pin code, I finally took the advice of several people and called Disney to see if there was a code attached to my name for free dining. I got a great cm and she checked for me and to my surprise, there was a discount attached and I was able to get the free dining for August! I really couldn't believe it! So, for any other pin code sufferers out there, make the call! It was definitely worth it!

Congrats....everytime I call to inquire about a discount....I am disappointed. I think WDW has us on the "no pin for you" list. Have a great trip!

ok, so here's a question!

If I call, and find out I have a pin...will they let me call back after I talk to DH to decide what we want to do, or will they want me to book something right then?

I'm sure they would let you discuss it before you book it. We had originally booked with the 20%, 30%, 40% code. I got prices for both the moderate and villa and was able to discuss with my husband before I booked the trip (actually a few days later).

FYI....
You can call, have them price out the trip, and then ask for a COURTESY HOLD. They will put a hold on your offer for up to 7 days before your $200 deposit is due (for a package, or 1 night rate for room only).

I learned this the hard way last year. Each time I called back I got a different, MORE EXPENSIVE, rate (because the room categories for my family kept changing). The PIN will still be there, but if you get some exact #'s on a resort... take that hold so the offer will still be there later! :rotfl:

OK - another question about calling.

I already have a trip booked through AAA. If I call and I find out I have a pin attached to my name, then what? Can I tell it to AAA and have them handle it?

I had a similar question. I always book through a TA, if I call and find out I have a PIN, will they give it to me so that my TA can use it when I book with her?

Yes, I believe your TA or AAA can take care of this. We booked our trip last Feb through AAA and after we had booked, Disney offered the stay 4 nights, get 3 free. My agent actually called me to tell me that we would be getting the discount. I realize that these pin codes are attached to your name, but I would give your agent a call and see how to handle it. I think I've read before on these boards that they can take care of this for you.

Yes, call the TA and let them know about your PIN. They will call and see about having it applied to your ressie! I do this all the time. :)

I called 407-939-7675 today to see if I had a code. It turns out I had 40% off a mod! I booked for September right away and saved over $800! :cool1: I am still hoping for free dining as this will save us a little more, but this will work, too! Good luck!

DId you never receive an Email or postcard? I ahvent received anything..should I call?

The worst that can happen is they say no and you can hear the eye roll. :thumbsup2

Seriously, it doesn't hurt to ask. It's just a pain in the tush jumping through all the hoops to get to the live person.

I am happy for all those who this has worked for....I called last night and was told by a CM that it was too early for august discounts and I had no pins...I have tried all of the tricks...its been 2 years since we have been...so I guess I will have to wait for regular discounts and if none come out its off prop for us or not go at all....I am frustrated as well as the others that arent getting the pin....I feel like the person who gets picked last in gym class.

The person that I called and asked was really nice about it. They didn't act rude about it at all. We did end up having a pin, but for some reason, I never got an email or a card in the mail for it.

can you do both? or you would use whichever was the best deal?

Disney does not allow the stacking of codes.

It would have to be one or the other. And depending upon number of people and level of resort - either one would the better choice.

You won't be eligible for free dining and a room discount. Only one deal allowed per stay!

I had never received an email about my pin. When I called, I found out they had the wrong email address for me in their system. The CM that booked my reservation changed it at that time.
