Decent restaurants for dinner off property

We really enjoyed Giordanos last trip and got more gift certificates at restaurant.com for when we go back in July. Their pizza was really good. We always hit Red Lobster as well. We have one locally but we never go to it. For some reason, it has become a tradition for me and my son to go there on vacation. I let him get the Ultimate Feast and he is already talking about it for this trip. I am thinking of buying gift certificates and cards for places we will go to, so it's not a big expense when we get there.

Check and make sure Giordano's is still in business in Orlando. We live 45 minutes away in Tampa, and the one here just closed a few weeks ago. Would hate for you to be surprised

They still have Orlando, Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista listed on their website. I'll check closer to my trip, but as busy is they were when we were in there, I doubt they would close that location. I got $25 gcs for $2, so I hope we can go again.

I bought one of the $50 GC for Giordano's.

I know it has to be a $100 minimum purchase to use it, but I figure looking at the menu with 4 teenage boys that would be easy.

It's also gonna have a 18 dollar gratuity added, so it will boil down to $68 dollars $13.60 per person.

This will be our late lunch in-between Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Quest-well AMC movie theater for me!

I guess if it was about $4 less per person I would like it more.

No, you aren't alone. We have been 3 times and I have tried to like it, but I just don't see the attraction. Its always crowded and we have always had to wait for food to come out and some things they were out of and never replaced.

We have been to both locations and it was the same each time. I would have to wait for a potato, then I would have to wait on the soup and then they would run out of tea, so I would get another drink, when all I really wanted was a glass of tea! It was loud and crowded and I just don't understand all the love for it!

We ate at the one on 192 the week before Christmas. I spent more than I wanted to even with a certificate, but the food was good.

I don't love them either and until my youngest son expanded his range of what he would eat, he would leave there hungry. We even brought in McDonalds for him once.

It's my vegetarian daughter's favorite.

This is a good point about Sweet Tomatoes (or any restaurant for that matter). If you don't like what they serve, there's no reason to go there. If you aren't a soup and salad lover, this is definitely not the place for you, just as my family would never go to a steakhouse or seafood restaurant.
