december14 wonder docs

hi, we're sailing on the 12/14 wonder cruise. We'll be leaving from the UK on 4th december for wdw. We booked thru DU and i have contacted them re: no documents as yet, even though I've read on here that some january cruisers have their documents already! Apparently disney haven't printed them yet! Doesn't it seem odd that disney don't print them in chronological order? Why print january docs when early december ones are waiting?
I feel a little cross that I have to worry about getting them in time when I've paid all that money to cruise, and they've had my booking for so long. DU say I should have them by december 1st, but leaving on december 4th, it would only take a small hold-up and i wouldn't have them.
Anyway, with a problem-solving approach (!) what should i do?
DU say i can collect them at the port. Will this cause major hold-ups for us? Is it a different/long queue?
We're staying at Comfort Inn LBV - would it be feasible to have them sent there?
I know I'm whining but why don't they send the documents out sooner so that people don't have to worry? I'm sure a fair percentage of sailers come from overseas and need them early just as we do.

I wouldn't fret about it. You WILL be able to get on the ship without your docs. They still have you confirmed and your name is on their manifest. It's nothing to worry about, although, I am sure you much rather have them in hand for peace of mind.

Try not to worry too much about it and have a wonderful time!

We are on the Dec 24th cruise and have not recived our Doc,s yet I have Sams Club Travel. I hate that you caint get quick answer like stright through Disney. I called my TA friday and told them to call Disney and ask about my doc,s Disney they said they would mail them to my TA that day and my TA said that takes three to four days and then they will overnight them to us. I think you need to call if you have not allready and request that they call Disney right away and get your Docs. I just wish the hold up was because they we working on a free upgrade but not a chance same room My TA said and we even paid cruise off early because I heard that was your best chance.

We're on the December 14th Wonder, too and also have the reservation through DU. Fortunately, we don't leave until December 12th for WDW so we still have a bit of time. On our past two Disney cruises, we've gone directly through Disney and had received our docs at least 30 days in advance.

If I were you, I'd be a bit nervous having to wait until Dec. 1st, too! -- even though as another poster said, you'll be able to board without your docs. But getting your docs in the mail is part of the fun and anticipation!

thanks - I've been in touch with Disney who say I can pick the docs up at the pier. Apparently they're having a problem with the cruise documents (only 12/14 it seems!) As you say, it'd be nice if it was because they were upgrading everyone - but our stateroom is the same as well
As this is our first cruise it would've been nice to gloat over the tickets, but never mind..
I must say, I'm still irked with Disney about it though, it's not their usual slick efficiency, and I paid fully, on time with no nagging - I think I should get my tickets the same way!

Don't let this ruin your holiday...I know it is easier said than done! We too are on the Dec. 14 wonder and do not have our tickets. I have contacted DU, but have not heard the status yet. I was unaware they were having problems with the tickets. I believe there are some on the Dec. 14 that do have their documents.
I think we should all have a free upgrade...what do you think!?

That's awesome, Cheryl-Lynne! I'll post when I get mine! (even though mine may need to be reissued -- not sure if you read, but family crisis and husband may not be going. May have to drag my Mom or Sis.)

I am sorry to hear about your crisis - I am/was unaware of your situation. I hope all is well for you and yours. If your have to bring your Mom or sister, I'm sure you will not have to "drag" them! I'd be jumping for joy at the chance for a Disney Cruise!

Thanks for your thoughts on our family problem. I do appreciate it. We are taking things one day at a time, but for now it doesn't look like my husband will be joining me. I will be buying another airline ticket probably on Monday when my Mom and sister decide who is coming with me.

Be sure to look at my webshots album (link is under my sig) so you know what I look like. I will try to have a green mickey mouse head with CRSNDSNY on it attached somewhere to me or my purse or camera bag at all times. You will probably find me most often at the adult pool as we travel without kids and like to spend our time there. We have a second dinner seating and like to hang out at the Promenade Lounge or Cadillac Lounge prior to dinner. Also, we are in stateroom 6567.

NOW, how will I know who YOU are?

Today is a very wet rainy day.... can't wait until we go so I can experience some sunshine!
I will watch out for you. I saw your pictures on your web site, so your face is now imprinted in my mind!! Great picture by the way. We too will be at the adult pool as often as I can. When the ship is in port, we will remain on the ship to enjoy the empty pool. We will be in room 5013 just one deck below you. I will see if I can get a Canadian Flag pin and I'll attach that to my green waist pouch I'll be wearing. We have an early dinner seating. what a surprise - having arranged with disney and DU that i would definitely pick up our docs at the port - what should arrive yesterday, but OUR cruise docs!
What excitement in our house. Reading through the booklets - it isn't quite clear - do you pay for snacks in the lounges and bars or are they included and you pay only for drinks?

That's awesome janedo! SO glad you have your documents.

You will not pay for food (not even room service), but alcoholic drinks anywhere and soda/drinks outside of the dining rooms (and Topsiders) you'll pay for. Don't forget that there is a free beverage station Deck 9 Aft that includes, iced tea, lemonade, water, hot tea, & coffee. We usually bring mugs to refill at these stations for free.

Snacks at the lounges are free.

thankyou - I'm reaLLY EXCITED now. We're spending 8 days in WDW(and shopping) before the cruise, so we'll be leaving in less than a week! Is it right what I've read on here that we can now board earlier (midday?) and go to Palos to book straightaway?
All of a sudden i seem to have Lots of questions...

I believe boarding begins somewhere around noon/12:30. Also, it will state in your navigator where Palo reservations are taken, but I believe they are in the club 'district' somewhere. From what other's have said, they start earlier than the time listed. I believe they list the time for reservations as 1pm or 1:30 but actually start taking them earlier.

I hope you get the day and time you're hoping for!

After two Disney cruises, we have yet to eat at Palo. If all works out, husband and I will be enjoying dinner at Palo for our last night.
