Hi - we will be taking our fourth trip to DW in December 2010. I know the average temps will be between 52 and 70 degrees but was just after some feedback from anyone who has visited in Dec. We will be there the week before and the week after xmas. Is it still shorts a t-shirt and swimming weather? Thanks

Hi. We've been twice in December and it can be very different from 1 day to the next. Some times its been shorts and T shirts in the day and a bit chilli on the night. Other days you might need a jacket on in the days. We went to blizzard beach one day when it was a bit cold. We lasted about 1 1/2 hours in there, but it was fun because there was only about 15 other people in there, so we had the whole place to our selves which was fun.
One week we had it good and managed to go in the pool every day, but the day we went Discovery Cove, we were froze. December is abit hit and miss, but its never been to cold to enjoy the parks.:thumbsup2

Yes i agree, we went at Xmas and the weather was very hit and miss. We didn'nt have alot of rain but the mornings and evenings were chilly. We did brave the water parks a couple of times (as the children are complete water babies) you certainly could'nt lie on the sun bed for too long but it was ok if you were on the move. We went to Dis cove on boxing day and it was FREEZING even the children were struggling.

We have been a few times over Christmas - last year it was cold for the first few days of our trip, the noticeably improved:thumbsup2 There were quite a few days when you could go in the pool.

You do need a jumper/coat, and some days warmer clothes. It can change from day to day.

We were there just before this past Christmas and I think we had 2 days that were a little chilly (OK 1 really cold day and it happened to be the same day we did MVMCP and it was extremely cold that night) apart from that is was warm we had shorts and t-shirts day and night.

The year before it was unusually warm and just after new year it was freezing for around 3 or 4 days (they even declared a state of emergency as it was too cold for the orange crops!) and then it was back to warm again.

I think the best thing to do is imagine you're packing for a British Summer holiday. Its the luck of the draw really, but its certainly not as WET as Britain in summer

As others have said it can change from one day to the next. For the first few days we were there it was so cold I had to buy another jumper, then 2 days later I was wearing my vest tops. The year we went I was in a tshirt and shorts at mid night on new years eve. We will be going again for Christmas 2010 too, I plan to pack layers! As for swimming I was swimming in Stormalong Bay on Christmas day so yeah, swimming will be most likely fine!!
