December Weather in Disney World - Are forecasts accurate?

we arrive Dec 3rd too and going to the MVMCP (party night I'm wearing turtle neck, fleece and coat). I'm worried about Wed Dec 8 b/c I see rain.
I have packed the clothes and tomorrow packing the other stuff.

we are also going next week weather.com seems to say highs in 70's and accuweather lists highs in teh 60's some days they seem to differ up to 15 degrees go figure. but we are also planning on tees during the day sweatshirts at night and gloves

GLOVES!!:scared1: I think I've only worn gloves here in NJ only once this fall/winter. No way - no matter how cold my hands might get ;) that's what pockets are for!!:lmao:

Rain, Rain Go AWAY!!! Yea, and one cm I talked to on the phone said december wasn;t a rainy month.:rotfl2:

Ok.. first the extended forecasts can change, the ones that are say up to 5 days out are the ones I would count on. We are going to be getting a cold front that is starting to make it's way in now. It will be lasting a few days then we will be going back to our normal temps which is why some are seeing the drastic changes from high to low then back to high. As far as the "rain", normally when there is a cold front that comes thru, it usually comes in after the rain.
So yes, you can see a drastic change in temps.. December is always an iffy month..

I just am bringing the little dollar store knit gloves....you never know...better safe then sorry....plus a low of 45 feels a lot colder when its dark out than during the daytime! Lets hope I dont have to use them.

on that note weather.com just took rain away on 12/8 and says 12/7 and 8 and 9 high of 70 and clear skies!

I just made the mistake for checking the weather for our trip 12/12 - 12/15 and it's all RAIN! :scared1: Here's hoping it changes!

Anyway - to help you -- yes the weather can be all over the place. We went 12/2 - 12/9 last year and had just about everything! One day it rained ALL day which stunk. One morning when we had breakfast ADRs at AK TH we were all bundled up in coats, gloves, etc - I think it was in the upper 40's? Another evening at MK it was warm and muggy. And another day it was near 80 and we wore shorts! So it really can swing to all extremes. Packing layers is the key.

Where did check for that forecast? I've never found one more that 10 days out.

I'm going to ingore anyone talking about rain, lol (going Dec 7-14.) We went in Dec last year, and it was all over the place. It was really cold a lot of the time. We were glad we had our scarfs and gloves. We went to 2 MVMCPs, the first it was was cold, even bundled up I had a hard time getting pics because I was shivering. The other party, I had long sleeves and was so hot I wore shorts that night. So, yea, all over the place! We also went this March, and it was colder in Florida than it was in NJ! It was the coldest winter Florida had in 30 years last year, and I was hoping it would be better this time, lol.

Weather here in Florida is known for changing moment to moment. I live a about 2 hours north of Orlando-the last week we've been in the mid 80s and sunny. Yesterday I wore a tank top and shorts, today's high is 60 and we have freeze warnings for the next 3 days. We'll be there the 14-17 and I'll start checking the forecast a week out.

Check again! We're going those dates and when I looked at Accuweather first thing this morning, it was showing rain and cold temps- looked again just now and totally changed to sun and temps in the 70s. I'm sure it will change many times between now and then, but looking better for now.

We are also under fire warnings. I would much rather have rain than wild fires.

Just keep checking up until you find a forecast that you like, then stop checking. ;)

I actually read a post here from someone SERIOUSLY looking for a website that offered a "better forecast" (less rain) than the site they had just looked at.

Now, knowing that forecasting the weather with any kind of long-term accuracy is, well, VOO-DOO anyway...

I offer the following as a "alternative" forecast site:
------------------------------------
Hate RAIN?

Then you need, "NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM", where the forecasts are NOT as DREARY as those nasty OTHER sites that predict rain.

Yes, "NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM" only forecasts "Sunny and Warm" ALL-day, EVERY-day!

"NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM" is just the answer for folks going on vacation who don't want to worry about missing those happy outdoor activities.**

And at "NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM", you won't pay EXTRA for all those complex MAPS and RADAR, and METEOROLOGISTS...
'cause we don't USE 'em!

We just post what everyone wants to hear... and then we're DONE for the day!

So don't forget...

Trust "NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM", the CHEERY weather forecasters, with the soft creamy-nougat center.

Disclaimer: (spoken softly, and as fast as possible)

"NEVER-RAIN-dot-COM" is not responsible for actual weather conditions or damp vacation days. Void where prohibited. With approved credit. Batteries not included.

** You might MISS them, but you just won't have to WORRY about missing them.

That's funny. I just packed my Disney poncho that I paid a premium for on our last trip. If nothing else, I need to get my money's worth out of it!

What has everyone found to be the best weather site to use? Also, what city do you check for; Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista, Orlando???

I use www.nws.noaa.gov. I don't think it matters which town you put in Orlando, LBV, etc. I think the whole southeastern US is having some low temps. Be sure to bring warm clothes (maybe layering in case if warms up). Right now the next few days are in the 60's during the day and dropping to the 30's/40's at night so the evenings may be cold. Last yr. DH and I put on coats and gloves at night but the days were pretty nice. We didn't get to wear shorts or swim, however. But the holiday decorations make up for it all! I wish I could go in Dec. every year!

www.accuweather.com goes out 15 days. And someone else is right - today now it's totally different. I shouldn't even look at these sites - not sure why I did yesterday, esepcially since it gave me horrible outlooks! I will try to stay away another week so I don't stress over something that is unpredictable and constantly changing. :thumbsup2

We leave in 8 sleeps :yay:
We went at the Sam time last year and temps were everywhere. A bit of rain And a couple of days in the 80's were we could swim. We didn't pack winter coats but lots of layers with hats and gloves for night
